I picked up my wife’s asthma medicine yesterday. With our old insurance, the meds cost $180 a pop. Now, under our new plan (which is cheaper than our old plan, has a lower out of pocket cost and a much lower deductible), the meds only cost $30. That amounts to a savings of $900 a year (just for those meds). Thanks Obamacare.

The worst blizzard in recorded history of South Dakota just swept through the state. Tens of thousands of cattle are predicted dead and the much of the state is still without power. The Rapid City Journal reports, ”Tens of thousands of cattle lie dead across South Dakota on Monday following a blizzard that could become one of the most costly in the history of the state’s agriculture industry.”

it’s been 5 days, and still no national coverage, nothing from NY Times, or CNN, or MSNBC, or FOX News, or Washington Post, or Wall Street Journal, or Bloomberg, or even AP, or NPR nothing from the national media, just a small town paper. Has the shutdown swallowed the public’s attention?
