Lacuna Lab

This piece by Nuño is a movement-responsive lamp. Designed as a minimal tensegrity sculpture, the lamp changes its configuration of colors in response to the orientation and movements of the whole structure. In other words, depending on its orientation, the lamp turns to a certain color, brightness and light mode.

As a part of the Lacuna Lab Activation Exhibition (vimeo.com/171125927), the Altsndtrk team developed a live version of the project that sampled two concurrent sounds depending on movement in the webcam. The sounds ebb and flow and crackle depending on the position, amplitude, and angle of the maximum flow vector, seen in the video as the thicker line. At the exhibition we used a wide angle cam to take in the whole of the room, such that people walking or lights dancing would create an eerie atmospheric soundtrack.

Lacuna Lab - Exhibition “Activation”

For three days, Spektrum is overgrown by Lacuna Lab, a Berlin-centred collective of trans-disciplinary artists. For the collective's inaugural exhibition, spores of ideas waft across the canal from their studio on Paul-Lincke-Ufer, taking root as a multi-channel network of biology- and technology-based pieces. These objects and installations draw input from their surroundings in Spektrum, the audience, and one another, creating a playful environment of screens, textiles, lights, lasers, plants, water vapor, and interwoven generative sounds. Opening with a live-generated audio-visual-dance performance, this exhibition investigates collaboration, perception, growth and decay. Lacuna Lab is a collaborative co-creation space in Berlin Kreuzberg. They mix logic and beauty to create interactive works, driven by imagination, playfulness, and experimentation. They love partnering with others on projects and collaborations, and sharing what they learn through public exhibitions, classes, and workshops.
