one of the biggest things i realised when i realised i am a lesbian was that i dont have to care about men. that sounds miniscule and obvious but like, its on so many levels that im still in the process of slowly realising that i absolutely 100% dont have to care about men at all. i dont have to care about whether men look good or not, i dont have to care about what they say, or think, or how they act. i dont have to care about being appropriate in the way men see it, i dont have to care about anything involving men or regarding men and like. thats literally so freeing, in a world dominated by men its such a relief to realise that what they say or think or do doesnt have to mean shit to me
