🎩     Annie? 

       Pea felt a bit embarrassed, with everything that’s been going on lately. To her own surprise, she remembered that not once since she got back to the lab. Had the thought of even touching the remote to the tele’ even crossed her mind. But one thing was for sure, there was going to be long nights of no sleep with all the episodes she missed. 

      “W-Well, ah’ haven’t really been watchin’ Annie. Got some business outside of tha’ lab lately. So, I asked the kiddies ta’ keep her on record.” She then poked her cheek, making a goofy smile his way. “But don’t worry Doc, believe me. When I start Annie up again you’ll be completely updated. Speakin’ of which~”♫ 

——The tiny girl bounced up from her chair, moving over to where Avian was. Her arms moved up sitting slightly on the edge of his desk. All six glowing orbs looking around at his messy work space. “What’s all this stuff? That there Brain Drain still tryin’ ta’ compete with ya’?”

The doctor didn’t question her ‘business’, assuming maybe she made some friends outside the lab. That would be a very nice thing if it was true. A small chuckle left his mouth however, when she said that she’d tell him everything. 

“As long as we can do it over a cup of tea and snacks.” Avian said in response to the keeping him updated. He paused and looked over to her before back to the paper in his hand. “Well....I’m not sure Brain Drain is really competing with me so much as he thinks his lab is sincerely superior to ours. But, yes some of this is new ideas for some things, others are just notes I’ve written down.”

🎩     “Mmm…” No way was it easy on her. It took every ounce of being she had to stop herself from saying. ‘Just go ahead Marie, we neva’ saw each other.’ Something along those lines. But, Pea knew if she did anything like that, that she would surely be seen as a traitor to the lab. Just as low as Valentine, or Dahlia. 

—–Peacock sighed heavily, inching her way over to a chair. The doc had gotten hurt pretty bad through the whole situation. The last thing she wanted was him to stress out over ‘how she feels’. So like any child her age, Patty showed those darling chompers of hers. Carrying that uncanny fake look she had whenever the girl tried to pass off a lie. “I’m fine doc, it’s water unda’ the bridge now. I should be askin’ ‘you’ if yer’ alright. Vale n’ the… others kicked this place around good. Not ta’ mention you.”

Avian watched Peacock for a few moments, taking in her words and how she was saying them. Staying silent for a few moments he turned back to his work, reading over a report about something. It was a few moments before he spoke up again.

“I’m fine Peacock. A few aches here and there but aside from that nothing that you would need to worry about” That wasn’t the whole truth however. His pain that would arise was more then a simple ache, but the old man didn’t let it phase him. He needed to make sure he could stop the skullheart for good.

She let go and grinned up to him, “Got it! So glad ta haveya back gramps!”

“I never left though Peacock.” Avian said, gently patting her shoulder “What made you think otherwise?”

She smiled softly, “well… t’ me… I…” she figured she ought not to say what she saw.
