GIDEON THE LAMB.

# LAMBSGAZE.   gideon the lamb , patron of peace , consort of war. a study on deification , wrath , rebellion , immortality .  in which the lamb is an object of war, an instrument of torture, and a plague upon humanity.

he looks at you like you are the god divine, and one of these days you’ll have the courage to tell him how much you hate that.   severen is a good man, a strange one, warfare taken shape and made manifest in the radiation wastes.  gently, he strokes gideon’s cheek, and gideon preens, happy to be in the low light of the nuclear aftermath -- the mount is their home, where they lay amongst the foxfurs and warm pelts, unashamed of their bodies and their love. severen looks particularly beautiful against the night sky, where godly eye sees as many stars as one wants, with the recovering glaze of light pollution.  severen is their god, not the other way around, and with a pause, they ask, finally.

the fire is burning around inside of you,  and you watch with glee as it burns.  gideon has always had an affinity for the flame, even if they will never be able to use it. see, they have died to the flame several times, their corpse ash for the fertilizer. still, a wicked grin scrawls across their features, a too-bright smile reflecting the moonlight as the building is set ablaze. the flame reminds them of severen, fire in his eyes, and with a curious sneer, they turn to look at the source of the arson.

she is looking at you.   gideon the lamb knows they are being watched long before the gaze actually meets their eyes, and when their eyes do rise, they shine a brilliant emerald green. who knows if this was the color they were given at their birth; who knows what they have done to achieve this color? blood stains the lamb’s teeth, for they know who this is, for they know exactly what stands before them. humanity. what remains of it.  all the same, the lamb is peace, and the uncooked bird that once clung to life in their hands is offered to the woman.
