(and this coming from a guy who had Adrien force a kiss onto Marinette while she was dating Luka because Adrien couldn’t control himself and then went, “That right there is an endgame love interest!”)

Also turns out that it’s not just a post but multiple posts, and what tipped me off the most is that they saw not my AU, but fanart of it. They saw Airi’s comic of it.

Like first of all, the audacity of talking about people having “bad takes” and “bad AUs” (obviously referring to this one) while knowing nothing about it, because either they saw a single comic that was fanart and based their entire opinion off of it (which is incredibly ignorant and short-sighted)...

or they’re lying about only seeing the one comic, went through more of the AU, and is playing innocent about it so as to not look like he went looking for things to be salty about.

Because that’s exactly what he must’ve done to find this AU in the first place. Both my AU and Airi’s fanart are tagged with Lukanette and Pro LukaMari; if he had either blacklisted, he would not see them. I’ve curated my internet experience appropriately and the only distasteful love square content I see is what people send me asks about. It’s not hard, it’s not rocket science.

This is what irritates me about people like this. With me, you guys know that I won’t play games with you. If something ticks me off, I’ll be honest with you. I’ll say that I’m salty, I’ll say that I don’t like someone, and I won’t vague about it.

The type like this, meanwhile, carry a sense that they think they’re morally superior over everyone else. They’ll claim “positivity” and that they’re “anti salt” only to then litter their posts with passive-aggressive salt over characters and ships they don’t like. When they’re called out, they’ll claim that they’re “only talking about specific groups” or play the victim like the person who called them out is the true baddie.

As a continuation of their other posts, they posted a bunch of memes salting over the “““Lukanette stans specifically.”““

But you’ll notice right away that one of the memes contains the word “fan,” not “stan,” essentially calling all Lukanette fans salty (and I don’t want to hear about how it was an “””innocent mistake””” because someone who’s actually positive and careful would never make a mistake like that).

Never mind that there are people who are multishippers with Lukanette and the love square and that the other meme about “people only shipping Lukanette because they hate Adrien” is either a fantasy designed to protect the love square stans from the idea that someone might genuinely ship something against their ship.or an outright lie that was made up to make all Lukanette fans + Adrien salters look bad (for the record, I shipped both Lukanette and love square before dropping the latter, so already it’s wrong).

It’s a tactic specifically designed to tick people off, and you can see it in the faux innocence of “ohh, I don’t know if I should post them, it might make people mad,” when in actuality it’s just baiting people to beg for them so he can hide under the veil of “people asked for it!” if they’re called out.

I’ve seen these tactics before, I’ve seen them everywhere. It’s not even subtle, but it’s easy for people to fall for before it’s under the guise of being “pure” and “above salters.” It’s easy for people to fall for it when he vagues to act as if he “doesn’t want drama” and “isn’t looking for conflict” while simultaneously making post after post bashing Luka/Lukanette/fans. When he’s called out, suddenly it’s “just a joke” and everyone is else being too sensitive.

I genuinely could not care less what Gale thinks of my AU, but I’m tired of people getting away with this behavior. Like, literally, Gale went and “reminded” people about how the characters portrayed in salt fics aren’t the real characters, yet also talked about how “““toxic Lukanette stans”““ ruined the ship for him.

He tags me on his original opinion of LadyBugOut where he clearly holds back his opinion (though puts in a wholly unnecessary diss on my name that was also wrong for the time because I had changed it to “Clarity” by then):

yet has a clear shift in other posts where he bashes the AU (notice how he tags Zoe when mentioning her AU but not me) and states that something he has initially said “worked in my AU’s favor” in his initial post was actually something awful that he didn’t like. The gall to talk about how people “should just be honest with their opinions” while acting the way he does, I swear....

And apparently my LadyBugOut AU had become so known amongst his followers that they’d actively use it as a measurement of salt, just to give an idea of things.

And their trend of proclaiming opinions as truth. I’ve also already talked before about them being against the idea of “using characters” against ships when they use Luka to prop up the love square.

If he has such a problem with my AU and/or my content, maybe he shouldn’t openly admit to scouring the salt tags to “laugh” (meanwhile being spiteful enough to make posts and memes about what he finds I guess) when he didn’t before.

In conclusion, I’ll respect people who pick up a bat and go, “let’s fight,” not the people who’ll brush the dust off their shoulder only to then whisper discreetly about someone/something they’d like to smack in an effort to goad their audience. If these so-called “toxic Lukanette stans” chased Gale away from the ship, then I’m grateful because I wouldn’t want him anywhere near it.
