Mateo looked at her, holding her cheek softly and smiled at her. “Alright. I’m just glad you’re okay, love,” he replied softly while hugging her tightly. “Research?” he questioned with a raised a brow while squeezing her hand a little. “Sure, I’d love to,” he nodded.

Mateo shook his head. “I was just worried,” he replied while holding her in his arms tightly. “It’s okay, I just, I can’t lose you…I love you and I need you here,” he whispered softly. Leaning down to kiss her lips. “Don’t worry about…just call next time, please.”

Jani instantly melted under Mateo’s eyes and felt terrible for leaving him so worried these past couple days. “You won’t and I promise you that love.” she continued to hug him , “I am so sorry...I was doing a lot of research.” Jani kissed him and held his hand, ““Wanna come inside?”

Mateo leaned against the door a little tapping the wall in an impatient manner. Maybe he was just getting paranoid, but even not hearing from her for a few days was starting to drive his worry even further. He looked up quickly at seeing the door open. Immediately reaching forward to hug her tightly. “You’re okay,” he whispered thankfully.

Jani’s eyes widened feeling his arms around her, “Oh whats wrong did something happen?” she looked up at him and rubbed his back softly. “I am sorry I didn’t call I was just doing something.” She didn’t know Mateo would be so worried since she was used to people not caring if she went missing. Jani looked at him and leaned up pressing her lips to his, “I’m sorry.”

Mateo had been trying to find Jani all day. He knew he was a little over protective since his sister’s disappearance, but not seeing her around the last few days wasn’t helping. He finally decided to head down to her house, remembering the way and knocking on the door slowly. “Jani?” he called with a small frown, hoping to get a reply.

Jani had been home doing a lot of research on Mateo’s sister so she hadn’t been in school for the past few days. She sighed and walked around talking her thoughts outloud, “She can’t be dead she could have been kidnapped maybe? or trafficked?” she threw a shoe at the wall in frustration beore hearing the door bell. Jani went downstairs and opened, “Oh hey babe.”

Mateo watched her stand up while holding her hand, smiling up at her. “I won’t, promise that,” he replied before standing up after her and squeezing her hand a little. “Being a dorky couple sounds like fun.”

Jani blushed and smiled, “Alright well whatever you do I will always be here because I am in love with you dorky.” she wrapped his arm around her and looked around, “What should we go see?”

“I think I’ve admitted it plenty of times by now,” he replied with a chuckle. “Possibly, but I don’t it. I’d probably be going crazy because of my sister.” Teo shrugged. “Oh, definitely. We already are enough a like, let’s get matching clothes just to add to it.”

Jani held his hand and stood up, “Well I am here so don’t worry and go crazy okay?” She nodded and tried to pull him up to her, “Alright we can be a really dorky couple today.”

“I’m such a dork and I know it,” he mentioned at seeing her laughing at him. “I’m very glad I met you too. I don’t think I can imagine where I’d be right now if I didn’t.” Teo looked down at her and chuckle. “Hmm, well, maybe we can go look at some tourist-y things?” he suggested with a shrug.

“Well, the first step is to admit it.” she smiled softly and looked at him, “You would be probably with one of those junior girls that chase you down all the time. “ Jani looked and shrugged, “Are we gonna be really coupley? Like get matching t shirts and hats.”

“Definitely, babe,” he replied with a chuckle while she ruffed his far. “Mm, I’m very glad for that,” Teo replied softly while grinning at her. “Honestly, not something I ever expected to happen either. Maybe a little, but oh well.”

She smiled and looked at him unable to contain her laughter at how dorky he was being. "I am very glad too. Even though it seems weird I am so happy I met you." Jani looked up at him, "so what should we do today?"

“But it still made you laugh, so I say it’s a win,” he joked with a cheesy grin before chuckling. “My goodness, what have you done to me?” Teo teased dramatically. “Yeah, we definitely do,” he agreed. “Oh? Why will you be careful?”

“Omg you are such a dork.” she whined and ruffled his hair, “I have just loved you baby.” she giggled and pecked his lips. “I thought I would not meet the boy copy of me and fall in love with him. Doesn’t this make us pretty narcissistic.”

Mateo chuckled at her. “Mm, just your love,” he teased while smirking at her. Listening to her and chuckling lightly. “Yeah, mine was also probably to protect my sister.” Teo smirked and nodded. “Alright. I’ll make sure to be careful then.”

Jani laughed and giggled, “Ahhh that is so cheesy it makes me cringe.” she clutched her hands together. “Well, then we have a lot more in common. Except I have 5 brothers.” she laughed, “I will be careful too.”

Mateo chuckled and nodded. “I love being with you too. Honestly, I’m happy that I’ve changed, I didn’t really like who I used to be, it was more of just a backlash of dealing with my parents being gone,” he admitted while she laid on his lap and he hugged her close while chuckling a little. “I’m really glad I’m not on your bad side, love.”

Jani smiled and crossed her arms, “Aww all this flattery. What do you want from me?” she teased and crossed her legs, “I have no idea who my parents are so most of my bad behavior was to protect my foster siblings.” Jani giggled, “You should be because I can be scary my love.”

“Well, that surprises me too, my queen,” Teo agreed while looking at her. “I don’t think you’re crazy or anything like that, so don’t worry about that.”

Jani nodded and laughed softly, “Of course but I am happy that you did change because I love being with you.” Jani laid on his lap and closed her eyes, “Good? because then I would have to kick your ass and I love you too much to do that.”

Mateo felt her shaking calming down, but still held her hands tightly. “I love you so much as well. So much I surprise myself sometimes,” he mentioned before frowning a little. “I’m here for you, okay? Whenever you need me, I’ll be there as fast as I can.”

Jani looked at their hands and she felt calm as she spoke softly, “Really? You surprise me more at how much you have changed.” Jani looked at him, “Thank you and just so you know I am not crazy or anything. I am just not used to all of this.”

“I’ll try not to.” Mateo reached around to hold her shaky hands in his, tightly. “Why would I be mad at you? I’m not mad at all. I’m just glad you’re okay and here now,” he replied softly.

Jani looked at him and felt calm as he held her hands in his own. “I love you so much.” She laid on his shoulder and closed her eyes, “Sometimes I get these flashbacks and they make me collapse I don’t know why.”

“That’s good,” he replied with small smile before starting to listen to her. Holding her a little tighter and resting his chin on his shoulder. “I’m really sorry that happened to you, Jani. Sounds like your foster mom is an ass,” Teo whispered quietly while looking at her. “Honestly, I’m surprised I’ve never been arrested.”

Jani looked at him and looked down, “Don’t get arrested okay? Jail sucks so much.” She laid on his shoulder and closed her eyes, “You aren’t mad at me right? I just didn’t know how to tell you.” Jani looked down at her shaking hands.

Teo smiled at her lying on his chest while sitting with him. “Aww, were you okay after that?” he asked while looking at her. “Okay?” He raised a brow and listened.

Jani nodded, “Yeah its a normal thing though.” she looked down and took a breath, “When I was younger I used to steal a lot more and not be as careful. One time my foster mom caught on and it was her perfect excuse to kick me out. She couldn’t just do that so she umm brought in the authorities. They arrested me and I was in jail for 2 years and umm I kind of just got out a little while ago.”
