PRODUCTION CHALLENGE: I AM THE BEADLE - “YOU’RE MY BOSS” ICONIC SCENE

           I was actually surprised when my professor chose me to be one of the beadles to be the main character of our own choice of film to portray and re-enact iconic scenes in order to enhance our acting skills and also as part of the production challenge in our subject which is about pre-recorded.

           It was a memorable experience for me because I had to challenge myself and manage my time to shoot and do effective shots which will make the video impressive and parallel to the scene we will be re-enacting. The video and camera shots are vital to this output specially I am the main actor and I have to meet the standards of the main character I am going to portray whereas my teammates were very particular with. The camera quality is very important because it has to be clear enough to relay the acting and execute it properly in the video.

“BEAUTY IN A BOTTLE”: PRODUCTION CHALLENGE WITH ROVIE MARIE SUBALA AS BEADLE TO PORTRAY ANGELICA PANGANIBAN

           I remember the time when my friend, Rovie was called upon becoming one of the assigned beadles in portraying Angelica Panganiban in the most iconic scene of the film, “Beauty in a Bottle’” where our professor gave us a task to re-enact the characters’ role in the scene and capture the almost exact scenes to finish the challenge. Luckily, I was chosen by Rovie to be part of her team to act as the director in the scene itself. It was very happy experience because when Rovie is doing her part, we were in a video call to guide her because no one is there to hold for the camera and see how she act in front of the camera, that is when we decided to call and guide her in order for her not to repeat again if in case, she submitted then later on find out that she was not able to capture the almost exact acting like how Angelica Panganiban did in the iconic part.

           This was one of the main highlights of my semester because we were able to capture the scene with how we envisioned it. I was very thankful for the way my colleagues in this production challenge made it possible for the camera lighting, audio, and stage set-up we all made individually when we were doing our part specifically thanks to our editor, Joshua Sariego who guided me on what to do about the set-up to capture a clearer angle of the shots to portray the role that was assigned to us and of course, in contributing my own part aside from the acting, I make sure to make the script a smooth and with better lines to improve since we are given at least 20 percent that we can modify some of the parts to make it more fun and entertaining.

PODCAST: TALKSHOW – MENTAL AWARENESS MONTH “The Mathew’s Inbox”

           Recently, we made this output together with my groupmates Joshua, Mathew, James, Imee, Katrina, and Rovie and we have been together for how many years that is why this output was never new to us because we already made this before that is why we come to a conclusion to what if we tackle an issue regarding the Mental Health since this aspect of every human right now are being put in the middle of vulnerable stage because of this kind of situation where we are all stuck and the online class set-up as well.

DYAD OUTPUT: THE OFFICE SPACE KEY TAKEAWAYS WITH IMEE LOPEZ

           This is one of my latest outputs for this semester and pairing with one of my best of friends, Imee Lopez was one of the best way to finish this with a smooth and impressive out come since she was my friend who is good at editing where she helped with proper angle and shot to make sure to capture the best structure of the camera and of course, audio because we do not both put much more on the stage set-up, because we know that this output will focus more on camera and importance of audio, both background music and our voices reciting the learning and key takeaways we all gained from watching the movie entitled, “The Office Space.”

ROAD 2342 PRODUCTIONS: GGWP “GOOD GAME, WELL PLAYED” – AN ONLINE THEATRICAL PLAY BY BD4A 

           This was the time that I had to invest on my daily set-up which was supposed to be my study area but turned to be my live production stage to execute my acts as an actor which I never anticipated to happen because I am not interested and into this kind of acting specifically it will be done virtually. It was a roller coaster ride with full of experiences about this output because I had to prove to myself that all of my classmates who trusted me are never wrong for trusting me as one of the main actors on this online theatrical play which will take place on social media application called Facebook which was live.

           I gained a lot of experiences on this because I had to bring out the best in me and maximize my potential as a chosen actor to play the role of one character named “Liam.” In terms of camera, we were tasked to make sure the angle is enough to support and see the clear of ourselves because we have to let the people see us and feels like they are all watching all the way out from a theater and feels like they are watching a real play during the normal way with no pandemic.

           Next part will be the stage set-up, this was a bit hard for me to do because I have to set-up a good lighting and very appropriate set-up suitable for the character I will be portraying. It was hard for me to set-up and put up a good recommended stage-like set-up given by my set designer knowing the fact that I only have small area to execute my act.

“PAANO KITA MAPASASALAMATAN” - GROUP PRODUCTION FINAL OUTPUT

           I have a lot of things to say about my experience here but I will only limit it to the things that made this memorable for me and the learning/s I gained throughout the entire process of making this video.

           I really love the time where we had a meeting about this final output that will be passed on finals because my groupmates were very particular about the angle of camera shots, the sounds, and of course, the whole set-up that we will be doing to make this a better output and excellent one. It was me when I formulated some of the ideas in order to arrange what will be the sequencing of the events that will be seen in the video about a person we interviewed and her contribution as a teacher whom we consider a hero because of her selfless helps she had done in the idle of the pandemic. She does not want to be mentioned as we ask her permission for this word press portfolio but aside from what I learn about the things and her story, I learned also about the value of camera shots to capture a very dramatic and catching scenes we did to inspire people and relay the message towards them in which we put in the video and invest a lot more on video quality.

           The sounds in this output were very impressive as one of our editors made sure of what proper and appropriate sounds and audio to be used as background music to catch the hearts of people and also the set-up, because we put premium in portraying ever stories we are task to re-enact because our interviewee here was an Alternative Learning System teacher who teacher adults who have powerful stories to feature with.

TV NEWS SCRIPT: “NEWS PACKAGE”

           This was the first time that I edited my news package on my own where the camera set-up, audio and background music, visual effects, contents, and editing and everything you can all see here were all done only by me which seemed unusual because it was very hard for me the latter part of every production, and that is the post-production part where a lot of adjustment, polishing, and mainly the editing were all done one at a time. I am very proud of this output of mine because this was the time where I saw myself pushing beyond my limits and maximizing my potentials because this was our midterm exam and a lot of things must come smooth and excellent or else, I will fail this major exam.

           I remember the time when I had to burn eyebrows and night oils just to make sure this output will come out strong and good like my other classmates’ outputs. It was a fulfilling experience when I finished and was able to see the product of my bare hands knowing that I only have limited resources and knowledge regarding the editing and the technicalities of the editing app I used which was “Capcut”.

           This output was very important to me as part of credentials because I know to myself that I invested a lot on the angles, the rule of shots, and the quality, but of course, I only used a lowkey phone which does not guarantee a high-quality of video to be watched but still, I make it a point that this will go smoother specially my contents and sound effect which I made so much effort for. My camera shots were not as strong but I made sure of it that the angle is suitable and is enough to see me parallel to what angle reporters usually looks on the studio when they are reporting.

POLI-ECON: TIKTOK VIDEO – PRELIM EXAM “The State of Farmers”

           My preliminary exam in Political Economy as a subject was to make a video of our choice of topic and tackle it on our own way, and what I did in here was a video tackling the issues about the farmers before and even in the middle of the pandemic in which I think for many years, they were left behind by the government and they were the most important part of the agricultural sector that helps all the people to survive everyday living yet, they were neglected because of irresponsible decisions and privilege rules against them.

           I invested here on camera set-up and audio to capture the dramatic scenes and substantial elements I have to pour in this video because I believe this will capture hearts and minds of people to never disregard the farmers as they need us and sometimes, worse could happen to them that they even in-debt just to supply their needs and earn for a living. Though during the process of making this video, I was a little bit of confuse because I am going to use the “Tiktok App” where I was new t it and do not know the technicalities and the quality of video were a little pixelated which I find very difficult to fix.

           I really my experience in creating this output because I had to include my niece in the output to make it more dramatic and capture the most important scenes that will touch the hearts of possible viewers and also relay the message and its importance of giving focus and centralize the policies in making laws about agriculture will benefit the farmers who are in no way to recover if we keep digging and putting them in chain of marginalization.

“PODCAST: DIGITAL DICTIONARY”

           This is one of the hardest outputs I made last semester, (HAHAHA sorry sir) because this is my biggest problem ever since online class started and I think I am not the only one who experienced this. But for me, I find it hard the fact that I have to find a place where even the ticking of the clock should not be present. I seriously do not know how to make this recording a clear, and a smooth one. This was an output about digital dictionaries where terms are defined by the way podcasters did it. This challenge was a bit of hard however, I come to the point that finding a solution will always be the best way to overcome the challenge.
