Another shot of arousal curled in Blaine’s stomach upon hearing those words. It was one thing to feel wanted, but quite another to be wanted by Kurt - that thought alone turned him on like no other. The promise he made to Kurt that night, about keeping things above the waist for now had long been forgotten as he deftly undid Kurt’s pants and pushed the fabric down his hips, his legs, before dropping it onto the floor without much thought. Blaine felt a familiar flicker of excitement in his stomach as Kurt entered his room and looked around, like this was a step in the right direction in terms of how their relationship should be progressing. Kurt’s movement caught Blaine’s eye, and the next thing he knew, Kurt was already in front of him, sliding his arms around his neck and eliciting a small gasp from him. “Right…my closet.” He stepped forward a little and whispered against Kurt’s lips, running his hands up Kurt’s thighs before putting them low on his waist and pulling him closer. “I need to show you my bedroom, then.” His entire body was tingling somewhere between excitement and want - a feeling he hadn’t felt in a very long time. Kurt was basically giving him the go-ahead, and he could feel his self-control slowly crumbling away as he briefly considered the idea of just ripping off Kurt’s clothes without asking, but the gentleman in him had reservations against doing something like that. So, he leaned forward and breathed out a ‘Kurt’ against his boyfriend’s ear instead, before moving his lips slowly down the side of Kurt’s ear, jaw, and then his neck, kissing and nipping at his skin. “I really want to blow you. Can I?”

“You really don’t know how to take a compliment do you? Even if it’s about your apartment,” Kurt smirked and shook his head.  He glanced around the place and tried to think of a time when he would move in with Blaine and they could make this place their home.  Maybe Blaine would let him redecorate a little bit.  Kurt could add little touches about each of them to Blaine’s place and then it wouldn’t be just Blaine’s apartment.  It would be theirs.  He didn’t know if it was too soon to talk about it, much less think about it, but he couldn’t help that it was on his mind.

Blaine was equal parts nervous and excited on the way home; his entire body was just buzzing and tingling with energy, with how unreal this felt. How did a simple lunch led to them skipping school and heading over to his place instead? Okay, perhaps it wasn’t that simple, and Blaine was pretty much to blame, for putting on the moves and seducing Kurt in broad daylight. To be completely honest, he wasn’t really thinking when he did that, but he enjoyed it all the same. He enjoyed drawing that side out of Kurt, a side which, Blaine was more than happy and eager to accept. Kurt wasn’t the only one who would like to do a little more than just cuddling. Blaine was equally turned on as well, and he had an inkling that Kurt could see right through him, despite his best efforts to remain composed and courteous. 

“Here we are.” Blaine smiled as he pushed the key into the lock and opened the door, stepping aside to let Kurt enter the room first. “It’s honestly rather mediocre compared to yours, but at least it’s compact and cozy.” He remarked casually, closing the door behind him. Inside, the walls were lined with hunter green and cream striped wallpaper, with monochromatic wood panelling along the bottom. There were piles of music sheets and anthologies lying around, as well as books, gaming consoles, and an electronic keyboard he had brought with him from home. There wasn’t too much going on since he had left all of his pictures, posters, trophies, and camera models back at home, but he had everything he needed here, not to mention the piano that came with the place, which, was the deciding factor in his decision to sign the lease. “So, what do you think?”

Blaine wrinkled his nose slightly, eyes dancing with a twinkle as they bore into Kurt’s, “Let’s agree to disagree, but I hope that you’ll still find me cute and hot even when I’m old and gray. No take backs.” He teased, taking a moment to actually picture them growing old together and smiling fondly at that mental image in his mind. He knew he was getting ahead of himself, but quite frankly, his future had already been decided for him the moment he walked into that coffee shop. “You’re the most beautiful person to ever grace this earth, and nothing and no one can persuade me otherwise. And I’m not just talking about your looks, Kurt.” While Blaine chose to run away from most things out of fear and feelings of inadequacy, Kurt stood tall and proud and faced them anyway - again, and again. Kurt had a strength he didn’t possess; Kurt was beautiful, in every sense of the word. “We should go drinking and dancing someday…gives me an excuse to cling to you, as you said. We could even invite Rachel. I still owe her a duet, after all.”

Kurt opening up and telling Blaine all about his dreams was unexpected, but it was also deeply moving and endearing at the same time. Blaine felt like he was now one step closer to peeling off all of those layers and getting to know the man underneath them. “If that’s your dream, then it’s mine to be there for you and support you through everything else until you get there.” He said with equal parts of passion and conviction, as if he had just received his life’s mission. “Have you already thought of a name for your own line?” He asked afterwards, resting his chin on his palm. A soft smile overtook his features as he glanced down to where their fingers were connected, relishing in the fact that he could now easily reach out and hold onto Kurt’s hand anytime he wanted, considering there was a time when he couldn’t. “I guess we both got lucky.” He murmured, feeling his heart doing a somersault in his chest at the way Kurt’s thumb was rubbing against his skin, leaving him slightly breathless. 

“I don’t think my brother understood it either, but he did try to help in his own way…” Blaine paused then, trailing off quietly. It hit him then that he had forgotten to text Cooper when he said that he would, but then again, their relationship had always been a little convoluted, given their age gap. Cooper had bigger, better things to focus on, anyway. “It was the same for me. Even though I knew it was wrong, but I just- I couldn’t stop thinking about you. It felt…right to be with you, but it was also a lot more than just that. I genuinely lo- like,” He caught himself at the last minute and corrected his words, clearing his throat a little and giving Kurt a nervous smile before continuing like nothing had happened, “I genuinely like you as a person. If you were a religion, I’d be a hopeless devotee. Not that I’m not already one. That’s how crazy I am about you, Kurt.”

Blaine let out a quiet gasp when he felt Kurt’s ankle brushing up against his calf, stunned and surprised that Kurt would actually reciprocate. His stomach flipped inside of him at the feeling - just the idea that Kurt was okay with his bold, flirting moves was enough to make him swell with happiness. “Great.” His eyes darkened just a little as he fixed his gaze firmly on Kurt, his voice dropping an octave as he spoke, “I can’t wait to cuddle with you again.” He leaned forward once more, reaching up to wipe off an errant drop of the pasta sauce from the corner of Kurt’s mouth with his thumb and bringing it back to his own lips, coaxing it between them and sucking gently on the tip. “Mm, delicious.” He hummed with a mischievous glint in his eyes, looking as though nothing was different. “I don’t feel like going to class either. Come on, let’s blow it off.”

Kurt smiled softly and tilted his head as he tried to picture Blaine- gray hair and smile lines around his eyes.  He figured he’d still be as handsome as ever.  He shrugged, “I don't really think you need an excuse to cling to me, and I would hope we could do a duet publicly before you and Rachel sing together.”  He laughed softly, “Believe me, I'd never hear the end of it if you sang a duet with Rachel first.”

A soft smile came to Kurt's lips as Blaine confessed that his dream was to make sure Kurt reached his own.  He wanted to tell Blaine that he deserved more than just a supporting role in Kurt's dream- much like he told his brother a year earlier.  He let it slide, though, and shrugged, “Honestly, I was toying with the a few ideas , but I think I'd just like my last name as the main line.”  He shrugged and moved his hand as he shrugged, “There's just something about someone saying they were wearing a 'Hummel Jacket' on the red carpet.”  He grinned, “although, I do like the name Hummel Brag,” Kurt said and put a finger to his lower lip and diverting his eyes as if he was thinking about it, “Maybe I can use that for the accessory Line.”  Kurt smiled at Blaine and nodded, “Incredibly lucky.”  They could have went to different coffee shops that day, they could ave met but decided to make their respective relationships work.  A number of things could have happened, but Kurt was glad things ended up happening the way they did.

Kurt's face felt hot as Blaine talked about liking him.  He thought Blaine almost said the word love and it made Kurt's heart skip a beat.  Could they be there already? Kurt was known to fall fast, after all. Even if he was trying his best to go slowly, it wasn't working with Blaine. “I feel like one of those cliché romantic comedies,” he said as he held up his fingers to make quotation marks, “How could it be wrong if it feels so right,” he said as he mimicked the women from rom-coms. He grinned at Blaine, “Does that mean you're going to worship me?” He asked, but then deadpanned, “Don't answer that.”  He smiled and took a drink of his diet coke.  “I genuinely like you, too,” Kurt said softly, “which is a lot more than I can say for most people,” he tried to joke.  He never really was a people person.

When Blaine leaned forward to wipe the side of his mouth, instinctively Kurt darted his tongue out and licked over the corner of his lip, his tongue catching Blaine's thumb in the process. He felt his heart race and he nodded, “Cuddle, huh?” Kurt whispered, “I think I'd like to do a little more than cuddle.” He knew he was goo under Blaine's gaze and under his hands. There was no way he wasn't going to let something happen tonight. “Okay,” he whispered. He wasn't one to skip class, but honestly if he would have sat in his lecture his mind wouldn't be there anyway. “We'll go back out to the grocery store later,” he said softly, almost seductiveness, “After this, lets go to your place.”

Kurt’s compliment only pulled forth another soft chuckle from Blaine, his face lighting up with delight even as his inner critic was cautioning him to remain humble. “You really think I’m the cutest?” He asked, not knowing how else to respond. He knew he was somewhat good looking, but it was always about how sweet or kind or talented he was and rarely about his looks since that was usually reserved for Cooper. “I’d say you’re biased, but I happen to think that you’re the most beautiful and stunning person in this world, so I suppose that makes us even.” He nodded, a quiet, satisfied hum escaping his lips. Kurt’s reaction to Blaine’s question had him raising an eyebrow in amusement, and a part of him wanted to press for answers just to keep that blush there, but he decided against it in the end, so instead he just sat back slightly and asked, “On the occasion that you do drink, do you usually opt for beer or wine?” 

Blaine’s eyes widened slightly as he looked across the table at Kurt, his heart fluttering at how spot-on Kurt was. Sure, he had been complimented for his outfits before, but there’s a difference between telling him that his pants looked nice and being able to tell which designer they came from. “Color me impressed. Are you certain you wouldn’t want to reconsider a career at Vogue.com?” He asked, awe evident in his voice. Then, he squeezed Kurt’s hand back and made sure his smile was in place when the subject was changed, regretting bringing up something so heavy when they were supposed to just relax and enjoy lunch together. It wasn’t his intention to put a damper on Kurt’s spirits; this wasn’t Kurt’s issue to deal with to begin with. It was just him, with his complex emotions and dramatic tendencies. “I like you just the way you are, though.” He let on honestly, giving Kurt a soft smile. “You’re second to none, and I’m proud and insanely lucky to be able to call you mine.” He said, positively beaming at Kurt while holding his gaze the entire time.

Blaine really didn’t like the idea of another guy walking around Kurt’s place without clothes on all the time, but he knew it wasn’t his place to say anything about it either. So he took in a breath and did his best to push it down so that it wouldn’t show on his face. The loft wasn’t his home, after all. “You can…keep me for yourself for as long as you want. You won’t hear any arguments from this corner.” He said, biting his lips and trying his hardest to fight back the heat that was slowly forming on his cheeks. “The only person I’ve told about you so far is my older brother and even then, I hesitated to give him your name at first. I understand that feeling of wanting to keep something precious safe and private and just- closer, I guess.” 

Blaine searched Kurt’s face for a while, looking for signs of discomfort if any. He didn’t want Kurt to think that he was pushing for certain things because he definitely wasn’t. He’d be lying if he said he hadn’t once fantasized about having sex with Kurt, but they had both agreed on taking things slow and keeping things above the waist for now, and Blaine was nothing if not a gentleman of his word. Still, that didn’t mean that he would pass up any and every opportunity to flirt with his boyfriend, and so he did exactly that, leaning forward with purpose and parting his lips a little before closing them around Kurt’s fork, taking a bite and moaning softly at the taste of it. “That is delicious.” He murmured, never dropping eye contact as he hooked his ankle over Kurt’s under the table and ran halfway up his calf, then back down again. “Will you be staying the night?”

“One thing about me, Blaine, is I don’t say things I don’t mean,”  Kurt shrugged, “So yes, you’re the cutest. Possibly the hottest, and I may be biased, but it doesn’t mean I’m not truthful.”  A blush came to his cheeks when Blaine said he was the most beautiful and stunning person in this word, “I think Bradley Cooper might have something to say about that.” He sighed and took a drink, then shook his head, “Neither? I’m more of a mixed drink guy. But definitely wine over beer if I had the choice.”

“If acting doesn’t work out...” Kurt trailed off and then smiled softly, “I have a ten year plan.”  He leaned forward and moved his hand around, “Basically, I’m going to become a Broadway star and then I’ll be able to be a guest editor in Vogue, and possibly come out with me own line.”  He knew that it was a far away dream, mostly, but Kurt was always a dreamer.  Kurt tilted his head and smiled softly at Blaine.  He rubbed his thumb along his boyfriend’s and sighed softly, “I’m the lucky one,” he whispered and looked into Blaine’s eyes. He’d been so happy to meet Blaine.  There had been something about him from the start, and even though Kurt was already with someone it was amazing how drawn he was to the man in front of him.  It was something he’d never felt before.

Kurt nodded, “Don’t get me wrong, a part of me wants to shout it from the rooftops, but then I feel like I’d have to answer so many questions and I don’t know if anyone would really understand what we have.”  He tilted his head, “It’s like I found this thing that’s so precious and even though I was with someone else, I couldn’t stay away.  I didn’t want to stay away...no matter what it meant.” He sat back, “I’m sorry I hurt Adam, but I didn’t want to stay away from you.  I don’t think I could have even if I tried.”

As he looked at Blaine, Kurt couldn’t help the fact that his heart started beating faster.  Heat pooled in his stomach as he watched Blaine lean forward and take a bite from his fork.  His jaw dropped just slightly and his eyes flickered from Blaine’s lips then into his eyes.   Blaine had no idea just how much he was turning him on.  He finally closed his lips and nodded, “Yeah.  Yeah, I’d like that,” he whispered.  He smiled just a little and moved the tip of his foot just a little, to let Blaine know silently that all of this was okay.  This flirting that was pushing Kurt towards the edge of wanting more.  Kurt knew, that He wouldn’t be able to hold out long with Blaine, but at the same time he didn’t want to.  He didn’t have as many reservations as he did with Adam.  With Blaine it was different.  He took in a breath and sat back his foot again, moving up Blaine’s calf, much like Blaine had done to him, “You’re making it really difficult for me to go back to class.”

Blaine laughed, ducking his head bashfully. “I’m not…cute.” He protested weakly, scrunching his nose and shaking his head at no one in particular even as his chest was filled up with a warm, fluttery-like feeling. He had always had trouble accepting compliments, and a part of it was because he didn’t think he had done anything spectacular to have earned any, but he was more terrified of being put on a pedestal, only to let the other person down in the end, especially if the other person turned out to be the love of his life. He didn’t want Kurt to be disappointed in him, ever. “What about you? What type of drunk are you?” 

Blaine hummed. “I suppose that’s true. You are so much better than just a 50 percent discount at the Gap.” He said with a playful smile on his face, faltering only a little when Kurt teased him about his obsession with superheroes. “I wouldn’t call it a kink, per se…” He chuckled, trailing off and looking away. There was a hint of hesitation or perhaps indecision in his eyes when he looked at Kurt again, saying, “There was a time where I didn’t like myself very much.” He gave a shrug, continuing, “I still feel that way sometimes, but it was worse back then, and I guess…the idea of having an alter ego, where your alternate self can be a symbol of good and justice is very comforting. Tempting, might be a better way to describe it. All I needed to do was to put on an outfit or costume and I can be whoever I wanted to be. Someone better; someone who’s inherently good.” He said quietly, mustering up a small smile. He didn’t even know why he was being so honest and truthful towards Kurt, but perhaps, ever since that day he transferred to Dalton and slipped on the blazer, he had always wanted someone to understand why he did what he did. “I’m sorry, that was a little heavy, but - yes, I do have an actual costume hidden in my closet, back in Ohio.” 

Blaine raised his eyebrows the moment he heard that Rachel’s boyfriend had been walking around the loft naked and apparently Kurt had been there to witness…whatever it was that he had witnessed. Just picturing that made his throat feel tight, like it was closing up. Was this jealousy? Perhaps. Though, he instantly felt better when Kurt leaned closer to whisper those words, not even feeling the least bit bad or sorry for Brody like he normally would. Kurt didn’t like what he saw, and that was all that mattered. Still, he wondered what would impress Kurt, then? He had no idea what Brody looked like, but he couldn’t imagine Rachel, who, was known for having extremely high standards, to date someone who wasn’t good looking with a nice body to boot. Could it be that Kurt preferred someone taller, someone like Adam? …Oh, God. Blaine gripped his glass of water tightly in his hand, but a polite smile still remained on his face as he listened, nodding his head when Kurt said he could meet his family. “Oh, yeah, yeah. I’d like that.” He murmured, hoping his voice wouldn’t betray him. Then, he squeezed Kurt’s hand once more and smiled, more genuinely this time. “I’d love to meet your family. Your friends, too, but only if you’re comfortable. I don’t mind us taking things slow and letting them unfold on their own, really.”

“If you can’t already tell by now, pleasing you and making you happy makes me happy. Perhaps that’s my kink all along. Although, calling it a kink seems like an insult, since it’s only natural that I should be making you as happy as possible.” An embarrassed flush covered Blaine’s cheeks after that, but thankfully, they were interrupted by their food arriving, allowing Blaine to divert Kurt’s attention towards the food instead. “This looks delicious.” He commented, reaching for his fork while still holding onto Kurt’s hand. “Here, have a try.” He gave Kurt a soft smile and brought one of the chicken pieces to Kurt’s lips, his gaze flickering there as well and trying hard not to blush. “And I’m definitely okay with us spending a nice, quiet night together. Just the two of us and no one else.”

“Oh please, Blaine.  We need to get you some new mirrors, because apparently, they’re warped if you think you aren’t the cutest,” Kurt smiled just a little, shook his head, and just looked at Blaine.  He’d never met someone like him.  He was like an old Hollywood movie star and Blaine had to know how attractive that was, right? It was Kurt’s turn to blush and he shook his head, “For the longest time I didn’t drink.  I had the worst first experience being drunk and so I’ve been taking it easy ever since.  Meaning, I don’t get drunk often.  Or at all actually.  I guess I never trusted the person I was with enough to get drunk.

A smirk came to his lips, “Most people are.  I mean, you can do much better than the gap and if your pants are any indication you tend to have a tendency to go more towards Brooks Brothers.”  He took a drink of his water and tilted his head as Blaine began to talk about superheroes.  He found himself giving his boyfriend a somber smile.  He noticed the faulter in Blaine’s smile and immediately wanted to make that go away. Kurt ran his thumb over Blaine’s as he talked and smiled a little sadly, “Well, I for one would be glad to see the craftsmanship of this superhero suit.”  After a pause, Kurt squeezed Blaine’s hand, “And for the record...I do understand.  Half of the reason I was drawn to being on Broadway was because I didn’t have to be myself.  I could put on a costume and be someone else for a night.  I would dream of being a paperboy or a sailor or a Mormon...” he trailed off and shrugged, “I mean, I got better throughout high school and learned to be comfortable with myself, but....it was hard. For a long time.”

Kurt glanced at Blaine and wondered what was wrong with him.  He seemed a little uncomfortable, but he also didn’t want to ask him what was wrong.  Maybe Blaine was regretting their relationship.  Kurt didn’t know.  He smiled softly when Blaine squeezed his hand and immediately all those feelings went away. “Of course I want you to meet my family, and my friends.”  He paused just a little, “but honestly, I kind of want you to myself for a while.  I’m sure they all already know about you by now because Rachel can’t keep a secret to save her life, but my group of friends can be...a little much every now and then.  I just want to keep you for me. At least for a little bit.  Does that make sense?”

His jaw dropped slightly, when Blaine said his kink was pleasing him.  His mind immediately went to the bedroom and his face flushed.  When the food came out he sat back and took in a breath, smiling at the waitress and taking a drink of his diet coke once she set it down.  He leaned in and took a bite, smiling, “Oh that is really good,” he smiled brightly at Blaine once he said he would like to spend the evening together, “Good. I won’t have to deal with Rachel tonight so that’s a plus, and I get to spend the evening with you.”  Kurt took a bite of his own food and hmmed, “Want a bite?” he said, already putting some of his pasta and shrimp on a fork for Blaine.

Kurt arched an eyebrow when Blaine said it was nothing worth mentioning.  He was sure there was more to the store and he was about to egg Blaine on before he started taking, “Ohh co-captain?” He bit his lower lip, “Is that all the two of you were?”  He couldn’t help but wonder if there was more there than just friendship with a fellow Warbler.  He smirked at the story, though, “Well, at least if we go to a club I’ll be there so you can just cling to me.”

Kurt smiled a little and shook his head, “I got over my crush fairly quickly,” he shrugged, “I think it was more the feeling he gave me.  He was the first guy who was ever really nice to me in high school.  When he’d walk down the hall in his letterman jacket it was like he was superman,” Kurt smiled fondly, “there to save the day.”  He shrugged, “but I came to realize that there was no way he would be interested in me and that I was looking for love in the wrong place.”  He blushed when Blaine said why wait, “I was just worried about him throwing his life away to hold Rachel’s purse while she went to auditions.  He just seemed so directionless…”  He looked at Blaine and shrugged a shoulder, “I mean, I get where you’re coming from.  Marriage equality is a big deal and I never really thought that there was a certain age I should get married.  I mean, I always knew I wanted to be married by at least thirty, but until recently I never really pictured that happening.”  The blush was back on his cheeks in full force and he cleared his throat, “Uh, yeah. He’ll call and tell me what’s going on.  They’re actually doing Little Shop of Horror for their musical this year, at my suggestion, so I think I’m going to go for moral support.” 

 A smirk came to Kurt’s lips, “Well you get me started on fashion, sometimes I can’t stop Mr. Anderson,” He grinned at him, “besides, I think it’s about time I see this infamous bowtie collection of yours.”  He glanced down at the menu again, “I think that’s what I had last time.  It’s pretty good.”  He smiled back at Blaine then and was about to make a joke about being adventurous, but smiled over at the waitress, “I’ll have the shimp linguini and a diet coke, and he will have a Penny Cobb salad.” He smiled over at Blaine, liking the fact that he could order for Blaine.

Kurt’s question had Blaine wondering the same, because while he had always thought of Sebastian as a friend, but Sebastian was always a difficult person to read. “I’d like to think that we’re friends, but I honestly have no idea if he feels the same. As ex-Warblers, we do still keep in touch with each other. He texts me from time to time, but I have a feeling he was just bored and wanted someone to pass the time with.” He remarked casually, shrugging a bit. “It’s embarrassing, but there was a point where I actually thought that he liked me since he came on to me pretty strongly when we first met, but over time I realized that he was just a naturally flirty person.” He laughed lightly, shaking his head before returning his attention back to Kurt. “I’ll take that as a go-ahead signal to cling to you if I ever get drunk again. Fair warning, though. I can be really clingy sometimes.” He smiled a bit teasingly at the end, hoping that Kurt wouldn’t take him too seriously, even though the last part was sort of true to some extent.

Blaine gave Kurt a small smile, then a nod, before saying, “I guess you and I both have had unrequited crushes back in high school.” He understood what Kurt meant when he said it was the feeling Finn gave him more than anything else. The students at his old school used to go out of their way to make his life miserable, so when Jeremiah spoke to him like he was a normal person, it was like finding a drop of water in the desert; it gave him hope. It was hard not to like Jeremiah when he was the only person who treated him kindly at that point in time. “I don’t have a letterman jacket, but if we’re talking about superheroes…I might have thought about starting a superheroes club back in high school. I even have my costume and alias all figured out.” He chuckled, ducking his head briefly to hide the slight flush in his cheeks. “But um - I’m guessing Finn and Rachel are no longer together? I remember you mentioning that she was seeing someone here. If that’s the case, then I suppose it’s unfortunate that things didn’t work out for them in the end.” He didn’t know Finn and Rachel that well, or at all, but he could still recall the way they looked at each other when they were performing on the stage, and it was disheartening to know that even a power couple like them couldn’t make it through. “Does that mean you can picture yourself getting married now?” Blaine asked on purpose, just to see the blush on Kurt’s face again. “The musical sounds like a lot of fun. Do you mind if I tag along? I think it’s about time I check in with the guys at Dalton and see how they’re doing, anyway.” 

There was a bubble of happiness inside Blaine’s chest when Kurt ordered for him. Growing up, he was constantly overshadowed by Cooper, making him feel like he needed to put in extra effort just to be noticed. Hence, something as simple as ordering for him actually made him feel included, which, might sound silly for some people, but Blaine had always wanted to matter to someone, and it was as if Kurt could tell, because Kurt had always made him feel like he was someone special and important. “I’ll have a dash of basil vinaigrette, please. On the side, thank you.” He replied politely, smiling at the waitress and watching her leave before turning back to face Kurt again, saying, “Well, you could always come over to my place tonight if you’re free. I’ll show you what’s inside my wardrobe and satisfy that curiosity of yours. After all, I always aim to please.”

Kurt nodded once as Blaine talked about Sebastian, cutting his eyes slightly when Blaine mentioned Sebastian liking him.  He would have to keep his eye on this Sebastian character. Even if he was just naturally flirty, Kurt didn’t want him flirting with his man. He shrugged a little, “I can take clinginess.  Well, in moderation,” he smirked. “Seriously, though, I bet you’re a cute drunk.  Not that you aren’t cute sober.”

He sighed and shook his head, “I guess we have. But, in the end I think things turned out pretty well.  If those crushes had been reciprocated, we might not be here now.”  He tilted his head and looked at Blaine, a smirk coming to his lips, “Oh, so you have a superhero kink, is that it?” he joked and sat back, smirking at his boyfriend, “I bet you have an actual costume hidden in your closet back home.”  He took a drink and sighed a little, sadly, “No, they aren’t.  She’s seeing Brody,” he rolled his eyes, “Not really a fan.  I mean, at first I was happy for her, but now he practically lives with us.  He even walked around naked once. When I was at home. And I gotta say,” he said and then leaned in slightly, whispering out of the corner of his mouth, “not really impressive.”  He sat back then and looked at Blaine when he asked the question about marriage, “Yeah, yeah I can.  Especially now that I’m in New York.”  He shrugged, “When we were in high school it seemed so far away.  I always wanted to get married, but now it doesn’t seem so impossible.”  When Blaine mentioned tagging along with him back home, Kurt nodded, “I’d love that, actually. It will be nice to have someone to spend some time with.  And maybe you can meet my family.  If you want.”

After Blaine ordered his dressing, Kurt smiled softly and nodded.  Excitement bubbled in his stomach as he thought about the prospect of being alone with Blaine that night.  Maybe they could go a little farther than they had been.  A part of Kurt wanted to just blow off the rest of his classes and go now, “Oh you aim to please?” He smiled just a little and bit his lip, “You’re making it really hard to want to go to class...” he trailed off and sat back, then reached out to take Blaine’s hand, “Maybe we can go to the grocery store and we can pick up some things for dinner?  We can have a nice quiet night alone.”

Blaine’s eyes widened slightly and his smile grew a little when Kurt referred to himself as his boyfriend. He didn’t think it would make him feel so warm and happy to hear that, but it did - more than he thought it would. Perhaps it was the speed at how fast their relationship had unfolded and progressed, and maybe a part of Blaine would always feel insecure about that, but little moments like these always managed to ease his worries by reassuring him that Kurt felt the same way as he did, too. “Oh, uh - it’s nothing worth mentioning, really.” He shook his head a little, biting his lip as he weighed the pros and cons in his head, wondering if it was worth adding another embarrassing moment of his to the current list that Kurt already had. Kurt would not give up until he got what he wanted though, Blaine was sure of that, which, left him with no choice but to come clean about it. “Well, I’ve been there a few times with a friend of mine, who was my co-captain at that time and… let’s just say that people should stay away from me when I’m in an inebriated state. I might or might not have embarrassed him by dancing like a crazy person and clung to strangers while telling them how tall they were.” He laughed quietly at that memory and chanced a look at Kurt, silently hoping that Kurt wouldn’t think too badly of him.

“Oh, right. Rachel.” Nodding his head, Blaine recalled that Kurt had told him about who his stepbrother was once, and how he was the one singing duets with Rachel during the competitions. “Finn…Hudson, I believe. The quarterback.” He said, trying his best to remember what he had read from the show choir blog before. “And you had a crush on him.” He straightened in his seat, seemingly amused and curious to know more about Finn. “Were you still crushing on him when he and Rachel started dating? And…well, maybe it’s just me, but I think it’s romantic…the way they were so sure and committed to spending their lives together. I mean, I used to think that we should all wait until a certain age to get married, but now that it’s finally legal to do so across all states…why wait, you know?” His smile slipped and he cleared his throat then as he realized what he had just said, looking a little flushed. “Anyway,” A change of subject was needed, “Have you thought about going back home to visit them? Does he still update you about the competitions since he’s helping out with the club?”

Blaine looked at Kurt with pure adoration when he began talking about colors and coats and bow ties. He didn’t think something like this would make him fall even harder for Kurt, but apparently it did. “I love it when you talk fashion.” He leaned forward slightly in his seat and murmured, his gaze flickering down to Kurt’s lips and back up. He would have kissed him by now if they weren’t sitting so far apart. “I think I’ll go with their penny cobb salad, since it’s one of their signatures. …A cocktail before class, hm? Someone’s feeling adventurous.” He raised an eyebrow in amusement, before turning to his side to look at the server that just came over to their table to take their orders.

Kurt arched an eyebrow when Blaine said it was nothing worth mentioning.  He was sure there was more to the store and he was about to egg Blaine on before he started taking, “Ohh co-captain?” He bit his lower lip, “Is that all the two of you were?”  He couldn’t help but wonder if there was more there than just friendship with a fellow Warbler.  He smirked at the story, though, “Well, at least if we go to a club I’ll be there so you can just cling to me.”

Kurt smiled a little and shook his head, “I got over my crush fairly quickly,” he shrugged, “I think it was more the feeling he gave me.  He was the first guy who was ever really nice to me in high school.  When he’d walk down the hall in his letterman jacket it was like he was superman,” Kurt smiled fondly, “there to save the day.”  He shrugged, “but I came to realize that there was no way he would be interested in me and that I was looking for love in the wrong place.”  He blushed when Blaine said why wait, “I was just worried about him throwing his life away to hold Rachel’s purse while she went to auditions.  He just seemed so directionless...”  He looked at Blaine and shrugged a shoulder, “I mean, I get where you’re coming from.  Marriage equality is a big deal and I never really thought that there was a certain age I should get married.  I mean, I always knew I wanted to be married by at least thirty, but until recently I never really pictured that happening.”  The blush was back on his cheeks in full force and he cleared his throat, “Uh, yeah. He’ll call and tell me what’s going on.  They’re actually doing Little Shop of Horror for their musical this year, at my suggestion, so I think I’m going to go for moral support.”

“I suppose that’s true.” Blaine let out a small laugh as he spoke, looking around the cafe and noticing for the first time just how busy the place was. “Personally, I’m still trying to adjust to the fast-paced life here, but I like that it’s so different and vibrant and just - fun, not to mention the number of queer spaces and communities that are available here. …There’s only ever Scandals back in Lima.” A smile broke out on his face then, and he chuckled as he ducked his head for a brief moment, like he was trying to deflect an embarrassing thought or memory that just came to his mind. 

Blaine froze a little when Kurt admitted that he had once thought about ending everything in high school. It felt like a fist was clenching his heart, swelling up strong and swift, but that feeling was soon replaced by an immense relief, because Kurt was still here, sitting in front of him. They had each other now, and Blaine would try his damnedest to be there for Kurt, wherever and whenever he needed someone. “You must miss him a lot. Has he ever been here to visit you? What about your step-mom and step-brother?” He asked, keeping his hand on Kurt’s and gently stroking the skin there. He didn’t have a stable relationship with his own family, especially with his father, but at least Kurt had a loving one. He would also be lying if he said he wasn’t the least bit interested in meeting them, but he also knew that it wasn’t the right time for introductions yet. 

“It’s a date, then. Does it count as cheating if I ask for your help to pick out a bow tie for the occasion?” He hummed, before glancing down at the menu again, saying, “I’m sure you must be starving by now, what with having a morning class and all. Have you decided what to order yet?”

Kurt could definitely understand trying to get used to the fast-paced life of New York.  Lima wasn’t very fast-paced at all.   This was the city that never sleeps and in Lima the Lima Bean closed at 10- 8 on Sundays. He sat back and tilted his head when he saw Blaine smile, “Oh no.  That look means there is a story behind the whole Scandals incident, and you do realize that as your boyfriend I have privileges and one of them is to know all of your embarrassing moments.”

He smiled, a little sadly, “I do miss him.  It had been the two of us for so long before my step mom and step brother came along.”  He shook his head and then smiled a little, “They haven’t visited yet.  Well, my step-brother did.  But that was to see Rachel.”  He sighed, “They were dating throughout high school and wanted to get married like right out of the gate.  I thought it was a bad idea...” He shrugged, “Finn ended up sending Rachel on a train to New York and joining the army- which he was discharged from after shooting himsef in the leg-it was a flesh wound- and came here, I don’t know, wanting things to go back to normal?”  Kurt shrugged, “He ended up going back to Lima.  I don’t know if I’ll see him back here anytime soon.”

A smirk came to Kurt’s lips and he shook his head, “You know that the key to my heart is a makeover,” he joked, “but yes, I’d be happy to help pick out a bowtie. I’m thinking Black with flecks of gold since that’s what the Hamilton logo is. Ohhh or I could do blue to match their coats during the revolutionary war...” he trailed off then shook his head and glanced down at the menu, “I had a coffee and a protein bar before class, so yes, I’m famished.”  He glanced at the men then and bit his lower lip, “I might get the jumbo shrimp linguine....” he trailed off, “It wouldn’t be the best decision to have a cocktail before going back to class would it?” He smirked and then glanced at Blaine, “What about you? Anything jumping out at you?”

Blaine’s breath caught in his throat when Kurt stepped closer and moved into his personal space, making him feel nervous and self-conscious all of a sudden. As always, Kurt had this effect on him that even he himself couldn’t very well explain. He was the one who started the flirting, but it seemed like Kurt was better at it; Kurt was literally beating him at his own game. “Oh, I- um…” He swallowed hard, stumbling over his words a little as his face burned at what Kurt was hinting at. He let out a breathy laugh after a while, saying, “You really do turn me into a blushing, speechless mess sometimes.” 

Blaine placed his elbow on the table, resting his chin on his hand as he looked at Kurt, returning his smile. “I can believe that, actually. I have a feeling you don’t particularly enjoy crowds.” He said, nodding along as he listened. “What sort of things do you tend to think about?” He asked, genuinely curious. From what he had been told and observed so far, he was aware that Kurt had trouble sleeping and would also get anxious sometimes, and he really wanted to help him with that. “Hamilton? I knew you were a man after my own heart. I dare say you’ve got yourself a date, Mr. Hummel.” He murmured happily as he reached across the table for Kurt’s hand, gently brushing his thumb along Kurt’s knuckles. “We could even stop by Serendipity after the show. I’ve heard that their frozen hot chocolate is to die for.”

Kurt smirked at Blaine slightly and shrugged a little, “I like making you blush,” he smiled and rocked back on his heels just a little.  He couldn’t help but stare into Blaine’s eyes.  Kurt knew, though, he shouldn’t be a tease.  They haven’t gone that far.  Some light making out here and there.  And it wasn’t as if Kurt hadn’t done things with Adam. It was different with Blaine, though.  It was special. Kurt wanted everything with Blaine to be special. “I picked a very busy city if I don’t like crowds, didn’t I?” Kurt smirked at Blaine and played with the corner of the menu, “I guess it’s not so much that I don’t like crowds.  Maybe I just don’t like rudeness and most of the crowds here are the rude touristy type.”  He shrugged, then and smiled a little, “Anything and everything.  Sometimes I just need to recharge, you know?”  He took a drink and set his glass down, “I think about my dad a lot.  Home.  How far I’ve come since I was a sophomore in high school who was thinking about ending things.”  It’s not something he tended to get upset about.  Kurt felt good that he’d gotten this far. He felt proud.  He slid his hand to Blaine’s and smiled softly at the feel of Blaine’s thumb brushing his hand, “I guess I’ll look up tickets.”  Kurt tilted his head, “I’ve always wanted to go to Serendipity.  I’d love to go with you.”

Blaine chuckled and shook his head, liking the banter that they had going on. He was good at charming people and had a way with words, but that didn’t stop him from saying the wrong thing and offending people sometimes. Kurt, however, seemed to be on the same wavelength as he was most of the time, and Blaine appreciated that. He loved how easy and jovial this all felt, and how willing Kurt was to flirt back. “Oh, trust me. I’m aware of that.” He murmured as he leaned in closer, lowering his voice to say, “It’s kinda hard not to, since you look so good in them. They really do leave nothing to the imagination.” 

As he listened, Blaine couldn’t help but wonder what it would have been like if he had come to New York with a friend as well. He was ecstatic to be here, no doubt, but navigating The Big Apple alone can be rather daunting sometimes. “Uh - no, not really. Mostly just the top attractions like Times Square, Central Park, and of course, the Empire State Building. I’ve always wanted to go to the top at least once after watching Sleepless in Seattle for the first time.” He let out a soft laugh and glanced down at the menu briefly, before looking back up at Kurt again. “I do want to visit some historical sites, though. I’m just not sure where to start.”

The smirk stayed on Kurt’s face as he teased Blaine, loving the way it made him feel and hoping Blaine felt the same way. He wanted to make Blaine feel good about himself.  He hadn’t known Blaine for long, but he did know sometimes Blaine didn’t feel so great about himself, and if there was any way for Kurt to make Blaine feel like he was the most important person in the world, he would do it. He smirked and looked into Blaine’s eyes, “hmm,” he smirked and moved a little closer, “believe me, the real deal is much better than tight pants.”  He honestly couldn’t believe he was talking like this.  He was never this bold before, but Blaine made him feel safe enough to do it.

Blaine didn’t even realize that people were looking at them as they walked down the hall and exited the campus together because, well, his entire focus was on Kurt. It felt good, seeing Kurt happy, and that was the only thing he cared about, really. He probably would have been a little bit more hesitant and cautious if they were in Ohio, but being in New York made him feel safer somehow, even without a strict non-bullying policy like Dalton’s. He didn’t know how comfortable Kurt would be given his past experience at McKinley, so when Kurt took the initiative and held his hand in his own, Blaine was all too happy to oblige and reciprocate, intertwining their fingers together. 

“That’s true, Sondheim did play a part in it, but I’m pretty sure it was you and your tight pants that day that sealed the deal for me.” Blaine gave a flirty shrug as he took a tiny step forward, reaching out to adjust the strap of Kurt’s messenger bag a little. “That sounds like a plan. We can definitely go there.” He nodded, squeezing Kurt’s hand warmly as a flush crept up his face. They had already done so much more than just cheek kisses, and yet, it still managed to make Blaine blush. 

They reached the cafe pretty quickly as it was just down the street, and even though this was just them having lunch together, but it felt a lot like he was exploring the city with Kurt, his boyfriend, which, was something he had always wanted to do ever since he came here. “Do you come here often?” Blaine asked curiously, walking over to their table after being guided by a wait staff and pulling out a chair for Kurt, before taking a seat himself. Then, he reached for the bottle on the table and began pouring a glass of water for Kurt before doing the same for himself.

A smirk came to Kurt’s face and he shrugged, “Well I have plenty of tight pants where they came from.”  He paused and glanced at Blaine playfully, “Does that mean you noticed my ass before you noticed me?” he joked and ran his thumb along Blaine’s as they held hands. As they made their way to the cafe, Kurt couldn’t help but smile. Walking around New York with Blaine put a pep in his step.  He wondered how much of New York Blaine had explored since he’d been in the city.  He wondered what places he could show Blaine- or which places Blaine liked best.  “I’ve only been here a few times,” Kurt smiled as he took a sip of his drink, “Rachel and I found it during my first week here and we’ve been back one other time.”  He looked through the menu and then glanced up at Blaine, “Have you done a lot of exploring in the city?”  He was dying to know which places Blaine liked to go.

Blaine took a small breath as Kurt stepped closer, feeling nervous all of a sudden. Perhaps it was because their romance and relationship had recently been made official and Kurt was finally his boyfriend now, or just the fact that they hadn’t really had the chance to interact with each other at school before, hence the newness of it all, but regardless, it made Blaine giddy with anticipation and excitement, like he was a teenager again, about to go on his first date. He pressed his lips together to keep himself from smiling too wide when Kurt hooked their arms together, blushing a little like he always did whenever Kurt smirked at him. It was almost unfair how a person could be so beautiful and hot at the same time. 

“Uh - yeah, that sounds great. I trust you and your impeccable taste in food. Coffee, too. I’d be more than happy to follow your lead.” Blaine gave a little nod and smiled at Kurt, following him down the hallway. He was someone who thrived on having schedules and routines; he didn’t like not knowing what to expect, but he found himself not minding too much about that in this instance. He was perfectly happy to just follow Kurt to wherever he wanted to go, and eat whatever Kurt wanted him to try. “Hey, it wasn’t all that bad. I happen to have a soft spot for that coffee shop, actually. They might not know how to brew a good cup of coffee, but meeting you there made it all worth it.”

Kurt smiled as they walked down the hall and towards the doors of NYADA.  He knew people were looking, but he honestly didn’t care at this point.  He was happy. Walking down the hall with someone that he liked was something he always wanted to do- ever since high school.  Adam wasn’t one for public displays of affection, and it wasn’t like Kurt was, either, but with Blaine, he just couldn’t help himself. “Hmm,” Kurt smirked, “I guess you’re right, though I think it was the Sondheim that got your attention,” he joked and then unwrapped his arm from Blaine’s and slid his hand down his arms and took Blaine’s hand in his, “So what are you in the mood for?” He smiled softly, “There’s this cute little cafe down the street that has brunch and lunch options.  It’s called Penelope’s and the food is actually pretty amazing, but of course it is New York, everything here is ten times better than anything Ohio can offer.”  He squeezed his hand once as they walked out onto the street and Kurt stopped and looked around for a moment, then turned to look at Blaine.  He smiled a little and leaned in to kiss his cheek once, “What do you say?”

Blaine knew his own grin was lighting up his entire face. He didn’t even know it was possible to miss another person so much. Perhaps he had their honeymoon phase to thank for - for this feeling of euphoria and carefree bliss. Kurt looked breathtakingly beautiful, much like he did the first time they met each other at the coffee shop, and Blaine still hadn’t had a clue as to how he had gotten so lucky. He came to New York to fulfill his Broadway dreams and was rewarded with something else instead. Something much better and grander and far more meaningful. Meeting Kurt had changed nothing yet everything at the same time, and for the first time in what seemed like a lifetime, things and pieces were finally falling into place for him and everything just felt right.

“Well, for starters, I was missing my boyfriend, so I thought - hey, why wait until the end of the day to see him when I can just turn up to school earlier and surprise him after his morning class? And since I’m already here, I think I might persuade him to have lunch with me next.” Blaine told Kurt, playful and teasing, all the while resisting the urge to just lean in and press a kiss to his lips. He didn’t know how comfortable Kurt would be with public displays of affection, and he wasn’t going to risk it. “So those are my reasons, but it’s mostly the first one, really. I just wanted to see you, and I would be honored if you would join me for lunch at the school’s cafeteria.”

Kurt hadn’t expected Blaine there, but now that he saw him, Kurt couldn’t help the smile that came to his lips.  Along with the smile, his cheeks became a brighter shade of pink.  He shook his head at Blaine, smirk still on his face.  Sure, he and Adam had lunch together several times, but it had always been a plan.  They always had to have some sort of plan or list about what they were going to be doing or discuss where they were going.  This- Blaine showing up to his class unannounced- was spontaneous, and Kurt loved it.

He bit his lip and glanced around at the students hustling to their next class.  Everyone had somewhere to be.  The students here could be blood thirsty if they tried.  They were all looking for the next big role and would do anything to get it.  While Kurt wanted that role, too, he also was just glad to be here.  To learn and to grow.  Most of all, he was happy this place helped him find Blaine. “Why don’t we,” Kurt said as he moved closer to Blaine, then hooked their arms together as he started walking down the hall, “go somewhere else for lunch.  There’s a few nice restaurants around the corner, and the food is much better than anything this place has.”  He smirked and bumped Blaine’s shoulder, “Have you not learned from the coffee shop experience?”

Blaine hummed happily to himself as he walked down the hallways of NYADA, completely ignoring those not-so-subtle looks and stares that were thrown his way ever since that night at Callbacks. He was on cloud nine (ten, if that was a thing), and no amount of whispers behind his back was going to put a damper on his mood. In fact, he thought it was only natural for the student body to gossip about it; NYADA is a drama school, after all. He just hoped that it wouldn’t affect Kurt too much, considering the fact that Kurt had been here longer than Blaine, and probably couldn’t pretend nor ignore most of them the way that Blaine could. 

Just thinking about Kurt, however, brought a smile to Blaine’s face as he turned the corner, stopping just in front of Kurt’s classroom. Blaine glanced at his watch then, his heart thumping with excitement. They didn’t make any plans to meet up for lunch today, so Kurt wouldn’t be expecting to see him, but Blaine honestly just wanted to see Kurt more by finding any excuse he could to spend more time with him. They had been taking things slow so far - the way they said they would, but the more Blaine told himself to give Kurt some space to navigate, the more he missed him, and thus weakening his resolve. He didn’t want to be seen as those needy, insecure type of boyfriend, even though he was, to some extent, but they were finally together now, and it just seemed so wasted to not be spending every minute of every day being in each other’s presence.

When Kurt finally made his way out, Blaine’s mouth curved into a teasing smile as he leaned against the door frame, catching Kurt’s eyes and watching realization dawn on his face. “Hey, you.” 

Kurt glanced at the time on his phone as his professor talked about the Golden Age of Broadway.  It wasn’t as if Kurt didn’t like the Golden Age. Gypsy was always a go to for him and West Side Story held a special place in his heart.  But he was more in tune to songs of today, lately.  He would much rather listen too songs like Waving Through A Window or delve into the meaning of Company. It didn’t help that they’d been on the Golden Age for the past five lectures. He glanced down at his notebook as he mindlessly took notes and let out a sigh. He’d noticed some of the glances in his classes from members of the Adam’s Apples and just students who frequented Callbacks.  Someone had even asked him what happened with him and the guy who sang him a song.  He went on to say “His name is Blaine and he’s my boyfriend.”  It made him giddy to let people know.  Of course there’d been rumors on the Broadway blogs- everyone was into the drama at a performing arts school.  As soon as Professor Aldridge dismissed class he stood and slung his messenger bag over his shoulder and walked out of the door.  He couldn’t help the grin that came to his lips when he saw Blaine, “Aren’t you a site for these sore eyes,” Kurt smiled softly and pocketed his phone, “What are you doing here? I thought your class didn’t start for another two hours.”

Blaine looked at Kurt dreamily when Kurt reminded him that he used to be Isabelle Wright’s assistant at Vogue.com - a feat that still made Blaine’s heart swell whenever he thought about it, especially now. “Mm, I agree. You do have a fabulous eye for fashion. I love your outfits. I love the way you look.” He looked straight into Kurt’s eyes as he murmured those words, feeling completely and utterly mesmerized by this gorgeous man in front of him. It felt surreal, still, that someone as amazing as Kurt would want anything to do with him. “Oh no, you have trouble sleeping?” His face fell upon that revelation, his free hand coming up to caress Kurt’s cheek, the pad of his thumb soothing over the high of his cheekbone. The idea that Kurt had been suffering from insomnia didn’t sit well with him at all, and he wanted nothing more than to set things right for him. “You can have whatever you want, Kurt. My Dalton hoodie, tie, and even the iconic blazer. They’re yours to take.” Blaine nodded, trying hard not to think about how good Kurt would look in them. Somehow, the mental image of Kurt wearing a Dalton uniform made him slightly emotional as he wondered about the maybe, perhaps, and almost. “Or, you could wear it to bed and we could cuddle while I sleep right next to you so that it smells like us both. What do you say?” His mouth canted into a teasing grin as he asked, blushing a little afterwards when he realized what he was practically asking for.  

Blaine sighed, softly and happily, letting out an appreciative hum in response to Kurt playing with his loose curls. He had never liked his curls. He hated it whenever his curls rebelled against the gel, making him look like some kind of terrifying being - like, Medusa. But this was nice. If felt so good and safe like this in Kurt’s hands, and his body relaxed almost immediately as he allowed himself to sink into the warmth and comfort that Kurt was providing. “Are you claiming ownership over my serenades?” He asked, feeling his heart beat a little faster as his face split into a wide smile. Then, Jeremiah was mentioned, causing Blaine to groan in embarrassment as he buried his face into Kurt’s chest. “Please don’t remind me of my young and foolish days.” He lifted his head and huffed, fluttering his eyelashes and pouting slightly at Kurt. “Oh…I mean, if she wants it, I don’t mind letting her have it. She’s your best friend, and you guys share classes and live together, so it’s probably more convenient.” He smiled and nodded, turning to face Kurt completely so that his boyfriend wouldn’t think that he was forcing himself or saying things just for the sake of keeping peace. While it was true that Blaine was driven and ambitious - as seen during his time with the Warblers, being their lead soloist and later on their captain, but this was different. This was Kurt’s club, and it really didn’t matter to Blaine whether he held a position or not; he just wanted to support Kurt and help him succeed. 

Blaine’s blush deepened at the pet name, his heart fluttering at how nice and intimate that felt, his smile only growing wider when Kurt played with his fingers. “I want you to be. Comfortable, that is.” He told Kurt, gazing at him softly. Then, what followed next was so beautiful and wondrous that it made Blaine feel like he was falling for Kurt all over again. He couldn’t help but let out a soft gasp when he felt the firm thump of Kurt’s heartbeat against the palm of his hand, his hazel eyes widening even further the moment Kurt began to sing. In all of Blaine’s life, he had never been serenaded before, or had someone confessed their feelings to him so openly and honestly and with such a meaningful song, no less. For all the things that he had been through and had to live with, this moment right here made it all worth it. He was that same hopeless romantic, still stubbornly hoping and searching for real love even as guilt and shame clawed at his insides every day in his life after Sadie Hawkins. But Kurt, ever so kind and amazing and beautiful, was giving him the very thing he had ever wanted, without asking for anything in return. He didn’t know what to say. He didn’t know what he could even say. “I-” He felt his eyes burn, and he let the tears roll down his cheeks without wiping them away. He didn’t want to be so emotional and dramatic all the time, and he hated that they were a part of him, but as he surged forward to wrap his arms tightly around Kurt, he knew for a fact that Kurt wouldn’t care nor judge him for any of that. “That was so beautiful, thank you.” Blaine whispered, squeezing his eyes shut as he tried to hold back more tears. “Thank you.” He repeated, pulling back slightly to look at Kurt. “I like you, Kurt. I like you so much. You’re all I’ve ever wanted.” He added sincerely, putting both of his hands on each side of Kurt’s face, bringing him closer and giving him a long, lingering kiss.

Kurt blushed just a little bit and he shrugged, “Well, fashion was almost my career and Vogue definitely wouldn’t be a bad job to fall back on, that’s for sure,” he smiled just a little.  Sometimes he missed the hustle and bustle of the office.  There was always the best gossip, and it didn’t hurt that Isabelle loved having him around.  She would take him back in a heartbeat, and Kurt knew it.  He shrugged a little, then closed his eyes at the feeling of Blaine caressing his cheek, “Not all the time, but when I was bullied a lot in high school and if I have something going on with school...sometimes I just can’t turn my mind off.”  It was a problem, Kurt knew.  His mind wouldn’t shut up half the time and he had to sometimes take medication or listen to a white noise machine. Kurt bit his lip and shook his head, “I’ll have to come over and raid your closet.”  He smirked at Blaine and shook his head, “I just think that’s an attempt to get us to spend the night together, honestly.” He kissed Blaine’s forehead, “but you honestly don’t need to attempt to.  I want to sleep next to you.  I actually think it might help my restlessness.”

After a soft chuckle, Kurt nodded, “I think, in fact, I am claiming ownership of your serenades.  I think you should only sing for me for now on,” he was joking, of course, but he couldn’t help but feel a little jealous with the thought of Blaine singing to someone else. “You’ll just have to forget about your foolish days and sing to me instead.”  He bit his lipa dn shook his head quickly, “No, no.  I’ve had about enough of Rachel.”  He smirked, “yes she’s my best friend and my roommate but she has a way of taking control of my ideas and we’re not going to have that.  I’d much rather have you next to me.”  He paused, “you just have to promise me to be truthful and not just agree with everything I say.”
