Everythingās so much better when itās gay
No itās not. Iām so tired of thisĀ āLol gay=goodā mindset. Speaking as a writer, I was writing a story that had primarily straight characters. Why, because thatās how I imagined them. Thatās who they were. This damn site guilted me into thinking I had to change my characters to make the story good. So I made some gay, some trans, changed the races of a few characters and names. And you know what, it fucking sucked. Not because the characters were lgbt or poc, but because I had forced them to be something they werenāt. I became disinterested with the story and depressed, and I came to the realization that the story didnāt need to have lgbt characters or poc charactes to be a good story, because a story isnāt about their sexual preference or color, itās about who they are inside. I changed the characters back to how I originally had them, which was primarily straight and white, and the story was reinvigorated because I wasnāt forcing it to be something it wasnāt. I was allowing the story to be what it was.
So no, gay doesnāt equal better. Gay doesnāt mean good. And having this mindset can negatively impact stories when you force your characters to be something their not.
Anyways everythingās so much better when itās gay
#wow thatās a really roundabout way of saying youāre a shitty writerĀ - [x]
āas a straight white author i canāt imagine a world that doesnāt revolve around me and diversity is just too hard to writeāĀ
sinship (like friendship except u sin together)
@upthehillart
I've been having lots of trouble with drawings hands, and looking around I only see people drawing the side of hands with the thumb and all I'm looking for is just one simple reference of the pinky side of a fist facing up ;;
omigod i drew a reply to this and somehow in my head I remembered it as an ask about fists but it wasnāt?????????? I WENT COMPLETELY OFF THE SUBJECT and to goodness knows where
SORRY FOR GOING OFF TOPIC i hope the last pic helps w what you were looking for? OH GOSH
funraising fees are fucked up did you know gofundme takes up to 7.9% of everything people donate you + $0.30 per donation
that means that if 10 people help you raise $1000, youāre losing $82 bucks
if youre a kid in trouble trying to raise money dont make my mistakes and use youcaring which is apparently toally free, and not gofundme
Gofundme just sucks in general. After a woman tried raising money for an abortion, they pulled her campaign and changed their terms of service so that starting a campaign for an abortion is basically against the rules, but anti-choice groups (some of which are known to be violent) are still able to use the site. sourceĀ
But they let Darren Wilson have his campaign after he murdered Mike Brown
Guys spread this!!Ā http://www.youcaring.com/Ā really is free!Ā
^YouCaring is great, in my experience. They can stay free because they ask everyone who donates to a cause whether theyād like to donate $1 to the website to keep it running.
Itās also not racist and anti-choice.
I did not know this
GoFundMe have also deleted sex workerās fundraisers even though they were for medical bills, had nothing to do with sex work, and didnāt mention it anywhere. Someone outed her to them, and they deleted it. Boycott GoFundMe. Use YouCaring.
I do not donate to go fund me campaigns, even when I really, really want to.
How you living, Pops?

words to remember
This is so good. I try to be mindful of things like this but it can be hard if you feel self-conscious about your feelings in the first place!
This was meant to be a quick warm up, but it turned into a comic that Iāve wanted to draw for a while. This is something that is extremely important to me, and I appreciate it if you read it.
A while ago, I heard a story that broke my heart. A family went a cat shelter to adopt. The daughter fell in love with a 3-legged cat. The father straight up said āabsolutely notā. Because he was missing a leg. That cat was that close to having a family that loved him, but the missing leg held him back. Why?!
Many people have the initial instinct of ānopeā when they see an imperfect animal. I get it, but less-adoptable does NOT mean less loveable. 9 out of 10 people will choose a kitten over an adult cat. And those 10% that would get an adult cat often overlook ādifferentā animals.
All I want people to do is be open to the idea of having a ādifferentā pet in their lives. Choose the pet that you fall in love with, but at least give all of them a fair shot at winning your heart.
Donāt dismiss them, they deserve a loving home just as much as any other cat. They still purr, they still love a warm lap, they still play, they still love you. Trust me, next time you are in the market for a new kitty, just go over to that one cat thatās missing an eye and see what heās all about!
Let me tell to you a thing.
This is Lenore. I first saw her in a little cage at the Petco I frequent (I used to take my parentsā dog in for puppy play time), and she looked like the grouchiest, old, crotchety cat in the world, and I fell instantly in love. She was cranky, she was anti-social, hanging out at the back of her cage. Her fur was matted because she wouldnāt let the groomers near her.
She was perfect.
But I didnāt have a place for her. I wasnāt living in my own space yet, and where I was, I wasnāt allowed cats. So I pressed my face to the bars of her cage and I promised that if no one had adopted her by the time Iād bought a house, I would come back for her.
I visited her every week for overĀ six months while I looked for a house. At one point, they had to just shave her entire rear-end because the mats or fur were so bad. They told me she clawed the heck outta the groomer that did it, screamed the entire time, and spent the next two days growling at anyone that came near the cage.
A couple of weeks later, I closed on my house. I went back and I got an employee, and I said: āThat one. I need that cat.ā
They got the paperwork and the lady who ran the rescue that was bringing the cats in told me that Lenore (at the time, Lila) was 8 years old, had been owned by an elderly lady who had died, and brought in to a different rescue, whoād had her for six months on top of the time Iād been seeing her at Petco.
This kitty had been living in a 3x3ā cube for over a YEAR because she was older and āless adoptable.ā
I signed the paperwork, put her in a cat carrier, and drove her to my new home. I had pretty much nothing; a bed, an old couch, a couple of bookcases, and a tank of mice I called āCat TVā. I let her out of the carrier and onto my bed, and I told her āI told you I would come back for you when I had a place. Itās not much, but itās yours too now.ā
Lenore spent the next three days straight purring non-stop. She followed me around the house purring. Sat next to me purring. Slept next to me purring. Leaning into every touch, purring, purring, always purring. She still purrs if you so much as think about petting her. Sheās amazing, and I love her.
So, you know, if youāre thinking about adopting, and you see a beast that others consider āless adoptable,ā think about Lenore.
FUCKING IMPORTANT
The STORY THOUGH.
my mom once got an adult cat when she was supposed to get a kitten⦠zook was a great kitty
THIS IS THE BEST COMMERCIAL EVER
Iāve reblogged this so many times because I truly think every parent should involve themselves with what their child enjoys.Ā
Not to mention this is an act of solidarity. Heās saying āeven if the entire world is against you, Iām on your side.ā Which I think is important for a kid to know. Heās refusing to be a bully to his child, even if he doesnāt understand.
I work at Hot Topic and we had a white suburban dad in who was buying matching heavy metal/screamo band shirts for him and his teenage daughter and said āTo be honest, I think this stuff sounds like garbage, but she likes it so we listen to it together and weāre going to the concert for Christmas.ā And it was just really heartwarming to see him so involved in his childās life and validating her interests.
I WILL NEVER NOT REBLOG THIS.
āI donāt get it, but I love how you love itā is one of the best things anyone can say. My entire family asks questions about comics because they want to share my enthusiasm for them and support me, even though they otherwise wouldnāt pay attention to the industry at all.
I cried when I first saw this
Aaaaand now Iām crying. I wish my mom would have given that kind of damn that I felt exactly that outside of everything and every one.
