A. This is a blog for deltarune related drawings, featuring the protagonist Kris. So- No. Not unless Kris is involved somehow, and even then. Unlikely since I would rather stick to the Deltarune cast(though if it's a UT or DR oc it's more likely!) If you want me to draw your oc you're better off heading to my main @twodragonsinatrenchcoat

Oh I really really liked chapter five. There's very little I didn't like about it actually!!

Flowery is. Fucking hilarious to me. I love characters who have nothing wrong with them they're just annoying. Did I hate him at the beginning of the chapter? Yeah. But once I realized his whole schtick I was delighted. And he's grown on me since. I love all the YTPs and art everyone's making of him. Glue!
His boss fight was also really cool with the new orange soul mechanic, and the music!! Flower Man is a banger.
I actually really loved all of the flower's fights. The callbacks to Undertale's omega Flowey fight were so so delightful to me. And they've all got such fun designs. Seth and Aqua were made in a tank to appeal to me I think. Blue and Yellow were so fun, Orange and Green were delightful too (I love you Green)
And OF COURSE PINK. The Mad Mew Mew fight was a little difficult to get used to but damn did I get it. I'm excited to do it again.
I LOVE the petal feather mechanic, the platforming was satisfying as hell once I got used to it and I enjoyed going around getting the pink coins even if a couple were frustrating.
Probably the only thing I didn't like about the chapter was the pacing leading up to acquiring the petal feather. The "puzzle" in the big maze room leading to the temple wasn't super satisfying. I didn't like walking around for 45 minutes looking for a path. Otherwise I liked the puzzles and scenes throughout the chapter!
I was absolutely delighted by being like, half correct in some of my theories for chapter 5. (Mostly about the flowers, I figured that we would be interacting with them, but didn't think they would be pretending to be human! a pleasant surprise.) Also the "inferno of jealousy" being about Ralsei and Flowery, as well as the triangle of Kris, Susie, and Noelle was so so cool to me. Like Asgore's relationship with Toriel was somewhat addressed but I find myself relieved that it wasn't the main focus because the focus being on the gang's relationships was more interesting to me.
OH I DIDN'T EVEN TALK ABOUT THE FESTIVAL SEGMENT. I really liked it. It felt a bit short and I wish there had been some games to play or something but I also understand that it wasn't supposed to be the focus and is mostly supposed to serve as set up to the scene with Noelle and Susie, as well as to the chapter. I accept that.
I have thoughts on the weird route/side B and what it could mean for the main route as well but that's like a whole other post and I kinda want to keep them to myself for a little while :]
Overall I'm really happy with the game as it stands and the chapter left me so excited for chapter 6.
I just wanted to pop in to say that even though I'm not sure if I'll be back after chapter 5, I AM replaying 1-4 rn and I am very excited for the next chapter. :]
I hate to admit it with a little over 50 days left till day 365 and one year of Krises- But I think I have finally run out of motivation to keep drawing Kris every day. It probably doesn't come as a surprise if you've been paying attention the last week or so but, I figure I may as well say it out loud and get in my little retrospective now, rather than drag this out another month and a half with low effort krises.
I originally made this blog with the purpose to explore different styles and ways of doing things in my art and I'd say it's been... semi successful. I have certainly learned a few things, especially about ways I like to do things and different techniques I can use going forwards.
I've made some of my favorite art pieces this year thanks to this blog, I've also made some of my least favorite but overall I'm a lot happier with my art than I think I was when I started. For reference here's the first Kris on the blog- alongside how I'd execute it now. (Today is Kris 314 :])
I wouldn't say one or the other is necessarily "better" because art is subjective and all that- But I definitely like today's a lot more than number 1. I'm definitely a lot more comfortable in my art making shoes than I was. And part of that comfortability is why it's probably time for the blog to stop (or at least slow down significantly.)
I don't know if this is necessarily "the end" of krises on this blog permanently. Who knows, in a couple days or weeks I may get a good idea and decide to post it, chapter 5 might release tomorrow and fill me with a new determination, but for now I'd like to focus on myself and my ocs with less pressure to put things on this blog.
