âConfident is my middle nameâŚ.as well as handsome, charming, daring, beautifulâŚ..â he replied, smirk widening. âBesides, you could never turn down this face-â he added smugly. In his eyes, Remus was ready to leave with him, he even made a conscious effort to pick up a few of the quills and book next to him and handed them out to his friend with a grin. âYou can do your work and reading whilst I nap and I promise I wonât bug you further.â Sirius wasnât like this with the other marauders, with Peter it was almost a feeling like if James and Remus werenât with them, Sirius wouldnât know what to talk about with him. He counted Peter as a friend, he trusted him like he did the others. His brothers as he referred them to. With James, it was more of a boisterous, banter fuelled friendship built around feeding each others egos but with Remus? Remus was the one where Sirius regressed to almost a childlike behaviour. A child who craved reassurance, comfort, touch.Â
Remus stared at Sirius, fighting back a smile while his face felt warm. Sirius was so incredibly obnoxious and Remus hated just how endearing it was. âYouâre pushing it,â he said, his smiling coming through as he took the quills and book from his hand. He waited a few more moments of harsh deliberation before huffing and standing up. It was hard knowing the fine line of what was better for him and what he really wanted to do. âFine, Iâll go with you,â he said and started to put his books into his bag.Â
@baredwitche
â busted . â she chortled , her eyes quickly scanning through the unfinished essay , recognizing the assignment as the one that was due tomorrow . she slid into the chair next to him , causing the chair to creak and raised her eyebrow in question . habitually remus was the dilligent one â- a trait shared with her , so seeing him trying to scrape something together at the last minute puzzled her . despite the curiosity scratching at the back of her throat , she decided to go for a different approach , gathering that he would tell her the truth eventually . â do you need any help ? â
Remus huffed and pushed his work away from him. He crossed his arms then pinched the bridge of his nose. ââm just tired is all,â he mumbled before looking up and giving her a smile. He thought about it before continuing, âI might just need a bit of helpâ he admitted looking down at his notes and how it was nowhere near completed.Â
It was a rare moment of solitude in their dorm - the kind of solitude Peter constantly craved, where it was just him and Remus and no one else was around to add that strange social pressure he absolutely couldnât stand adhering to. He never needed to censor himself or edit his behavior when it was just the two of them. It wasnât as though he thought of the other lad as someone who wasnât worth expending the effort into trying to impress, but he knew Remus looked at him and understood him. It was a mutual understanding - the kind that James and Sirius would never be able to relate to, and that was by no fault of their own. It was what it was. When they were alone he liked to sit close to Remus - closer than he would ever dare to in public. Close enough for the sides of their legs to touch, for their shoulders to brush against one another. Occasionally heâd lean in a bit, or let his fingers brush against Remusâ hand, just to satisfy the hunger for skin to skin contact gnawing so viciously at him. He liked to think he was satisfying something similar inside of the other Gryffindor too. David Bowieâs Hunky Dory was playing on record quietly in the background, and as badly as Peter wanted to light up a fag he liked the warmth of Remusâ body against him even more than the pleasure smoking gave him. He could quit, he thought, if he had a hand to hold on a regular basis. Maybe. He knew he went extreme with his vices, that he let them completely control him - biscuits were his master before tobacco. He pitied that hypothetical hand, because heâd squeeze it so hard its bones would shatter and be rendered so useless, and it would have no choice to stay with him â â he cleared his throat. To think such disturbing thoughts next to the person he cared about more than anyone else in his life was absolutely twisted and he tried not to wear his shame on his face. Instead, he decided to break the comfortable silence theyâd fallen into before it became awkward and one of them slowly shifted away to go off and do something more entertaining than just sitting with a mate listening to music. âAny interesting stories from your rounds, Moons? How many cheeky bastards have tried to talk their way out of trouble this week?â He paused, and shifted his position a bit so he could get a better look at his friendâs face. âAnd how many of them happened to be named Sirius Black?â He rolled his eyes playfully, a light grin on his face to compliment the teasing tone of voice he was using. âI could never be a prefect, Iâd be flattened into nothing letting him walk all over me ⌠dunno how you manage it.â
@l00pinâ
Remus was completely lost in thought as he and Peter sat on the floor in their dorm leaning against his own bed. He was leaning into him slightly listening to the music and content with the comfort of the body heat next him. He was grateful for his quiet moments with Peter, James was almost always loud and trying to start something, and Sirius... well Sirius drove him crazy in every way possible. Every quiet night with Sirius had an underlying tension that left him breathless, something Remus both wanted more of but was always desperate to escape. But Peter was comforting in a way that he could fully relax because he wasnât worried about how the other felt about him. Itâs not that he didnât care about Peter, he did a great amount. Remus trusted him and could always tell when he felt he was being left behind. Peter was intelligent, funny, and Remus often thought he didnât look half bad. He just wished Peter could see himself that way. Whenever they were sitting like this, he found himself thinking about how he may feel differently about Peter if Sirius wasnât in the picture.
When Peter brought up his prefect duties he didnât realize how far away his thoughts had brought him. âHm?â He said sitting up a bit straighter thinking back to earlier in the evening. âSame as every night, blokes who have never spoken to me try to be my best mate, while the girls bat their eyelashes and tell me how long theyâve secretly been into me,â he scrunched his nose in frustration. When Peter mentioned Sirius, Remus chuckled and bit the inside of his cheek to stop a smile. He wasnât sure if Peter knew exactly how he felt, it was a topic he usually actively avoided. It was one thing to have his friends stay with him through his furry problem, it was another if he had to come out to them as a poof as well. That being said he couldnât help but notice how Peter looked at James when he thought he wasnât being watched. âPads seems to get away with everything, and he knows itâ he said before giving his friend a small nudge. âHeyâ donât say that, you could easily do this job, if I can do it so can you,â he said defensively.
@xbewareofthedogx
Sirius let out a huff of laughter, taking his seat next to Remus before swinging his legs up onto the table. âMust admit, its not my usual haunt. However, I sacrificed my dignity and pride and made my way here because I just had this feeling youâd be here. That sounds less creepier than saying I smelt you to here.â he said with a small smirk. Sirius was probably the most blase about the animagus thing, compared to the other marauders. He felt a bit better seeing a smile on Remusâs face. It hurt him at times, to see and feel how he was. Sirius dug into his pocket, removing a small bar of chocolate. âI thought I could tempt you to come back to the towerâŚ.mainly because I want a nap and your lap is a great pillow.â
Remus smiled at the small, but thoughtful gesture. He started to stack together his empty pieces of parchment. Funny how just moments ago he was craving solitude with as little interruptions as possible, but the moment Sirius showed proper interest, his walls quickly came down. âRather confident of you to assume Iâd be your pillow, even with bribery,â he said with a smug look as he began gathering his things hesitantly.Â

âAlright, so, Iâm in the middle of a major project and youâre the one I need to help me. Weâre trying to determine just how much more attractive I am than Sirius. I know I am, but we need an actual mathematical way to prove it, and thatâs where you come in. So, if you had to rank our attractiveness on a scale out of ten, where would we fall?â
Remus had been sitting in the common room near the fire. He was sitting on one of the couches with majority of his weight leaning on the armrest, sifting through his week of reading when he heard James barrel in. He sat up a little straighter and put his book down on his lap. At first he was confused, knowing they didnât have any major projects coming up, but the moment he heard the ridiculousness of the question he blinked at his friend and picked back up his book. âProngs mate, you are asking the wrong person if you want both honesty and to not have your feelings hurt,â he said trying not to laugh.
@fawling-ivy
âalright, alright,â she said, laying her hands on the table as she folded under remusâ pleas. less dramatic, no scene causingâŚ.sure, itâd be boring, but she could do it. if she had to. âi expect itâs because youâre charmers, the lot of you, but just because you turn them down doesnât mean they donât still happen⌠heâs still got sirius and petey for yes men, after all,â she reminded him, but this time her laughter was more gentle, and as she flipped her hair over her shoulder she had a softer smile for him. âso youâre proposing we justâŚ. do the assignment?â
Remus laughed at her comment about Jamesâ having yes man, she was completely right, everywhere Jamesâ went he was hardly ever hit with a no as a response. It was exhausting yet exhilarating being his friend, and Remus wouldnât have it any other way. He huffed and looked back down at the assignment. âI didnât quite say we were going to do it, I only agreed to not make a sceneâ he said as he picked up his quill again. âbut, I do think suffering together instead of alone is a much better way to get through itâ
@fawling-ivy
she laughed at that, watching as remus took his paper back. âyouâre one to talk, arenât you?â she teased, giving the boy a grin. âheâd never come up with something that clever, heâd⌠pick a bad excuse and let it grow into something so wild youâd say yes to anything to shut him up.â shrugging, she leaned forward, leveling a faux-serious look at the boy. âunfortunately, though, my sources say noâŚ. and my source is a magic 8 ball, soâŚâ leaning back into her chair once more,t he grin was back, and so was the mischief in her eyes. âi could totally get away with thisâŚ. and if worse comes to worst, you know, just⌠paint it like a nervous breakdown. problem solved, student admitted to infirmary for dramatics.â
Remus gave her a pleading look. âIvy, you really donât have to cause a scene,â he said knowing it was falling onto deaf ears. He scoffed at her comment. âIâll have you know I turn down Jamesâ stupid ideas constantly,â he said with a smug smirk. âHow do you think we havenât gotten expelled yet?â He hadnât gotten as much one on one time with Ivy as he wanted to after hearing of his close friends' recent relationship. They had been acquaintances of course, but even after this quick interaction, he could understand the attraction between the two.Â
@fawling-ivy
she could laugh at that, finding it described her own situation pretty well, too. a boring essay was no excuse for not doing it - theyâd had plenty of those, but this one just seemed impossible. âyeah, right into a wall of bullshit block, right?â she offered, shaking the laugh away with a shrug as she slid into the open seat he gestured to. âitâs more than iâve got. and itâs a pretty solid start, to boot,â she pointed out, âif you reworded it some, you might find where your train of thought derailed and manage to get it finished.â
dragging a foot beneath her to make herself a little taller, she leaned onto the tabletop, chin on her hand. âhonestly?â she asked, laughing again and flipping her hair out of her face, âi was one hundred percent planning to have a library accident.. lots of tears, crocodile and real, double whammy, all the pityâŚ.it sounds awful, i know, but hear me out. you could rescue me before i get too hurt, you know? just a day or two laid up in the hospital wing to recover from my emotional turmoil, and rest up, and not do this essayâŚ. you could be a hero, rem. what do you think? we still have time.â
Remus blinked and stared blankly at her unsure if she was joking. âIvy, I think youâve been spending too much time with Jamesâ he said in an almost warning tone. âI donât think they allow studentâs in the hospital wing for being dramatic,â he said with a laugh taking back his essay from her. âBesides, Iâm a prefect. I wouldnât be a very good one if I helped you out with this one,â He reminded, leaning forward and resting his elbows on the table. âCould I be a hero by making us both write it?â he added not fully convinced himself.
@xbewareofthedogxâ
Finding Remus wasnât normally this difficult, he would almost say they could smell each other out what with both their animal counterparts but Sirius felt he had been looking for hours. He only noticed Remus wasnât with them when he needed someone to lay his head on for a nap and the usual victim known as Remusâs lap was not there to pander to his need. The library was his last shot but low and behold after looking down a few of the stacks there he was- Sirius picked up instantly, from the way he was slumped to just his general aura that he wasnât in the best of states. He walked over slowly, not wanting to frighten him and came to a stop at the table. A small frown graced his forehead as he gently laid a hand on Remusâs shoulder. âHeyâŚâ
Remus looked up when he felt a hand on his shoulder, he could read the concern on his friends face. He gave him a smile and quickly flipped his book closed to try and push the concern away. Seeing Sirius made him feel a mix of emotions, mostly guilty for hiding away from him, but a fair bit of him was comforted by him being here. âHey,â he said maintaining eye contact for a moment before grabbing his bag off the chair next to him to offer up the seat. âDidnât think Iâd see you here,â he said honestly, looking away from him.Â

Remus was sitting at a table in the library mindlessly flipping through pages of a book he should have already read. He could only take in a few sentences before his mind would drift off elsewhere. He had his half written essay beside him that he knew he wasnât going to add to for the rest of the night. Usually being the nagging friend in the group he wasnât about to let the guys know he too hadnât started until last minute.
He felt residual exhaustion after his recent furry problem, and he felt as though he was never going to have his energy back. With a huff he shut the book and crossed his arms thinking of ways to start the project over. Lost in debating if he should just give up now, he didnât realize the student walking by had stopped at his table.
âyou alright, rem?â she asked, tilting her head as she regarded the boy. it wasnât often you saw remus left to his own devices - and a little peace- in the library, and she didnât want to intrude, but his frustration was palpable, and ivy, well.. ivy just couldnât help herself sometimes. stepping back up to the table, her fingers toyed with his essay, twisting it until she could read it, nosy thing that she was.
âdid you stall out?â she asked, eyes falling back on her housemate. he just looked so bothered... ivy hated it. no essay should leave anyone looking that stressed, especially not remus. âi havenât finished mine either, if it makes you feel any better. itâs just so...boring, i canât.â Â

Remus sat up a little straighter when he heard Ivyâs voice, immediately putting on a small smile. âOh, hey Ivy,â he said while uncrossing his arms. He closed the book he wasnât really reading. âIt feels like more than a stall, more like... crash and burned,â he said with a joking tone though there was far more truth to it. He let out a sigh, Ivy not starting her work wasnât necessarily comforting, but at least another fairly good student wasnât doing their best. He turned his essay back towards him reading the last couple of lines before shaking his head and pushed it away again. âI might not even turn this one inâ he admitted and looked back up at the girl in front of him, motioning towards the empty chair across from him. âBut enough about my misery, what brought you to the library tonight?âÂ
