Hey guys, honestly... My dad wants to leave here for my grandparents’ house at around 4 p.m, but it’s about a 13-hour drive from here, which means we’ll get there in the middle of the night. But so far, that’s not really a problem.
The real issue is that the place is extremely cold at night this time of year, and there’s soooo much fog 🥹 To make things worse, my dad is being stubborn about his pickup truck and wants to take his sports car instead...
I swear, guys, I’m starting to think you’re never going to see the ending of any of my ongoing fics ☠️
Alright, everyone, Mom made the call, so we’re only leaving here for Grandma and Grandpa’s house in the middle of the night. (That way, we’ll arrive there almost at lunchtime.)

A Warm Winter - Chapter 8
Neither Friday nor Saturday, the chapter ended up being posted today, Sunday 😅
“How many are speaking of the succession?” she asked. “Few. For now.” Jon frowned. “No one has cause.” “Causes can be invented,” Robb said. “You presented as an alpha, you have the Stark look, you are a few months older than I am, and you are bonded to Sansa. For certain men, that is enough to begin a story. It is not an organized cause yet. That is precisely the danger. No one knows what shape the division will take.” He knew some of those men. They had taught them both to stand watch, pitch a tent, and hold a shield beneath the rain. When Robb passed, they straightened and called him “my lord.” When Jon passed, the respect came before the title he did not possess. Envy came unbidden. Robb had been prepared for Winterfell since childhood. He had sat beside Ned while stewards recited the costs of grain and horseshoes. He had learned which houses owed men for the patrols, which bridges needed repairs before the thaw, and how long a wall could wait for new stone. He knew levies, harvests, marriages, debts, and the small disputes that could grow until they demanded blood. Jon had trained with the same men and walked the same yards, but had never been summoned to audiences as the heir. Even so, certain soldiers looked at him with a certainty Robb never received without the weight of name and rank. Jon needed no record to look like a Stark. He did not need to sit at Ned's right hand for men to follow him across the yard and listen when he corrected a stance. Robb did not envy his chains, his bastardy, or the wounds still bleeding beneath Luwin's cloths. He envied only that, and felt shame enough to know it was true.

Guys, there won’t be an update for A Warm Winter today. I have soooo much to do, and I won’t be able to proofread it 😔
I’ll post chapter 8 tomorrow, chapter 9 on Sunday, and perform some black magic to somehow post chapter 10 before I travel on Monday 🫠
There’s no need for anyone to curse me, because I’m absolutely sure @saturnoringz is already doing that from her house 😃

Doing my absolute best to update Winter Is Coming and Before Spring this weekend, because next week I’ll be at my grandparents’ farm.
Those of you who have been following me for a long time may remember that the last time I went there was when I disappeared from this social network for the longest time 😂 The signal is terrible, and most of the time I can only use whatsapp.
Besides, I want to spend my days out in the countryside with my grandpa, watch my grandma make the most unimaginably delicious food on Earth, and, of course, stay glued to my Maxi the entire time 🐴🤎
there is no universe lyanna stark would have accepted the murders of her father and brother as part of some higher purpose to a prophecy that kills her. she would have wanted to tear rhaegar apart with her own hands and teeth. she was fifteen and pregnant and terrified and alone. i do not believe for one single second that she shrugged off the near destruction of her house and her own death in the desert for the sake of a prophecy she wouldn’t have even cared about.
Casually finding out that Before Spring has reached 500 kudos and 15,000 hits...
Yeah, Chapter 6 will have to be very special ❤️
A Warm Winter - Chapter 7
The pain came so suddenly that Jon looked at the manacle on his left wrist, certain the iron had caught flesh beneath its edge. There was no fresh blood. The pressure came from elsewhere, and yet his body recognized it: fingers closing around a forearm, balance giving way, the ground seeming to shift, too little air entering the lungs. Then came the fear. Jon rose as far as the chains allowed. The scent of pine, iron, and smoke filled the wagon before he realized he was releasing it. The horses whinnied. One of the animals drawing the wagon tried to leave the track, and a wheel struck a stone hard enough to throw him against the wall. There was another alpha. Jon did not know how he knew. Perhaps it was only Sansa’s reaction crossing the bond. Perhaps his own body recognized what his mind could not see. The presence seemed close to her, strong enough to provoke pressure, restraint, and a violent urgency to drive it away. Someone was holding Sansa. Or Jon believed someone was. Perhaps she was trying to pull away. The sensation around her arm tightened again, followed by a surge of panic that hollowed out his chest. Jon yanked the chain without thinking. The eyebolt groaned in the wood. “Stop!” Hallis shouted from outside. The horses slowed in disorder. Boots struck the ground, men spoke over one another, and someone ordered the reins held fast. When the canvas was raised, hard light poured in, making Jon narrow his eyes. Hallis stood before him with his sword still sheathed, while Desmond and Olyvar remained farther back, both armed. “Has any message come from Winterfell?” Jon asked. Hallis studied his face. “No.” “Something happened to Sansa.” None of the men laughed. “What did you feel?” Hallis asked. “Someone held her. She lost her balance. There is an alpha near her.” Jon heard the certainty in his own voice and hated it, because he could support it with nothing another man could see. “Or that is how it seems. I have no way of knowing while you carry me in the opposite direction.”

Oh my God, guys, I’m seriously about to lose my mind lmaoooooo 😩
As I’ve mentioned before, Crown of Lies and Whispers of Obsession were two fics I wrote without any planning whatsoever. I only knew what the main plot of each story would be and how they would end. It was only this year that I finally sat down and planned them out chapter by chapter, and then realized that each one would need around twenty more chapters for me to wrap everything up.
With Winter Is Coming, I had already created a detailed plan covering everything that needed to happen, because it is by far my most demanding fic. Technically, it follows canon — it’s basically The Winds of Winter written from the perspective of someone who ships Jonsa 😂 So I decided everything: what would happen, the characters’ arcs, all of it... buuut I never made a chapter-by-chapter outline.
Today, I had some free time, and what did I decide to do? Let’s plan Winter Is Coming chapter by chapter...
Guys, according to my calculations, Winter Is Coming needs to have AT LEAST F.O.R.T.Y MORE CHAPTERS. And that’s with me thinking I was pretty convenient in certain parts and rushed through some of the plot.
I swear, I would PAY someone to kill me RIGHT NOW!
A Warm Winter - Chapter 6
I just realized I hadn’t mentioned here that I posted a new chapter hahahahaha 😂
Jon passed beyond the walls; she could feel it. The bond stretched and began to weaken, not all at once but with every advance, like a voice growing softer as it receded down a corridor. His stupor mingled with Sansa’s own anguish, making it difficult to tell where one ended and the other began. She remained there, following him as best she could, held motionless by the suffering and pain that accompanied him, until the blackness beyond the windows took on its first shade of grey. Catelyn entered shortly afterward. She wore the previous night’s gown beneath a dark cloak, and her hair had been pinned without its usual care. A few red strands had escaped at her temples. Her mother had not slept. Sansa rose. “Where is Jon?” “He was sent to Castle Black, under Benjen’s charge.” There was no lie about consent, no attempt to pretend that Jon had chosen to leave. Even so, the answer was not enough. “My father announced that he would leave before dawn. I want to know why no one told me the hour, why my door was locked, and why they had to sedate him.” Catelyn looked at the maid. “Leave us.” The woman hurried out. Only after the door had closed, this time without the key turning, did Catelyn answer. “Robb, Luwin, and I knew he was leaving. None of us knew that Ned meant to use dreamwine or have him chained. Jory came to find me after the escort had already passed through the gates.” It took Sansa a moment to comprehend the word. Distance had weakened Jon, but she could still feel him, heavy and confused, moving north while iron held him fast. “Chained?” “Shackles on his wrists and ankles.” Something icy opened within her, colder than the floor beneath her feet. She imagined Jon’s injured hands closed around the chains, though she did not know whether he was conscious enough to try to move them.

Lovely header by @jonsafics. Check their other headers here.
I've been working on the first chapter of a new fic for a week or so. It's supposed to be five chapters long, and I don't plan on posting it before I finish writing it. So far, only the first chapter is already 20k words long, and according to my estimates, it will be the shortest chapter, so...
The fic is a Modern AU set in Westeros, where Sansa is a 21-year-old Literature graduate student who dreams of becoming the Head of her family's Art Institute. She lives in the Vale, where she attends the University of Oldtown. Jon is a thirty-five-year-old businessman with a teenage son who became close friends with his younger cousin when she supported him through his complicated divorce from his ex-wife, Ygritte. To an outsider, their relationship seems strange. To Sansa, it's just a normal friendship. To Jon, she's so much more.
Heads up that Jon is kinda... creepy. Not in the traditional way, but still. He's not the nicest guy here, but also not the worst. I'm leaning towards a version of Jon that aligns more with @ladysansas21's usual portrayal of him in her darker fics.
Anyhow, below is a sneak peek at what I've been cooking for you guys. Let me know your thoughts, and feel free to ask me any questions!
FANFIC OF THE YEAR!
Not that anyone cares, but I just got promoted at work :)
living in a prision of my own making – the first chapter of the fic i'm writing for @ladysansas21 and @idkcallmelauren is already 18k words long, and i was planning the rest of it and realized that what i initially thought was a 15k chapter, and then 20k, will now easily become a 21-22k words long chapter.
what a nightmare.

Listening to Purple Rain while revising Chapter 6 of A Warm Winter and remembering that meme about how, the first time Michael Jackson slept instead of writing, God gave Prince the idea for the song 😂😂😂😂😂
Just casually giving Gigi moral, emotional, and psychological support in my free time while she attempts to FINISH THE ENTIRETY OF CROWN OF LIES 😭☝️
Idk if she’s already told y’all that she’s writing literally EVERYTHING that’s left so she can post it all at once, but if she hasn’t… well, now y’all know LMAOOOOOO
Anyway, we were on a Teams call ~ which is honestly criminal behavior bc wdym this girl doesn’t have Discord??? ~ and she was sharing her Word screen while writing right in front of me.
Y’ALL.
I SWEAR I was actually losing my mind watching how insanely fast this girl types and how many details she comes up with and adds IN REAL TIME. Her brain is running on 5G while mine is still buffering 😭😭😭
So I’m already sitting there like 😨😨😨😨 watching every single word appear, and then she just casually goes:
“Oh, I’m just kinda writing everything in a very rough and messy way rn, but during the first revision I’ll probably rewrite some stuff and add more details…”
MORE DETAILS????
Gigi, babe, you’ve already described the movement of the atom inside a single strand of that character’s hair and you’re STILL calling this a rough draft?????
JESUS FUCKING CHRIST ☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️
Oh my God, I’m going to kill Serene hahahaha. I can’t believe she told everyone — and she didn’t even TAG me! She was definitely hoping I wouldn’t see the post. I seriously need to reconsider my friendships on this platform...
Okay, guys, let me give you some context. You know I had a new fanfic idea and that I’m ridiculously excited about it. It was going to be added to my list of fanfics that need updating, right after the next Before Spring update and so on.
But then I realized that would mean writing FIVE longfics at the same time. My fics already get an average of one new chapter every three weeks, so imagine what would happen if I added another one to the mix...
Based on the fact that I wrote the fanfic @saturnoringz requested from me really quickly, I realized that the initial burst of excitement is the best thing to take advantage of when writing. So I was planning to write all of Hidden Truths at once — and I’ve genuinely already started. I have quite a lot of material — and then post it throughout an entire week.
For example, one week I would post six chapters of it, and the following week I would update two of my older longfics, and so on. That way, it wouldn’t become yet another fanfic making every other update take even longer.
The problem was that it would end up being completed before all my other fics, and I wasn’t handling that very well. I specifically update my stories in order from oldest to newest because I don’t want to hurt the people who have been following one particular fanfic for a long time.
I even vented to @saturnoringz it and said I would probably make a post explaining everything here at some point...
Because some people might wonder: instead of writing an entirely new fanfic, why don’t you finish writing the oldest one first?
The answer is exactly that initial excitement.
It’s not that I don’t love Crown of Lies or Whispers of Obsession anymore. I do! But my hyperfocus is almost entirely centered on Before Spring and Hidden Truths right now.
When I started Crown of Lies and Whispers of Obsession, I didn’t plan anything. I knew what the main plot would be and how I wanted the stories to end, but I didn’t map out everything that needed to happen in order to reach the conclusion I wanted.
Basically, I just wrote whatever came to mind that day, and because of that, I ended up developing extremely complex plots in both stories...
Add that to the fact that I was going through an incredibly demanding period at university while also starting as a trainee at a Big Four company — you pay for every sin you’ve ever committed — and I barely had any time to post.
And then what happens? New fanfic ideas keep appearing...
By the time I started Winter Is Coming, I had learned my lesson and created a solid plan for it. The only reason it isn’t updated more quickly is that I strictly follow my update order, which means it can only be updated after Crown of Lies and Whispers of Obsession have been updated.
This year, now that I have more free time because I’ve graduated and been promoted at the company I work for, I sat down to assess the situation with Crown of Lies and Whispers. I wanted to understand exactly what I needed to do to tie up every loose end and resolve the thousand different plotlines I created.
And I basically realized that both stories still need several chapters before I can do that.
So I had decided to write all of Hidden Truths immediately and post it. But I just couldn’t make peace with that decision, because readers have been waiting for me to finish Crown of Lies and Whispers of Obsession for almost TWO YEARS!
You can say I have “OCD” about it, but it felt unfair.
So instead, I decided to finish writing Crown of Lies completely and use the posting schedule I had originally planned for Hidden Truths: spend one full week posting only that story, then spend the next week updating two of my other fics, and continue alternating like that.
Later, I would do the same thing with Whispers of Obsession.
But then comes the question: how do I do that without all the initial excitement?
Serene found the solution for me: talk to each fanfic’s biggest readers.
Their excitement motivates you.
She is a die-hard Crown of Lies reader, and hearing all her excited screaming on Teams today while I told her about my plans for the plot gave me the motivation I needed. I’m now genuinely and positively excited about finishing the complete draft of Crown of Lies.
Well, guys, I’ve talked way too much. Anyone who actually read all of this has my admiration, because I definitely wouldn’t have 😂
I don’t know whether I explained everything properly, but that’s it. Sorry for venting on a random Tuesday...
Note: When I vented to @saturnoringz, she told me I didn’t owe the readers any explanation at all. I just had to include that 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
