Put it all back and you’re done.

Thanks to great folks at 4 Wheel Parts. got a really good deal on some awesome parts that make me feel proud to throw up the obligatory Jeep wave when a fellow Wrangler passes by.

Did some mechanical therapy (for me and Lana) replaced a faulty coolant temp sensor. Had to remove left front fender to access. After connecting my WiFi obd2 dongle and resetting the codes there were no more error codes (check engine light) Mission Accomplished.

Thanks to my wonderful wife for getting this #alienshade for my JK for my birthday. Installed this am. Ready for summer (and not having random cats sleeping at night. Lol)

Good 30 min project for this am. Added the Wild Boar A-pillar grab bars. Taking the factory bolts outward straight forward 13mm socket. Used a needle nose to turn the last few threads out and carefully remove so it doesn't drop behind trim. Going back in was a little more tricky. The t-6 bolts are a bit hard d to start and you have to make sure not to strip them. Once started I used the tbar handle to tighten it up. They are solid bar stock so the handles look and feel really secure. Helps the driver to pull yourself up in without yanking on the steering wheel. The passenger side handle is placed well for hoisting yourself in as well. Took about 20-30 minutes to install.

So taking my jeep (Lana) in for service this am. Along with the rear differential seal there were some computer updates under warranty for my jeep they're doing as well I get the transmission and power control but why the heck does my AC have a computer. Lol

Installed an Optima "red top" battery as a replacement for the weakening stock battery. Ordered it from 4wheelparts.com and it was local pickup for me. The factory hold down was only finger tight, I suspect that along with the heat contributed to the declining performance of the 4yo Orem battery. (Lesson: Check your hold downs after service by someone else) The optima is considerably smaller than the factory battery and takes up less room. Use the hold down supplied with the battery to lock it in place. Because of post placement of the battery is on the outboard side of the battery I had to loosen the cables from their harness clips to reach but after some careful handling the cables hooked up cleanly. The starting after install was effortless and made me wonder how long the oem battery had been in decline. Great piece of mind for under $200.

Lana got a receiver installed this morning. Went with the #RuggedRidge off amazon. Relatively easy self install. Used double stick tape to hold the washers/nuts in place until I could get the bolts started on the other side. Lightning wires installed easy with included loom that had locator pins aligned with factory holes in the frame for routing. Next step an actual ball hitch and trailer!!!

These are pics of Lana (the jeep) she's tall, dark, sexy and a little dangerous. I am going to log the upgrades and accessories I get and review them. I have a short list I plan on in the short term starting with: wheels/tires upgrade, stereo mods and roof rack. Others will come as both funding and use dictates. I may showcase other jeeps with builds I like or accessories that I'm interested in getting. I will also be putting updates of where I take Lana and what I do with her. Should be a fun ride!
