"She was, in all senses of the word, a saint. If you needed help, it was always Lady Sybil you’d be best off going to, no matter what it was. She loved your father enough to fight— almost tooth and nail— for him, and he the same. I’d be lucky if I ever got t’love like that."
“At least you got to meet her,” Sybbie said smiling slightly, but only lasting a moment until a look of grief brushed over her face. “I would give anything to meet her, just once, so that I could tell her I love her,” she began, looking down at the ground in angst, “I don’t get it, it’s not fair, Marigold and George have their mothers, why can’t I have mine?!”

“That sounds like a wonderful idea,” Sybbie replied to her...
“Good idea,” Sybbie replied, sneaking a chocolate from the tin, “hopefully George will be up for it, we both know how he doesn’t fare Shakespeare like we do.” She then quickly went and grabbed some fruit and cheese from the pantry and placed them in a woven basket lying near the back door of the servants hall. “After you, Hermia,” she said with a small curtsy, picking up the basket and standing at the door.
It had started to rain as Mairead made her way back to Tom and Sybil's flat, pedaling fearlessly through the streets on the bicycle she'd borrowed from Sybil for the day. She was competent enough that the rain didn't phase her, but she couldn't see far enough ahead to know where she was going, even if she was only a few feet from the Bransons' flat. It wasn't until she was lying on her back, the wind knocked clear out of her and pain at various points in her body did she know she'd fallen off.
Sybil had only just finished reading Sybbie a bedtime story when she heard the faint sound of the bike against the pavement. Seeing as Tom had already fallen asleep, Sybil saw no need as to wake him. She walked down the stairway to the front door, pulling it open. There she saw Mairead, sprawled out on the walkway and soaked. Sybil quickly ran outside to see what had happened. “Mairead,” she gasped, holding her head up, “what happened?!”
Sybil contributed putting pressure along the maids body, listening for harsh breathes that may escape at some point. “Tell me what hurts along your body.”
"Yes, Sy—Ow!" She exclaimed as Sybil’s fingers pressed against her left shoulder, where she’d fallen. In all likelihood, her entire left side was hurt— that was where she’d fallen, her hip and then her shoulder taking impact from the fall.
“Try to hold still,” Sybil replied softly, gently pressing against different areas of Mairead’s shoulder, “no breaks, but its certainly bruised up, nothing a hot water cloth can’t simmer down though.” Sybil dashed to the bathroom and quickly grabbed a cloth, soaking it in warm water. “Here,” she said, “let me put this on your shoulder.”

“She— Sybil was the kindest, most strong-headed, dearest soul that ever graced Downton’s halls.”
“That’s what Papa said to,” Sybbie replied, wiping a few stray tears from the corners of her eyes, “He always talks of her as if she was an angel, and now she really is, I only wish I had gotten the chance to meet her...even though I never did, I..I still miss her...”
