Can you believe we only have two episodes left before The Way Home ends forever? “Tainted Love” is barrelling towards the big, defining moment of the season: the Lingemore explosion. It’s a tense episode, full of heartfelt moments that are — as the episode title somewhat implies — darkened by a sense of impending doom.

Never ask me how many times I’ve rewatched the scene where Garrett tells Hannah he loves her for the first time, and she says it back. The number will always be a little embarrassing, and I like to pretend that I’m a little chill. (Narrator: She’s never once been chill.) From big moments to small, if there’s one thing Off Campus nails beautifully, it’s casual intimacy. It’s vulnerability. 

The majority of Rivals Season 2 has been, thus far, a bit frustrating in pacing, and made even more irritating by the split-season arc. Still, the sixth episode is a wildly heart-wrenching episode, made incredible solely because of the performances from Claire Rushbrook and David Tennant.

“No one’s all right. We just say it.” Mood. We have a bunch of outstanding rom-coms on TV these days, but they almost feel like a lost art with movies. Thankfully, for an hour and forty-ish minutes, we can actually be all right by watching Office Romance. A true rom-com from beginning to end, penned brilliantly by Brett Goldstein and Joe Kelly.

The strength of Jane Austen‘s legacy is clearer than ever. Besides her own works, there is a whole world of Austen-esque books and adaptations to choose from. That includes the television version of The Other Bennet Sister, streaming now on BritBox. Based on Janice Hadlow’s novel, the story allows Mary Bennet from Pride and Prejudice her moment as the leading lady. Episode 7 features a pivotal turning point in Mary’s journey through an emotional conversation with her sister, Elizabeth. It is a heartbreaking and deeply authentic scene that has a lot to say about Mary as a character and her place in her family.

When the legendary Guillermo del Toro deems a movie as “a landmark in Mexican Stop-Motion animation and a true triumph of vision, tenacity, and love for the craft,” it’s hard not to feel immediately compelled to watch it. As the first-ever Mexican stop-motion animation from brothers Arturo and Roy Ambriz, I Am Frankelda shines as a breathtaking narrative about the importance of telling stories. Vibrant and enticing from start to finish, it’s not a feature to be missed.

The way the music swells. The sound of the dumbbells latching to the rack. Hannah’s choice. The brief smile right before Garrett says, “Don’t blush.” The way his fingers crawl up her back; the way hers thread through his hair and into his shirt. The fact that it intensifies without the lyrics. Hannah and Garrett’s practice kiss in Off Campus goes triple platinum, no matter how you look at it. It’s one of the most heart-pounding first fake kisses of all time because, really, point blank, everything is in the emotions neither of them can name at this moment. 

As we tick closer to the series finale, The Way Home‘s “Working My Way Back to You” starts peeling back key layers. It’s an interesting blend of messy family dynamics and romances where at least one person is keeping a major secret. We’re hitting some great emotional moments, but there are still a few points where things do feel like a “hurry and wrap it all up” situation.

The first season of Off Campus, Prime Video’s hockey romance series based on the books by Elle Kennedy, has only been streaming for less than three weeks, but we already know what to expect next season (which starts filming in British Columbia this summer). Season 1 centered around the first book in Kennedy’s series, The Deal, and told the love story of music major Hannah Wells and college hockey player Garrett Graham. The show had already been renewed for a second season a few months prior to Season 1’s premiere on May 13, and in an announcement video released on May 28, it’s now confirmed that Season 2 will focus on Dean Di Laurentis and Allie Hayes. 

When we last left Serenity, it was easy to wonder whether the show was changing Ty and Annie’s endgame solely based on the slight unease in which their relationship was panning out. And while drama in young adult relationships isn’t rare, it was also easy to hope that it’d maybe be the distance would merely be a blip in their relationship. But according to an exclusive with showrunner Sheryl J. Anderson at Us Weekly, Carson Rowland is indeed exiting the series ahead of the Sweet Magnolias Season 5 premiere, dropping early next month on June 11.

When I think about the first male romantic lead whose journey has stayed the longest with me, I always think about Nathan Scott. Twelve-year-old me had no business watching this little show called One Tree Hill, but she did it anyway, stopping at every magazine stand to see if there was an issue with a new poster for her gallery wall. To top this off, Nathan and Haley’s romance was integral in shaping the kind of fictional romance fan I’d become, serving as the blueprint in many ways for young and new adult dramas.

It’s been way too long since we last left Camden with the uncertainties that Trying Season 4 left us with through its wild finale, and now, at last, we not only have a release date for Trying Season 5, but a bit more information on where the season will take our favorite characters.

It’s not a hyperbole to say that as women, we have trust issues. Whether it’s because of our own distressing experiences or things we’ve seen and heard on the news, most men don’t exactly make it easy for us to trust them the same way we can trust a woman. We’re used to walking with our keys wedged between our knuckles or pepper spray in hand and ready. Some women are even used to their partners lashing out at them for anything and everything. Because of this, it isn’t surprising that I’m seeing a lot of women point out the gentleness in Garrett’s reaction to Hannah at the St. A’s game in Off Campus Season 1, Episode 7, “The Faceoff.” 

It’s only been out for a couple of weeks, but Off Campus, Prime Video’s latest book-to-screen adaptation, has taken the world by storm — and for good reason. We’ve got less than half a season left in the final season of The Way Home. That means it’s time to start getting some answers! Fortunately, “Yes Sir, That’s My Baby” starts giving them… kind of. It’s an episode that accelerates the pace of what has been a slow-and-steady season so far. I trust that the show will find a satisfying way to wrap things up, but there is still a lot of ground to cover! So, let’s dive in.

I’ve always had a hard time writing about music because I thought I had to understand every little detail about chords or melodies to form my thoughts eloquently. More than anything, it always felt like the words I could string together weren’t enough.

But Off Campus completely rewires this belief, making me understand that I don’t have to understand everything to recognize how it makes me feel, because that’s the thing with music that’s so special. The fact that a few weeks ago, we were all collectively drowning in a whole bunch of overwhelming feelings because of the emotions Noah Kahan’s The Great Divide was evoking. (And now I’m currently crying about an Off Campus fan edit that uses “Dan” as the backdrop to honor the found family within the show. It’s a great time over here.) 

TV or movies that aren't marketed as romance don't exactly owe us a happy ending. But in the words of the legendary Captain Raymond Holt, "everything is garbage." We deserve happiness and good things in the fiction we consume, and a lot of times, I think about that in terms of what characters deserve. And a character like Peter Parker deserves the world.
