🌙✨Fighting evil by moonlight, winning love by daylight✨🌙
[These are commission works, please do not use!]
Commissioned by @/cloudling.creations on instagram and it’ll be available as enamel pin on their store ✨ ✨
when you call your reps to ask them to pretty please stop taking away your rights, remember:
In deep red areas you're a republican who is thinking of voting for someone else if they don't vote what you want on this specific bill because it impacts your republican ideals so very much
In swing states you're an undecided voter who's gonna go blue if they don't vote how you like
remember to call because that way their phone is going off and their peers can hear it because their offices are close together (emails and letters don't work like that), so it can rattle them if they get high volumes. remember that you gotta make them feel like they're losing something.
Talking points I've been using in my blood red state:
"I'm a small business owner and [example: anti-drag bill] is making me lose money!" OR "[Anti-drag bill] is going to cost us millions in taxable sales" - If you talk about how it's making you personally lose money and absolutely need to bullshit, you run a bar or do freelance photography. The intern they have on the other line does not have the resources or the know-how to check that.
"I'm concerned that [anti abortion bill] is the government infringing on my personal rights." - Self explanatory.
"[Anti-gay bill] goes against family values in my church." - They aren't going to call your local Pentecostal chapter to fact check this. You don't even need to be Pentecost, you just need to assert that you're part of a community and a major voting bloc.
Remember: In smaller towns, literally every vote counts. And voters generally don't call in, so your call can carry quite the advantage.
#i know people have started criticizing the#‘men are afraid of getting laughed at women are afraid of getting killed’#but this is real?
Oh, yes.
A few years ago I went to pick up a woman I met on OKCupid for a date, and a friend of hers was there. They kind of over-explained “Oh, she just showed up to say hi” and there was a vague nervousness in the air that even my autistic ass was picking up on. Her friend was playing conspicuously with her phone. I went “Ah, the safety. Need to get a picture?”
Dead silence for about a second and a half, then the friend took a picture, looked at my date, and said “Have fun” and walked out the door.
(I would ordinarily have been clueless, but I’d just been asked to be the safety the previous night.)
My advice to male-presenting folks: recognize that this not your problem. By which I mean, this sort of security check isn’t a problem for you. It doesn’t hurt you. You aren’t being insulted or disrespected. And if you treat it like what it is– a reasonable adaptation to an unreasonable situation– and just roll with it, your dates will be more comfortable, and you will have a better time as a result.
The same applies to phone calls mid-date. Let them answer the damn phone without drama.
They aren’t accusing you of being a dangerous person. The very fact that they are willing to go on a goddamn date with you means that they have extended a certain level of trust. But the fact remains that there isn’t really a way to distinguish between “a man who isn’t dangerous” and “a man who knows how to behave like he’s not dangerous.”
there isn’t really a way to distinguish between “a man who isn’t dangerous” and “a man who knows how to behave like he’s not dangerous.”
This thread is hysterical.

Being the person that needs to nap after every big meal is so embarrassing. I apologize for being a 1 week old
Actually you are so right.......
A reality TV show where theres a load of vulcans living in a house. They must spot the human imposter. The plot twist? They are all actually humans
“’T’Kal’- if that is your real name- you are being voted off because you placed the toilet roll in the holder the wrong way.”
“Why? This is the most logical way to do it.”
“Pack your things, T’Kal.”
'and our hands brushed and you did not react'
'that's because i do not find you attractive Sponk'
“Illogical, have you SEEN me?”
The human reveal is a plot twist, for both the contestants and the audience. Vulcan viewership is surprisingly high, as they are curious to see how well a single human can do.
Each has a favorite “Vulcan”, so imagine their shock to discover that not only was the final contestant human, *all* of their favorites were human.
The show boosts Vulcan admiration for the human ability to control their emotions.
(The tv execs try to convince the Vulcan to participate in a new show, with Vulcans posing as humans, but they’re quickly shot down.)
Vulcans: so... Humans are capable of controlling their emotions, but only from spite?
Throwback Thursday: It was 5 years ago when we were celebrating award season for The Shape Of Water, and I got to live my dream of being in an old musical dance number (dressed as an Amphibian Man, of course) with the amazing Sally Hawkins.
i think more of you need to embrace the fact that a character can be a favorite BECAUSE they are a freakish loathsome hateful black-hearted despicable creature, NOT in spite of it

I made a baby blanket for a pregnant woman at work and I went back and forth about it like “is this weird? To like hand make something for someone when we’re like friendly acquaintances not like bffs. God why are you so fucking awkward.” Anyway I gave it to her and she said she loved it and in the back of my head I’m like yea she’s nice and probably just humoring the weirdo. Well she texted me a picture this weekend of a scrunchy faced newborn at the hospital wrapped in the blanket I made her. And I’m like. Wow. She loved it so much she took it with her! To the hospital! To give birth! She wrapped her newborn it! I am just so filled with love and joy right now.
People will love the things you make them. Because you thought of them and you cared.
I made a quilt for one of my college professors once. He and his wife had some trouble with the pregnancy and she was on bed rest for a while. He’d mentioned it to us because he might have to leave in the middle of class if something drastic happened. Nothing did happen in the end, but I knew this was a big deal for them so I made a quilt. The first real one I’d ever made.
It was an bilingual alphabet quilt. Both the dad and mom spoke Japanese and that was a big part of their lives so I made a quilt with the English alphabet and a hand embroidered picture of something that matched the letter with both the English and Japanese word for it. I appliquéd the letters and designed all the embroideries myself. It was a lot of work but when I found my professor to give it to him he almost cried when I showed him. They sent me a picture of the baby on the quilt that I still have even though the baby is I think 12 now. For a while they had it hung on the kid’s bedroom wall and they said he would bow to it in the morning to show his gratitude and respect for the work put into it.
If you think someone is worth making something for you should do it! It’s an act of love and care in a world that is so often bereft of it.

I made a few little velvet stegosaurs for my nephew and niece a few years ago, and the one I made first didn't turn out quite as good as I wanted. Nothing actually wrong with it, per say, but I learned a lot about the pattern and I wanted the nap on the velvet going the other way on the "plates" on the back. I kept it and made two 2.0 versions for the niece and nephew.
A month or two after I made it, some work friends had their baby. A little boy! We went to see them in their new house and I took the steggy along for baby boy. As it turns out, the steggy became his special bedtime toy. He cannot sleep without it, It's his favourite toy of all! It makes me feel so incredibly honoured that he chose this little thing I made to keep him safe at night.

okay tumblr’s exclusion from the twitter social media ban list is hilarious but genuinely we do not belong on there. if a real human person asks “where can i find you on social media” and your choice is a swift death or revealing your tumblr, most of us would simply expire. half of y’all change urls every week like you’re in witness protection. just imagine for one second attaching your wholeass government name to your latest two am clownposting and tell me that didn’t send a cold chill down your spine. the only place i ever want to see the words “connect with me on tumblr!” is on the ao3 profile of an author i’m actively stalking. anyone in the world can follow me except anyone i personally know. antisocial media.
burning to death because i can’t remember the secret maneuver that’s different from every other car on earth or because i never read the manual or because it’s a rental or because it’s a rideshare or because i’m in the back seat and the driver is incapacitated (due to the fire currently burning us to death) or i’m a child
