Hi, I'm Tea/Benny/Gray, and I run this Tumblr art page. I wanted to speak out on a topic that's important to me. Let me clarify before I begin: I love pairings with a legitimate age gap. I'm a young gay man (22 years old), who likes men and characters much older than me, and many people online or on other social media platforms claim this is terrible. It's not true. Young adults over 18 (perhaps 22-25) have the right to choose who they want to be with and who they want to love.
This is not considered as grooming or s*xual harassment, as the person has reached puberty, and no one has the right to infantilize or deprive such an adult of their autonomy or to say there's something wrong with them. Groomers who are drawn to immature children who haven't fully formed and can't consent to such relationships should be condemned.
This blurs the lines between what deserves societal condemnation and what doesn't🙁
Why is it bad to be in a healthy relationship and love each other, even if one partner is older and both are adults? In such couples, I'm often not attracted to the younger guy; I'm attracted to the older man, because that's my favorite type. And when I look at such pairings, I imagine myself in the place of the guy, loved by the older man, and that's how I feel happy and whole.
