When Glordon was young, he was very sickly. Sometimes, it got so bad that he had to stay in the palace's medical wing for days or even weeks. Asthra rarely left his side during these times, while Grigon... rarely showed up. Not because he didn't care, but because he couldn't bear to see his son in such a state and being unable to do anything about it. It made him feel weak, and he hated it—especially every time Asthra called him out on it, as their son constantly asked why he never visited.
The few times Grigon did gather the courage to go visit, Glordon was usually asleep. He'd watch his son sleep for a while, sometimes stroke his head, or even leave him a present.
Grigon almost missed Glordon's birth—the hatching of his egg, that is.
He was dealing with an uprising when the egg started cracking about two months before the due date. The message arrived when he was in the middle of a battlefield, and the generals debated whether they should inform him or wait until the battle was over. His brethren-in-arms had the common sense to know that if Grigon missed the birth of his only child, someone would pay the consequences—likely the people who knew and failed to inform him.
Naturally, Grigon abandoned the battle, left one of his Generals in charge, and departed for Hylurg. He made it in the nick of time just as Glordon broke through the shell... but the newborn larva didn't cry, and was very tiny even by a newborn's standards.
Would a Hylurgian approve of pyromania as a personality trait?
Of course! Fire is a big part of their culture, after all.
Did Redimus consider shaving his fur as part of trying to be a better swimmer?
He did consider it a few times. Marakeen talked him out of it, though, because he didn't need to change who he was just to fit him. She loved him the way he was, with fur and all.

Contrary to what one would expect, Grigon is actually pretty good at puzzles and games that require a sharp mind. Like, if you give him a Rubik’s cube, it’d take him about 20 minutes to solve it once he’s figured out how it works. And he’d absolutely be a master at chess once he catches on with it.
The only person who could’ve beaten him is Asthra.
When Garraxhar beat Garrek, did he leave any permanent scars on him?
Remember I said Grigon arrived in the nick of time to save Garrek? Well, Garraxhar was close to slitting his throat with his blade.
The wound left a scar. Garrek was afraid to look at his reflection ever since.
Is the Blood Emperor on par with the conceptual "god-king", or at least viewed as possessing a certain level of divinity?
Not really.
That role would go to the Priestesses of Shaak'vi, the physical embodiment of the War Goddess herself according to Hylurgian mythos.
Are there a lot of Sobr-born Hylurgian children? Do the Sobrekt have a term/label for them? How are they viewed and treated compared to their parents?
Just imagine them getting their own fanon nickname, like: "Soburgians"...
Most war prisoners try not to have children because they don't want to give the Sobrekt any potential leverage. There's others who don't mind, and
Sobrekt refer to these children as sobrumaret, lit. meaning 'born on Sobr'.
Did the Hylurgians begin their culture of colonization because they narrowly avoided extinction from fighting the Kal'ee?
I'd say it had more to do with resources and territory. They reverse-engineered Kal'ee technology to leave their homeworld, establishing mines in the neighboring star systems.
The aggressive aspect of their culture wouldn't start until other species from their galaxy started attacking those mining planets, wanting the resources for themselves.

Is hunting a regular pastime or rite of passage for Hylurgians?
Just a pastime. It's one of the favorite hobbies for soldiers stationed in other planets.
You said that one of the Sobrekt's Kurokran recently chose a Hylurgian born on Sobr from war prisoners, which has me believe that Sobr is that Hylurgian's true home instead of Hylurg. Would that Hylurgian fight for Sobr, join the Sobrekt army to fight in the Shuryo's name?
Well, she didn't exactly join the Sobrekt military of her own accord. She worked as a janitor, and when she went inside the kurokran's building to clean, one of them came out of its pool and chose her, AKA ate her.
This kurokran had been without a Kuro'kani for years, so the higher ups were desperate to find one; however, they not happy about a Hylurgian being chosen. They don't want them involved with their gessen, not even one with Sobrekt citizenship; unfortunately for them, if a kurokran eats you, you're in. They did try to find a replacement, and it didn't end well.
Since this Hylurgian was born on Sobr, she doesn't have any loyalty to Hylurg, unlike her parents, who are war prisoners and despite living there for centuries and having grown fond of the planet, would never think of betraying their Blood Emperor. She's heard of the Blood Wars, and is aware that her colleagues don't like her because of her species, but doesn't let it get to her. She has found a few friends amongst the maintenance crew, and especially her kurokran Izaka.
If she ever came across Grigon, she'd be all casual to him because she doesn't have the same reverence for the Blood Emperor that Hylurgians born in their natal planet could. And Grigon, of course, would do everything in his power to get information out of her.
What would you say was/is the most political and controversial situation in all Hylurg history?
Recently, Grigon tearing out of his carapace. He, the Blood Emperor, broke the most important taboo in Hylurgian culture. The backlash from the Noble Houses, including House Grimnt itself, was brutal. Many demanded that he abdicate the throne, even outright challenged him for it—you can imagine how that turned out for them.
However, the Hylurgian Armada didn't lose their respect for Grigon. He earned their loyalty through fire and blood; he's fought alongside them, leading them to victory again and again over the millenia. One choice, which he made for a completely understandable reason, doesn't erase that simple fact.
The people of Hylurg, AKA civilians, had mixed opinions on the matter, but most agreed that, if they were in his place, they would've done the same for their own kids.
Grigon's taming of a karkadax for the first time in millenia, and his eventual success in securing an alliance with the Sobrekt, kinda reivindicated him to an extent. But his reputation amongst House Grimnt never recovered, and now he had to watch his back from his own family.
How would a kurokran react if people tried to separate them from the kuro'kani they had chosen?
Very aggressively. They're fiercely protective of their kuro'kani.
What if a kurokran and karkadax fought each other?
The Karkadax can breathe fire and can grow even bigger than a Kurokran, so in a one-on-one fight it would win.
However, Kurokran can survive the vacuum of space, and their dark scales blend in on a dark environment such as, let's say, dark clouds. Plus, their claws and teeth are hard enough to tear into even Hylurgian metal.
The outcome of the battle depends on the circumstances.

The Ups and Downs of Fatherhood
Nobody said that having a kid was easy, but Grigon still does his best.
... Where's Asthra when you need her?
Unlike a mother's unconditional love, a father's bond is usually conditional. It is tied to his presence, his guidance, and the tangible actions that demonstrate his ability to protect. —Erich Fromm, The Art of Loving.
Grigon isn't perfect. He's short-tempered and standoffish, he gets frustrated by Glordon's personality, and the recent loss of Asthra has driven him to emotionally distance himself from his son as a defense mechanism.
But if he must get up in the early morning, no matter how tired he is, to tend to his crying larva, he will.
If he must go back home in the middle of a military campaign because Glordon is very sick, he will.
If he must tear out of his carapace, expose his soft flesh, and sacrifice his honor to save his son's life, he will.
Happy late Father's Day!
Finally, here's the ref for the kurokran. I previously posted my headcanons on it, but I wasn't done with the ref at the time.
