Once upon a time
Groot came from a planet called Planet X, growing up alongside many other like him, but never really fit in. He appreciated all life around him, unlike the other Flora Colossi. He got into an argument with another one for hurting one of the many animals living on the planet and soon escaped, wanting to see what else was out there. It was on this journey he became friends with Rocket Racoon and traveled around the galaxy, becoming Rocket’s muscle as they collected bounty after bounty. They were the perfect pair and no one could stop them.
He ran into Peter Quill and Gamora with Rocket and was arrested alongside them all. The escape did not go as planned because of him, but it still worked and they became the Guardians of the Galaxy, but not after Groot sacrificed himself to save his new friends. But being a Flora Colossi, he regrew from a twig and being raised within his newfound family.
Key to success
As a Guardian of the Galaxy, it was their job to protect the Universe from all threats. And after hearing about S.W.O.R.D, the Guardians aided in the establishment of Peak. After all, it was the Earth’s way of defending itself from the likes of the Skrulls….again. Groot, who was back to being an adult, signed the Act with Rocket, not wanting to be apart from his family.

Sometimes, Groot goes to Earth, to explore, see people, sometimes he also help and work in a small flowers shop.
