Perpetually early, a quality Edgar liked in a person. He used to be the type to show up perfectly on time, but his sister had drilled it into his brain that if he wasnโt early, he might as well be late. โAh, you must be talking to people who like me, if youโve heard only good things,โ Edgar replied jokingly, knowing there werenโt very many people who didnโt like him. Perhaps only sports fans that rooted against his team, but that never bothered him. โIโve also heard great things about you, everyone Iโve spoken to said we should make a great team.โ He was glad to hear that Mary was a strong witch. Not that he really expected much of anything to happen tonight, he didnโt want to end up carrying his partner. Itโs always nice to have somebody thatโs able to keep up with him.
โSince weโre stuck here for the next six hours, Iโve brought some things to keep us entertained tonight, but it looks like you had the same idea.โ He chuckled, gesturing to the open notebook on her lap. Edgar sat down in the grass next to her, first taking a glance around to ensure he could see everything he needed to, before pulling his bags closer to himself. โIโve got snacks, books, and blankets in case we get cold. I think thereโs even a travel chess set in here, too. I mightโve over-prepared a bit, but I really hate having idle hands.โ

With how busy Mary was these days, she liked being early to get her bearings in order before she got thrown into something. It had gotten worse since the attack, her need to be early to plan an escape route, to figure out the best place to sit herself to feel safe. She smiled.ย โWell, I think most of the Order likes you and thatโs where I got my information from so,โ she teased back lightly, shrugging her shoulders. She had heard that he was a Quidditch player, which was interesting. She had never got the sport like some of her housemates. She blamed not growing up with it, although her parents were hardly the sporting event types. It was reassuring to hear that they had good things to say about her too, although she wondered if he was just saying that. She sometimes worried that the higher ups didnโt think that she was as dedicated as she could be considering how spread thin she was these days.ย โIโm glad to hear it.โ
โOh, Iโm just finishing up some homework,โ she explained. She was glad when Edgar sat down next to her, clearly approving of the spot that she had picked out. She had taken some time trying to figure out which would be the best spot.ย โIโm glad that you brought some things, I wish I would have thought about it but Iโve been a bit scatterbrained lately.โ She listened to him list all of the things that he had brought and smiled.ย โIt seems like you thought of everything. I am the same way so I get it.โ
