December 5th, early evening.
Partially, the Van Leeuwen family had gathered around that fateful evening, awaiting the arrival of Sinterklaas and his Piet. Everyone who was still living at Timâs place were obviously there, including Ruben, and Maaike tagged along too as she knew that Piet was in fact a certain German man whom she had given her heart to.
Tim had made sure to have served everyone a hot cup of chocolate milk, and there were several traditional treats on the table; chocolate kruidnoten, taaitaai, marzipan figures and strooigoed. Whoever thought Tim wasnât a sweet tooth would be sorely mistaken. The Dutchman had encouraged his children to sing some Sinterklaas songs, to âlet Piet know where to knock on the windowâ. Little did they know, that Sinterklaas would look a little different this yearâŠ

The three of them waved at the children and Lutz waved with the rythm of the song with a big smile on his face. As soon as they were otu of sight and they couldnât hear them anymore, Lutz took of his hat and wig and scratched his head. âGod this wig is so itchy.â
Krischan had to chuckle. They walked to the car and Krischan got off his horse, taking off the beard. âWhat do you think of the beard? I had to resist the urge to keep scratching my face.â He petted his horse and turned to Kees. âThanks for helping again. That was very kind. It sure made them believe it was real.â
âHeh yeah:â Lutz chuckled. âTO be fair I almost believed it myself, you were extremly well in character.â He snorted. âAh this was a great evening!â
âI think so too.â Krischan smiled. They packed everything up and drove towards hom. Well âhomeâ being Keesâ place where they could take care of Krischanâs horse until he went back to his own farm.
However, the two Germans decided to pay the van leeuwen house another visit the next day, but now just as themselves, because Tim probably had some gifts for them too. Lutz knew Maaike definitely had one for him.
Kees had to giggle at the two brothers, it was endearing to see how they had bonded so much over playing these characters. He couldnât help but scratch his head as well when he took off the wig. âHeh, itâs really no problem. Although I wouldâve loved to see you in character too, Krischan.â He started to chuckle, he wondered what âSinterklaasâ wouldâve said about him.
The next day, it wasnât as tumultuous in the house as the previous day, but the children were still very much hyped about their gifts. Well, most of them at least. Rubenâs gift wouldnât last long of course, as itâs just some chocolate. Tim was surprised when he heard the doorbell, he had completely forgotten that the two brothers would come over and didnât even prepare any coffee! Quickly, he got up from his chair, placing Leentje back on the floor (she had been bothering him to sit on his lap to play with her new plushie) and walked over to the door to open it for Lutz and Krischan.
âAh, hello you two. What a nice surprise for you to visit us today.â
Lutz and Krischan got up pretty early the morning to arrive at Timâs house in time. They wanted to see the aftermath and had some presents they wanted to give the others as well. it were small things but still.Â
Lutz grinned when Tim opened the door. âWeâre just here for the gifts.â He snorted, but that earned him a hard nudge from Krischan. âIâm just kidding of course!â He said more to Krischan than Tim.Â
âItâs very nice youâre having us over Tim.â Krischan just said.

Before Krischan could step outside, he saw the toddler running towards him and hug his leg. It was endearing to see, so he knelt down and grabbed her tiny hand. âOf course I will come back next year. I come every year and Iâve never skipped one.â he smiled and petted her head before standing up again.
Lutz had already stepped outside and saw Kees standing there. âOh you ran out of pepernoten? Donât worry I got some more!â He quickly ran over and pushed a handful into Keesâ hand. âWe got enough now i think for the way home right?â
Now Krischan also walked outside and smiled at Kees. âPoor Ozosnel, of course Iâd come back.â He walked to his horse and petted it. âHe loves pepernoten you know that.â he chuckled.
With those tender, reassuring words, Leentje smiled brightly and felt overjoyed to have her head petted by the one and only Sinterklaas. Excitedly and with sparkling eyes, she ran back to her father and wanted to be picked up by him, which he of course did. And⊠was that a small kiss on her cheek even?
Kees smiled brightly but faked having to step back a few steps at the overly enthusiastic sharing of his âcolleagueâsâ pepernoten. âWoah, woah, careful!â He said, nearly dropping a few. âYou did leave some pepernoten for the children, right Purple Piet?â
âWha- Yeah of course I did! I asked very politely if i could have some- i mean if we could have some. Meneer van Leeuwen was nice enough to share some. Look!â he opend the bag to show Kees. âNow we donât have to starve during our trip back to Spain!â
Meanwhile Krischan had gotten on his horse. âAlright Pieten. Are we ready to depart?â he asked and quickly Lutz turned around, holding the bag over his shoulder.
âYes Sinterklaas!â he smiled happily.
âHurray!! No more starving!â Kees giggled, purposefully joking as if Sinterklaas would ever let them starve, to make the provinces laugh. âErr, I mean, itâs just as a snack of course. Yes sir! Err, Sinterklaas!â Kees half went for a salute, but stopped himself midway, and instead took the reins of the horse to lead him with Krischan âhomeâ. Little did the provinces know, that there was a car with a horse travel cart parked somewhere closeby.
The provinces all waved the trio goodbye, while singing the song âDag Sinterklaasje.â Once they were out of sight, Tim led the children back inside again. âRight⊠I think that it was a very nice Pakjesavond this year, donât you think? And Ruben, you were very lucky he didnât take you with him.â Tim said, now unable to keep a snort down. Ruben just rolled his eyes at his father. âI suddenly donât like this holiday as much anymore.â

âWell, yeah, of course we do. Although our stash has been reduced by quite a bit.â Lutz explained.
âYou would not believe the appetite of these guys.â Krischan said softly with a little chuckle. Lutz just gave a small pout.
âBut I meant for the way from here to the steam boat. itâs still quite a ride after all and Iâm the one that has to walk.â He paused. âN-not that thereâs anything miss with that. So uh⊠can I have some?â He held out his hands.
Tim cracked up hearing about the appetite. âWell, you do have acquired quite the legion of Pieten throughout the years, Sint.â He grinned, then walked over to the table, taking not only the pepernoten, but also a good portion of the filled speculaas with almond paste, some taaitaai pieces, and borstplaat pieces which he all dumped into Pietâs hands.
âHere you go Piet, working so hard for the old man does make one quite hungry, huh?â He winked at him, and patted his shoulder. âDonât forget to share some with your boss though.â
âI certainly have.â Krischan nodded with a chuckl.e âBut I can use all the help I can get, and Iâm very grateful for it.â He patted Lutz on the shoulder, who just looked at him in surprise. Somehow this felt much more than just acting. It was so sincere.
However his attention quickly shifted when Tim dropped all the goodies into his hands. âOh my, thatâs a lot of pepernoten! A-and speculaas and oh, taai taai!â He licked his lips and did :mmmh: sounds. âI can#t possible hold all of this!â Indeed he was struggling to hold everything in his arms and a few pepernoten dropped to the floor. âWait if i just eat some now-â He stuffed a few into his mouth and continued to speak with his mouth full. âThen I stuff the rest int he bag whcih is empty now.â And so he did. The bag was clean after all, they had just bought it a few days ago and only the presents had been in there. Piet Lutz put the bag over his shoulder and was still chewing pepernoten. âOh, yes of course Iâll share some with Sinterklaas.â he almost said âold manâ thankfully he could correct himself.
âAlright.â Krischan looked at him and then at the children. âitâs time to go.â he waved at them. âBye bye children, till next year.â
âByee!â Lutz also said after gulping down the pepernoten. They both waved and walked outside. Where⊠by all means they had managed to get a real horse - Krischanâs horse. Another Piet was waiting there and had been taking care of the horse. They wanted it to be convincing after all. Kees was luckily very kind to help out.Â
Krischan stepped on his horse and they all waved at the kids one more time while they stood in the door opening and in front of the windows.
Tim couldnât help but laugh more at the way Piet was misbehaving a little by talking with his mouth full, Lutz really was great at being a Piet. Something about the way he put the treats in the bag was very nostalgic, after all the Pieten on the streets would carry the candy in those bags too to hand out to the children in the city, so it was very fitting. The twins were mostly cracking up about him dropping some of the treats on the floor in all the haste he was making to try and eat some now, and pointed out where some of the pepernoten were rolling off to.
When it was time really time for Sinterklaas and Piet to go back home, Leentje started to bounce on her spot at first before she ran up to the saint to hug his legs. âSinterklaaaaaaas! U komt echt volgend jaar weer?â She asked the Goedheiligman, her eyes absolutely pleading him to calm her down.
Meanwhile, Kees was very much willing to participate with the whole get-up, he loved helping out whenever he could already, and especially his bestie Krischan. Besides, this was the favourite holiday of the year after all, and something about being a Piet was very entertaining. âSinterklaas! Ozosnel started to get scared you wouldnât come out anymore, I had to calm him down with some pepernoten, the last ones I could find in my pockets, I hope you donât mind?â
Before Krischan could step outside, he saw the toddler running towards him and hug his leg. It was endearing to see, so he knelt down and grabbed her tiny hand. "Of course I will come back next year. Jeschke watched the entire scene and had to try SO HARD not to start busrting out in laughter. He kept giggling behind his hand and snorting. Knowing it was Krischan just made everything a hundred times funnier, because this situation would never happen in real life obviously. But Tim had to play along for the childrenâs sake. It was the perfect plan! He was so happy he decided to plot with Krischan.
As Tim was reading the poem, Jeschke still couldnât stop giggling. Yes he was really proud of it. By now he knew how much Tim was into Sinterklaas and poems and this entire thing. He had to make him a ridiculous long one of course! Also because Lutz might have dared him to. Said Lutz was by the way listening with a big ass grin on his face. This was the best holiday ever!
âNo try.â Lutz said and waved his finger. âYou have to use it.â He chuckled. âAt least the apron.âHe added a little snort.
Tim opened his mouth to say something back to the Piet, but closed it again as he figured that it wasnât the best idea to talk back. âAlright, okay, I will use it. I promise I will. Heh, the apron is also very nice, I was in need of a second one, thank you.â Tim was definitely going to keep hold of that long poem as well, it was truly a work of art, and although it contained things heâd rather not read over again, there were a lot of loving comments as well. Jeschkeâs pen could really write beautifullyâŠ
Now that everyoneâs had their presents, Ruben decided to speak up again and crack a joke. âCan I make a Pietition that Piet canât hit as hard with the roe next time?â
Lutz raised a brow at that joke. Truth be told it was pretty funny. Then he grinned and grabbed the roe once more. âDoes that mean you want some more, Ruben?â He chuckled, but it was kind of a giggle.Â
Krischan shook his head. âNo Piet, once is quite enough. I hope he learned his lesson.â He glared at Ruben again, before standing up. âWell, I think I must be going now. Youâve got all your presents and I hope you will enjoy them very much.â He looked at Lutz. âCome on Piet.âÂ
âAww.â He pouted a little but stood up. âCan i at least have some pepernoten? F-for on the way.â
Ruben got slightly startled when he saw Piet grab the roe again, but luckily Sinterklaas told him off. Although that glare wasnât to be messed with either, and Ruben nodded. âOh yes, the lesson was delivered loud and clearly.â He added, while giving Piet a glare of his own.
Tim just snorted at that and placed a hand on Rubenâs shoulder, squeezing it enough to let Ruben know to shut up now. âOf course you can take some pepernoten with you, although I thought you would be having plenty on the steam boat?â The father asked with a grin.

Jeschke happily sat back down next to Tim and the look in his eyes was enough to tell the man that he was super grateful for everything he had written and for the gift. He couldnât help but give him a kiss on the cheek. He was going to keep that poem. But now he couldnât wait to see what Timâs reaction was going to be.
Krischan looked at Tim and tilted his head a little. âDo you really think just because you are a father now you can skip your turn?â he shook his head. âNo no, you will get something just like everybody else. Come here.â he stretched out his arm to urge Tim to stand up.
Lutz grinned and suddenly started chanting. âOp schoot! op schoot! Op schoot!â He urged the kids to join him with clapping.
Tim melted under the touch of that cheek kiss, and the look in Jeschkeâs eyes were more than enough to know that his mission succeeded. He sighed dreamily, until the Goedheiligman told him that yes, he did have to come up there to sit on his lap. âWait, for real??â The Dutchman asked surprised, and gave Lutz a look when he heard him chant like that. Much to his dismay, all the children started to chant and clap along with Lutz, under the sound of loud giggling.
A little embarrassed, Tim stood up and tried to calm the audience down a little with a hand gesture, but it only ended up making the children chant even louder. âAlright, alright, Iâm coming already.â He walked over to Krischan and stared at him for a good few moments, contemplating every one of his life choices, before finally sitting down on his lap as well. âRight⊠Letâs hear it, Sinterklaas. Have I been good this year?â
Lutz had to laugh when his chanting actually worked and all the children joined him. Even Jeschke, who ended up giving him a little push. Finally when Tim got up and went over to Tim he stopped the chanting and clapping, but was still grinning.Â
Krischan really had to do his best not to grin as well, he needed to stay in character after all. âWell Tim, I think we have quite a history already. I remember when I came to visit when you were still a teenager. That was quite something. Wasnât it Piet?â He looked over at Lutz who snorted. âThankfully much has changed since then. Still, you could work on that grudge of yours against a certain Spaniard.â Yes, Krischan had purposefully asked Ludwig about some details. âHm and your hypocrisy has become worse over the years.â A disappointed head shake. That really is not the best example you can give your children. But what Iâm most disappointed in is how hard it is for you to admit your own mistakes and apologize. Blaming others for your mistakes is a terrible thing to do and you don#t want to teach that to your children, do you?â Krischan paused a moment. âWellâŠâ He cleared his throat. âEven so, you are a very caring and loving partner and are trying your best to connect with your children, which I very much like to see. So you will get a present after all from Piet.âÂ
Lutz grabbed the last present out of the bag and handed it to Tim. Attached was also a poen - written by Jeschke no less - about almost the exact same things Sinterklaas had just said.
Hey hey, now wait a minute, hold up! Was he really getting scolded like that by Sinterklaas?! Tim couldnât believe his ears, which by now were starting to turn a little pink as did his cheeks when a few of his antics against Spain during his teenage years, he didnât exactlly need any of his younger kids to know about them after all. âNo Sinterklaas, yes SinterklaasâŠâ Tim muttered every now and then as Sinterklaas listed the things he disapproved of.
âOooh, Papâs in trouble.â Harm whisper-giggled to his brother Daan, who in turn started to giggle too. Tim didnât even manage to give them a glare, because at that moment, Sinterklaas was telling him how disappointed he was in him. Tim had to admit, it wasnât exactly something he was proud of either, and by now he was actually dreading getting smacked instead of getting a present. However, luckily the Sint was very forgiving and listed the things he was doing well too, and promised him a gift after all. He sighed in relief and got up from his lap. âThank you, Sinterklaas.â Tim spoke, and went over to Piet to receive his present with a smile.
My goodness, the poem attached to it was so long, it covered two entire pages! Tim started to read it aloud, it was chock full of anecdotes about his quirks, about loving things, and about the things Tim could improve on such as cooking. When he finally reached the end and unwrapped the gift, it turned out to be a best-selling cookbook together with a new apron. âAh⊠heh, I will try to make use of this.â He knew exactly why he had received it.

Still, you could work on that grudge of yours against a certain Spaniard.â Yes, Krischan had purposefully asked Ludwig about some details. âHm and your hypocrisy has become worse over the years.â A disappointed head shake. âHeavy?â Lutz quickly looked at her. âOh not at all. I- ehâŠâ he abruptly ended his sentence and gestured at the bag. âI-Iâll get your present.â He quickly grabbed the bag and rummaged through it until he found the gift for her. âHere you go.â He smiled happily and gave it to Maaike. He kept smiling and it looked like he wanted to ask her something.
Maaike did a little bounce purposefully on the spot as though she was overly excited for her present, she loved acting for her siblings. Truth be told, she was excited, but she wouldnât normally bounce like that. Then when Piet came back up with her present, she clapped her hands excitedly before taking it, but noticed a look on his face. âThank you Piet! Hmm, is there something you want to ask me?â She asked, not unwrapping her present just yet.
Lutz raised hiw eyebrows. âMe? U eh⊠pfff, naaah. I-I donât-â He looked over at Krischan who just gave him a nod. âWell if youâre already asking⊠I ehmâŠâ He fiddled around with his fingers at the brim of his shirt. âI was wondering if you could give me a little present back⊠i-if you want to⊠Heh.â he did a nervous chuckle. âMaybe a small kiss on the cheek?â he whispered, looking at her with puppy eyes.
Maaike almost burst out in giggles seeing Lutz act as Piet like such a puppy, it was hilariously cute! âAaw! Another? Well, Iâm not sure, I do have a boyfriend, and I donât know if Sinterklaas approves if his Pieten are asking such bold requests.â She glanced over at Krischan, her grin now quite wide as she was enjoying this way too much, silently asking for permission. She waited for a moment or two, before giving Piet a big smooch on the cheek, pressing it against her lips by puling him towards her with her hand on the opposite cheek. Perhaps not the best idea, now her hand was dirty with soot as well as her lips and the tip of her nose. The twins made loud âoooooh!â sounds as though theyâve watched a total scandal when they saw her kiss his cheek another time.
âIâm sure Lutz doesnât mind it, youâre a Piet after all so youâll be gone to Spain soon, and itâs just a cheek kiss, hihi. Youâre very cute, though.â She told him, a small wink accompanying her words. Then, she finally unwrapped her present, which was a pretty new watch, with a poem about needing to make good use of the present in the future. Tim snorted loudly when she opened it and read the poem aloud, he was very pleased with the creativity of himself and couldnât help but keep snickering for a bit even after Maaike went back to her seat when she thanked the Goedheiligman.
âOh, yes of course you do. I eh. Surely he-â Oh he didnât even get the chance to finish his sentence when Maaike gave him a big smooch on his cheek. his eyes widened but soon a satisfied smile appeared on his face. He exhaled a dreamy sigh and slowly sank back down into his cheer - totally satisfied. âThank you.â He mumbled happily. Krischan could just shake his head but forced himself to smile. he had to be in character after all.Â
After Maaike had unwrapped her present and thanked Sinterklaas for it he looked into his big book to see who was next. his look went to Jeschke and Tim on the couch across. âAhem, i think it is your turn now Jeschke.â He gestured at him.Â
âOh, me??â Jeschke was surprised but at the same time he really shouldnât be. Tim definitly had a present for him and told Krischan about it. Besides, Krischan would never miss out on a chance like this to do whatever he was going to do, or say. âOkay.â He smield, stood up and walked over to Krischan, sitting on his lap as if this was the most normal thing in the world. Lutz who had by now ârecoveredâ from his present had to snort. âHave I been a good boy Sinterklaas?â Jeschke asked with innocent eyes. Krischan wouldâve loved to just drop him on the floor but he couldnât do that now.
âI will tell you that.â He said and cleared his throat. âThis is your first time here and celebrating Sinterklaas, is it not?â Jeschke nodded. âIt must be quite special to you. I hear you have been taking very good care of the children and their father.â He nodded towards Tim. âAnd someone putting someone elseâs needs before their own is always a very good deed. So it doesnât surprise you then that you also get a gift.â He looked towards Lutz.Â
Piet Lutz looked through his bag, which was getting very empty by now. There were only two presents left. he grabbed the right one and handed it to Jeschke. âHere you go.â he smiled.
âOh wow thank you Sinterklaas.â Jeschke smiled, got up and walked back to his spot with his present. He read the poem out loud, which praised his writing skills and creativity, but also his kind warm heart. It almost made him emotional. After unwrapping it, he saw there was a beautiful ink pen inside with a small, old fashioned note book. âWow this is beautiful! Thank you very much!â
Tim was feeling incredibly excited when it was Jeschkeâs turn; after all he had made sure to get something he knew Jeschke really liked, and worked hard on the poem. He couldnât help but crack up at his boyfriend on Krischanâs lap like that, acting like a child at that. He was so silly and it was one of the many reasons why he loved that man so much. It didnât go unnoticed by Tim how touched Jeschke was by the poem, and it made the older man smile tenderly. He didnât write anything in it that was untrue after all.
Once Jeschkeâs turn was over, everyoneâs eyes were now directed at Tim himself, in hopeful anticipation. âWhat? You wouldnât think a father would still get something from Sinterklaas right? Iâm too old for that, surely.â He chuckled, then looked at Krischan, because he really had no clue what was going to happen now.
Jeschke happily sat back down next to Tim and the look in his eyes was enough to tell the man that he was super grateful for everything he had written and for the gift. âMy fe-?â Lutz asked but halfway through he already understood. âOh no! My feather!â He fake panicked and quickly brushed it so it was in shape again. Then he sat back down and was very nervous but yet excited for some reason. he knew who was next.
Krischan nodded at Ruben thanking him, or rather Sinterklaas and looked into his book. After Ruben sat back down he looked towards Maaike. âI think now itâs Maaikeâs turn.â He smiled softly. Krischan really did like the girl, she was good. Altho the stories he heard from Tim were rather hard to believe.
Leentje burst out in a loud laughter, she was in stitches! Tim also had to chuckle, it really was a good idea to ask these two to play Sint and Piet, they were so good at it! It was also quite endearing to see the two brothers bond like this, it was kind of an odd way, but hey if this worked for them, he was more than happy for the two of them. The holiday fo Sinterklaas was meant for family bonding time after all.
Maaike smiled brightly when she heard it was her turn now, she liked Krischan as well. Ever since the past she had some sort of mutual respect with him. As she stood up, she pretended to smooth down her clothes first, before walking up to Sinterklaas. âAm I also allowed to sit on your lap, Sinterklaas?â She asked with a sweet voice.
Jeschke loved these two getting along like this and making everyone smile! It was so endearing to see! He too was glad now Tim had asked them to come over. Lutz and Krischan were certainly enjoying it too. Lutz had to smile when Leentje was laughing at his behavior. That was the purpose after all.
Now it was Maaikeâs turn. Krischan smiled, then he noticed Lutz from the corner of his eye and saw he wasnât able to sit still again. They had planned a few things ahead but sometimes some improvisation could do the trick. âCertainly you are allowed my dear, but I think Piet over there would much rather have you on his lap.â He gestured at Lutz who was now staring at him with his jaw dropped. It wasnât even acting, he really was baffled. But it looked cute.
Quickly Lutz got back into character. âWh- wait - i- m-ne Sinterklaas?â he tried his best at playing shy Piet. âShouldnât she sit in your l-â He kept stuttering words until Krischan cut him off.
âItâs quite alright Piet. Iâll make an exception this time. That is, if you want to.â he looked at Maaike.
Maaike was just as surprised, but not quite as flustered, as Lutz when she heard the proposal from âSinterklaasâ. She couldnât help but start to giggle at the reaction he gave when he heard it, it was so cute! âAww! Hihi, I donât mind at all, Sinterklaas, itâs an honour.â She said, then turned to her siblings to âwhisperâ loud enough. âI think Piet has a little crush on me, hihi.â She promptly went over to Piet, gave him a little peck on the cheek (and managed to get some soot on her lips and the tip of her nose) and sat down on his lap. âAre you going to tell me if Iâve been naughty or nice too then, Piet?â She asked him with big, innocent eyes, but to the experts it was clear there was a cheeky sparkle in them.
Tim cracked up at the scene, he didnât think Krischan would put Lutz in such a spot, but both lovers certainly didnât seem to mind. He couldnât help but squeeze softly in Jeschkeâs arm while watching it, it was subconsciously nonetheless a sign to show he loved this man.
Lutz continued his act of shy Piet, because he noticed that it pleased the kids - they were giggling, especially Leentje. And he though it was funny. âOh, heh, I-â He stopped when Maaike smooched him on the cheek and he did his best to show a dorky smile. And exhale a dreamy sigh. But then he remembered what she actually asked. âRight err-â Keep it kids friendly Lutz! It took all his control. âEh heh I-I think- well⊠You know⊠Sinterklaas knows these things, I donât.â
âThat is true.â Krischan nodded. Then he opened his book and began to speak to Maaike. âWell my dear, youâve been very good the past year. You#ve always been the responsible one and you are taking good care of your boyfriend I heard.â Lutz couldnât help but to grin. Krischan continued to praise her a little more. âHowever, maybe you could try being on time a little more to not keep others waiting.â he smiled. âBut you certainly deserve a present from Piet.â
âYes!â Lutz said a little too excited. âI err⊠excuse me miss.â He urged her to get up to he could get her her present.
Maaike had almost forgotten that she canât be lovey-dovey with Lutz right now, the twins and Leentje would definitely think sheâd be cheating on him, so she also barely managed to keep herself in check. She kept a perfect posture while sitting on Pietâs lap, being the proper lady that she was, although she was totally acting it right now in order to seem like a good girl. Her smile was bright when she was being praised so much, although she chuckled awkwardly when Sinterklaas told her to be more punctual. âHeh, yes Sinterklaas. Iâll try my best.â
Once she was urged to get up, she quickly stood on her feet again. âOops, sorry Piet. I hope I wasnât too heavy for you?â
âHeavy?â Lutz quickly looked at her. âOh not at all. I- eh...â he abruptly ended his sentence and gestured at the bag. âI-Iâll get your present.â He quickly grabbed the bag and rummaged through it until he found the gift for her. âHere you go.â He smiled happily and gave it to Maaike. âItâs quite alright Piet.
It took all his control. âEh heh I-I think- well... You know... Sinterklaas knows these things, I donât.â
âThat is true.â Krischan nodded. Then he opened his book and began to speak to Maaike. âWell my dear, youâve been very good the past year. You#ve always been the responsible one and you are taking good care of your boyfriend I heard.â Lutz couldnât help but to grin. Krischan continued to praise her a little more. âHowever, maybe you could try being on time a little more to not keep others waiting.â he smiled. âBut you certainly deserve a present from Piet.â
âYes!â Lutz said a little too excited. âI err... excuse me miss.â He urged her to get up to he could get her her present.

Little did they know, that Sinterklaas would look a little different this yearâŠ

âMy fe-?â Lutz asked but halfway through he already understood.
Now it was Maaike's turn. Krischan smiled, then he noticed Lutz from the corner of his eye and saw he wasn't able to sit still again. They had planned a few things ahead but sometimes some improvisation could do the trick. "Certainly you are allowed my dear, but I think Piet over there would much rather have you on his lap." He gestured at Lutz who was now staring at him with his jaw dropped. It wasn't even acting, he really was baffled. But it looked cute.
Quickly Lutz got back into character. "Wh- wait - i- m-ne Sinterklaas?" he tried his best at playing shy Piet. "Shouldn't she sit in your l-" He kept stuttering words until Krischan cut him off.
"It's quite alright Piet. I'll make an exception this time. That is, if you want to." he looked at Maaike.

Krischan gave him another glare and urged him to stand up so he could get his punishment. âNow, now, you wouldnât talk back to Sinterklaas, would you? You shouldâve thought about it first before you misbehaved.â Krischan almost broke character for a second. But composed himself. âGo on, hup.â he gave him a little push towards Lutz.
Lutz was still grinning widely now. âI wouldnât talk back to Sinterklaas if I were you otherwise your punishment will get worse.â he was having such Schadenfreude right now.
There was something incredibly humiliating to going to receive a spanking in general, but moreso in front of an audience, worse even by Sinterklaas and Piet, and to make matters the absolute worst, they were played by Krischan and Lutz. But the Hollander didnât have time to think things through, for he was already being pushed towards Piet, cheeks reddening though he managed to give him a glare for enjoying this way too much. There was a certain feeling of mild fear actually inside his tummy, as Ruben remembered the few previous times he had received the roe.
Maaike couldnât help but start laughing at Ruben, it was way too funny now to her, and it took Tim to give her a good nudge in the side to get her to try to shut up as she wiped a tear from her eye. The twins however were staring at the scene in front of them, they hadnât ever witnessed anyone else other than them getting it and they were both intrigued and relieved that it wasnât them this time.
Krischan just smirked and tried his best to hide. He knew Lutz would enjoy this way too much. As he was watching he just realized that this might have been the first time the of them got along so well in a very long time. It actually kinda of warmed his heart and he hoped that it would last.Â
Lutz was just looking forward to give Ruben a proper spaniking for once and not get in trouble. So he didnât waste any time and actually, fully took RUben over his knee to give him a few good spanks with the roe. he made sure it didnât hurt to much; even if he didnât like Ruben there was no need to physically hurt the man. At least not a lot. After the punishment was served, he let the Hollander go again, still grinning. Ah that felt great!
Jeschke too had to try not to laugh too loudly but Maaikeâs laugh was just too contagious and he started to giggle. Only when Tim made his daughter shush he managed to stop as well.
âWha-..?!â Ruben blurted out in confused surprise when he was suddenly facing the floor while the rest of his body was draped over Pietâs knee. Oh shit, this was actually happening?! He heard the âswooshâ of the roe already and Pets! sounded the first spank. Ouch! He hissed at the sensation, it hurt but it wasnât too much for him to handle thankfully. However, at the last spank, Ruben couldnât help but yelp an âOw..!â and lift one of his legs a little. The Hollander was more than glad when the punishment was over and he was stood back on his feet. He had no idea how to act anymore after this humiliating ordeal, plus his backside felt sore which didnât make it any better. Eventually, he decided he might as well just rub his behind and add to the embarrassment, as he mumbled a little âSorry, SinterklaasâŠâ
Tim in the meantime had quite the hard time to maintain his pokerface, even if he normally was good at this. Rubenâs initial reaction was just hilarious, even if he did feel a bit bad for him.
Krischan eyed the man closely. He didnât think heâd hear him apologize, even if it was to Sinterklaas, but hey it was something! And that was when he got back into character. âHm.â He mumbled and stroked his beard looking at piet, who just sat there a little clueless. âYou know i think you have shown remorse and after all âŠyou do deserve a little something. Piet, can you see if there is anything in the bag for Ruben?â
âI- wh-âŠâ Lutz played baffled. âB-but I didnât- He just-âŠ.â But another look form the Saint got him shushed. âYes of course Sinterklaas! I#m sure there is something in there!â He almost did a little salute and then quite literally dived into the bag to search for something. Honestly, almost his entire torso was burried in it on the floor and he rummaged and mumbled. âWhere did i- ouch! agh! NoâŠ. Not this⊠A HA!â He suddenly exclaimed and struggled to get out of the bag - maybe not his best idea but it sure was entertaining. âHere you go!â Lutz said holding a small package for Ruben. His had got a little messed up and so did the feather but it all added to the comedic effect.
Honestly, Ruben was just as surprised as Piet that he was actually going to get anything at all. He blinked as he waited for Lutz to grab his present, which⊠he seemed to have trouble with. If heâs going to end up not finding anything, I swear-.. Ruben thought to himself, half already expecting it. Leentje in the meantime was really, really into it and cheered Piet on to find it, and once he did she burst out into loud giggles. âYour feather!â She exclaimed through her giggles and pointed at the feather on his hat.
Even Ruben had to chuckle a little, and took his present from Piet, which was rather shapeless. He opened it and found a bag of chocolate golden coins, with a small poem about his love for money but that he shouldnât let it lead his decisions in life. âHeh, thanks Sinterklaas.â Ruben said, and quickly went back to his place, although sitting back down on his chair was a little more uncomfortable than when he last sat on it, ouch.
âMy fe-?â Lutz asked but halfway through he already understood. âOh no! My feather!â He fake panicked and quickly brushed it so it was in shape again. Then he sat back down and was very nervous but yet excited for some reason. he knew who was next.Â
Krischan nodded at Ruben thanking him, or rather Sinterklaas and looked into his book. After Ruben sat back down he looked towards Maaike. âI think now itâs Maaikeâs turn.â He smiled softly.
