Ok. I am going to try to reinstate two things just to humor myself and perhaps humor or interest others. They are: #RandomAlbumOfTheDay - where I let my player pick from literally over a thousand albums and review it and pass on some information about it if I have. Bonus: I have a pipsqueak second reviewer joining me. I will tell you if she sings and chatters because I can tell if she likes something. #RandomJohnTaylorPictureOfTheNight - meant to encourage dreams 😜
#RandomAlbumOfTheDay Avenged Sevenfold - "The Stage" It is a concept album about artificial intelligence and self-destruction of society. How can you not love an album featuring Neil deGrasse Tyson saying: We have one collective hope: the Earth. And yet, uncounted people remain hopeless, famine and calamity abound. Sufferers curl themselves into the arms of war; people kill and get killed in the name of someone else’s concept of God. Do we admit that our thoughts and behaviors spring from a belief that the world revolves around us? Each fabricated conflict, self-murdering bomb, vanished airplane, every fictionalized dictator, biased or partisan, and wayward son, are part of the curtains of society’s racial, ethnic, religious, national, and cultural conflicts, and you find the human ego turning the knobs and pulling the levers. When I track the orbits of asteroids, comets, and planets, each one a pirouetting dancer in a cosmic ballet, choreographed by the forces of gravity, I see beyond the plight of humans. I see an universe ever-expanding, with its galaxies embedded within the ever-stretching four-dimensional fabric of space and time. However big our world is, our hearts, our minds, our outsize atlases, the universe is even bigger. There are more stars in the universe than grains of sand on the world’s beaches, more stars in the universe than seconds of time that have passed since Earth formed, more stars than words and sounds ever uttered by all humans who have ever lived. The day we cease the exploration of the cosmos is the day we threaten the continuing of our species. In that bleak world, arms-bearing, resource-hungry people and nations would be prone to act on their low-contracted prejudices, and would have seen the last gasp of human enlightenment. Until the rise of a visionary new culture that once again embraces the cosmic perspective; a perspective in which we are one, fitting neither above nor below, but within. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 - because..... science and Neil deGrasse Tyson! 🐥🐥🐥⭐⭐- Lady Bird likes about half of it. Particularly "The Stage" and "Exist".
Still here. I just needed a break for a while. More coming soon! 💋

Look at this!
This is the shiznit! It just breaks my heart thinking of all the tickets that didn't make it this far (Live Aid Philadelphia, for one).
[T-2-1] The Random Album of the Day "The Diary" by The Gentle Storm (2015) This unique album is a lot of fun. Within the Power and Symphonic Metal scenes it's quite common to issue a deluxe version of album with lots of instrumental, acoustic or alternate mixes. The Dutch group The Gentle Storm, consisting mainly of the brilliant Arjen Lucassen (Stream of Passion/Ayreon) and vocalist Anneke van Giersbergen (ex-The Gathering), have taken this to a whole new level. "The Diary" was described by Lucassen as "an epic double concept album, a combination of 'classical meets metal' and 'acoustic folk'." Centered around a sea theme all of the album's 11 tracks have been recorded twice, first in a gentler, folksier version with a definitively Irish appeal, and as a stormier, more Metal version guaranteed to appeal to the usual audience. On the whole this works well. Sometimes the hardest decision is whether to listen to the Gentle side or the Storm side or even to listen to the songs in pairs. Any way is rewarding to the listener. The Gentle tracks contain all sorts of exotic instrumentation and the more acoustic elements are crisp and clean. The more bombastic Storm tracks carry the heavier elements quite well though. Both sides benefit from the distinctive use of double bass and mixed percussion. The brilliance of this thing is that you are never left with the feeling that the album was just recorded one way and then just remixed to create the other version. Each song stands well on its own. As with any of his Ayreon compositions, "The Diary" is an opera consisting of a nice storyline involving 16th century sailor and his love, all told through the mechanism of a diary found in 21st century Amsterdam. It's actually quite involved so I will provide a Wikipedia link if you want to read more. But the songs it spawns are all gems by themselves, especially the opener "Endless Sea", the ominous "Cape of Storms", and the dramatic "The Storm" (the Storm version of this might be my favorite track of them all). Overall, Arjen's musical composition is top notch and Anneke's lyrics and vocals are pitch perfect. The only thing that took a "horn" was a slightly dragging middle section but all in all, this is worth adding to your collection. 🤘🤘🤘🤘 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Diary_%28The_Gentle_Storm_album%29
Yikes! August is a bear!
I am moving this month so if I am quiet that is why. See you on the other side of August!
Haha! I found a semi useful app that randomizes all kinds of stuff so I am going to use it to pick a random album of the day from my overflowing collection and tell you all about it.
Today (L80 in the randomizer) is
Long Night and their album “Sorrow Returns” Don’t rush to iTunes for this gem though. This independent act can be found on Bandcamp however and is totally worth the little bit of extra effort. Hailing from Norway, it features the dark vocals of Østen Bergøy, the former clean vocals of the more well known Tristania. This is first generation Goth of the first order yet still fresh. A pristine recording and tight production brings flashbacks of The Cult and The Mission. The only problem with this is the album is only 7 tracks! I can’t wait to to hear more. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

I better see you local dopes here! Apophis Theory is going to wreak havoc and the Desolate will tear everything to shreds. I don’t know Blue Helix, but I can vouch for the Unusual Suspects also capable of a killer jam!
