I'm experimenting with a new technique: honeycomb smocking.

My original plan was to pair it with the skirt I made earlier for a simpler, more understated look. I may have made the smocked panel a little too narrow... but that's what experiments are for. 😅

I found out that this skirt fits a 1/4 MJD as well.

I made the headband, bow, skirt, and the little cat plush myself. The blouse, wig, socks, and shoes are all from other talented makers.

I really like the cute vintage vibe of this outfit.

The mock-up for this six-panel skirt is finally finished. After so many adjustments, it ended up fitting a DD body instead of the SD13 girl body I originally drafted it for.

To be honest, I can barely stand looking at it anymore after all those revisions. 😅

This is also my first attempt at making clothes for a 1/3 scale doll.

The outfit isn't fully dressed yet, since I haven't found a suitable obiage and obijime to match the obi, which has quite a bold personality of its own.

I named this outfit "Crab Stick Sushi." It was made from one of my mom's old garments and a piece of photography backdrop fabric. If you look closely, you'll notice visible signs of wear on the obi. The original fabric had a black printed stripe running across part of the red-and-white pattern, and somehow it reminded me of imitation crab on sushi.

The obi actually started as a fun experiment. After countless revisions, this is probably the fourth or fifth version—and the final one, because I've used up all of that printed fabric.

Of course, sushi needs white rice. However, completely white kimono are relatively uncommon in traditional Japanese clothing, so I added embroidery to create more depth and texture while hopefully making the design feel a little more in keeping with kimono aesthetics.

I also tried to include several kimono details that I've learned about, such as the miyatsukuchi openings, a neckline that creates the erin o nuku look, extra length for ohashori, and a double collar to imitate the appearance of wearing a juban underneath.

The kimono is fully lined, so I think it would probably fall somewhere between a casual cotton kimono and a more modern fashion-inspired design.

That said, I'm still learning about kimono construction and etiquette, so there are almost certainly things I don't know yet. If you notice any mistakes, I'd genuinely appreciate your feedback in the comments.

I finished the main body of the kimono this time, and I hope it pairs well with the obi sash I made earlier.

I also tried embroidery for the first time on this piece... I just hope it turned out okay.

The image shows a portion of the embroidery; the blue marks are from a water-soluble pen.

The other process photos aren't very clear, and the background is cluttered due to the work environment, so they aren't suitable for sharing.

Likewise, for this shoot, I tried to go for a style different from my usual ones—though I’m skeptical as to whether it’s actually all that different.

P.S. This outfit is likely just a "nun-style" design rather than an accurate reproduction of actual religious vestments.

Ito wore a dress I made myself; the top appeared in a previous post, and I restyled her hair.

The red and white stripes really gave it a sushi restaurant vibe. I also made a kimono obi (sash) from the same fabric—but I don't know when I'll be able to finish making the kimono myself.

Because I've been playing Stardew Valley lately.

By the way, this cafe now has a new little dog.

I especially love this glass fish tank. The goldfish are constantly swimming, while the dolls are still.

The doll in the pink dress is Suzu, written as "雀" in Chinese. This character usually refers to the order Passeriformes. If you were to sculpt her as an animal, I think she would be a white canary.

She came to my house with Ito, so perhaps she could be considered Ito's sister.

I don't photograph them much, even though Regulus was my first Super Dollfie and Reisner is one of my favorite face models.

Simply because they're too heavy, inconvenient to carry around, and posing them isn't as easy as with the girls. I don't have that much passion for buying them clothes and taking photos.

Because Reisner's makeup had a… disastrous accident, I'll be sending him to get his face repainted in a while.

Is May really late spring...? Whatever! Dolls don't need to consider the season when it comes to clothing.

Because of exams, I'm a bit stressed (and my studies aren't going well either), so I haven't had much time for photoshoots lately.

This is the newest member of my family!

Her name is いと（Ito）, written in Chinese as 【伊都】.

In Japanese, this name means "a person who, though far away, is connected to a vast and beautiful place, and who is like a flowery, thriving heart."

【いとしい】 means lovable, and I think she fits that description perfectly.

However, pronouncing it in Chinese evokes a sense of the "City of the Moon" from classical Japanese literature.

Because 【伊】 in Chinese means "over there." Therefore, 【伊都】 means "the distant capital," which is the "City of the Moon."

In my imagination, the "City of the Moon" is an ideal world, transcending the mortal realm. Dolls can be seen as an ideal, noble self.

Most of the above is just my far-fetched interpretation.

Both outfits were released in 2021. Although they're not from the same store, their color schemes and main elements are somewhat similar, and they perfectly match my impression of a character from a recent game I've been enjoying!

A photography practice session using Velvet as the model (2023-2026)

Velvet is clearly the most willful member of our family, and I still don't understand her personality at all.

When Velvet isn't keen on participating in photoshoots, the photos noticeably suffer. But I can't do anything about it because she's just so adorable.

In my mind, Velvet and Regulus are lovers, and she and Reisner are step-siblings.

Maybe I'll have Maki as Velvet's sister someday.
