2017… Back to the Beach.

An incredibly inspiring day of protesting and marching against the Orange Order. Thousands met in Battery Park in NYC following the ban on immigration from multiple countries made of mostly Muslim people. Beautiful resistance. Everyone is welcome in this country. Some images dating back to 2008.. and yeah, I’ve done the circle frame before.. many times. But through the years, style changes, technique changes, and returns to where you start. And in times like these Trump filled horror days, that gave me comfort. A full circle.

i will keep shooting these… maybe they will even breed a new series….?

The STYX SERIES continues..

Definitely the longest running project in Fox’s career, the Styx Series focuses on capturing a modern take on the Greek Myth of the River Styx, of tokens of payment left over the eyes of the dead in an offer to ferry them across the River Styx to the afterlife. It also pays homage to turn of the century Memento Mori death portraiture, asking for those alive to remember one day they will be gone…
