Adam Park x Ethie McGowan Chapter 5: Chemical Burns and Human Rights

Ethie

She should have anticipated this happening at some point, but not a day into being here. 

And she certainly did not anticipate the amount of chaotic energy spiraling out of control, nearing taking out windows and mirrors. The surrogates were running around trying to avoid being hit by said energy spikes, their sinister dark purple flashes of light promising pain and anguish.

“What is going on here?!” Bonnie screeched, hiding behind Ronnie, who was doing his best to shield the woman with his body. “How did we get here?”

“I dinna ken, mo chridhe,” Ronnie shouted back, “but we will get through this. Together.”

Ethie watched in fascination as they embraced with a tenderness she hadn’t seen since she left Ornovia, and it made her long for her real parents on the motherworld. 

I hope to have that kind of love one day…

The voice in her head was the loudest it had ever been, and she nearly cried out when it said. “YOU FOOL! GET THE SURROGATES BACK IN LINE! NOW!”

The base of her throat burned again, and her senses dulled slightly. 

All she could see were two misbehaving beings in front of her. And they needed to be put back in their places. Her vision went black with rage, she covered her face then immediately snapped it to her side.

“DARK FORCE KNIGHT! ARISE!”

Donned in all black and an arsenal that would put any military force to shame, she stalked towards the pair and proceeded to kick Bonnie in the back, toppling them both down to the ground. Reaching out one hand into the air, she harnessed the surging energy spikes into the palm of her hand, holding it like a dangerous weaponized orb.

The two humans cowered in her presence, and when she spoke, it wasn’t her voice that came from her throat.

“Naughty children should know better than to break from their bonds.”

Nigel Farage is the leader of Reform UK, a far right party who are currently in the process of a serious bid to become the UK government. they are just straight up evil.

Count Binface is an intergalactic space warrior with a bin on his head. he likes to run as a novelty candidate in general and mayoral elections. a big thing he likes to do is run as a candidate against the incumbent prime minister:

Anyway, in brief:

Nigel Farage is currently in the midst of a big scandal about his finances

He has decided to deal with this by 1) making a show of nobly resigning from parliament and then 2) immediately running in the resulting by-election

He has stated that he is letting 'the people' judge his actions and implied that if he wins that will prove that he has been exonerated in the court of public opinion

His goal was presumably to get a big resounding win over the other parties, proving that The People still love him.

the other parties have thus far decided that this is a 'vanity election' and, well, there is one very easy way to ensure that he will not beat any of them, and that is simply not to play.

and as a result the only person who has so far confirmed they are running against him is Count Binface. no matter the outcome this makes Nigel Farage look like, u know, a fucking clown.

If NF wins, he won against a joke candidate and thus it only makes him look an idiot (homer beating 8 year olds style) with no legitimacy, AND he will still go through the investigation that most of the HoP wants to put him through.

Adam Park x Ethie McGowan Chapter 4: The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face

Confusion mixed with dread and a desire to get on with it as she dressed for the day. She was trying not to overthink her new life here and what it all truly meant for her. Such thoughts were nothing but a nuisance and a distraction, and wouldn’t accomplish anything, anyway. She wasn’t here to admire the new furniture or even enjoy the supposed “American Suburban living” now being afforded to her. She knew she wouldn’t have time to truly learn how to assimilate as a teenage high school girl in sunny Angel Grove, California. Not with her mission looming over her head.

Ethie was here to kill the Power Rangers, one by one if necessary, then take out their leader, Zordon of Eltar, so that her extended family within the United Alliance of Evil could finally conquer Earth.

And I will succeed, she thought as she finished fastening the diamond encrusted barrette into her jet black hair. She stepped in front of the full length mirror for one final lookover. She was not going to wear makeup while on mission; she wasn’t here to find a mate after all, so partaking in the Ornovian rituals of painting her face to attract a spouse was out of the question. Taking care of her skin was a point of pride for her. Blemishes of any kind could be seen as character flaws and, since she was to be Queen one day, couldn’t risk slacking on her daily skin care routine. 

Deciding that she’d fussed over her looks enough, she walked towards the window, the sun starting to rise in the distance. She wondered how her parents, the King and Queen of Ornovia, were getting on without her. Her mother used to get up as early as she could stand it and watch the sunrise from the balcony of the royal bedchamber she shared with the king, always saying that it was a great blessing and privilege to be able to see a new day rising.

“Ye dinna ever wanna take yer life fer granted, a leannan,” her mother’s voice echoed in her head. For a split second, her vision began to swim, and a panged flash of anxiety rushed through her bloodstream.
