   He isn’t sure what he feels. 

Lucian’s lips are warm, but firm. Like kissing iron. Lucian is, as he is with all things, an undeniable presence, even now; he draws Fenris like a moth to flame, like a Warden to the Calling. Everything about him shrieks, ‘ I am here. ’ He can be seen even when one’s eyes are closed. Like a bulwark against the sun. Hawke is different. Honest. 

   Fenris is stiff for a few moments, eyes wide, before yielding to the kiss, letting the other man envelop him in his hold, in his heat, in his scarred blood. His shoulders sag and he rests his hands on Lucian’s chest, gingerly, as though handling a blade. 

  “ You consume my thoughts, ” he murmurs once their lips have reluctantly parted, his voice low. “ I want— ” He cuts himself off, gaze lowering to his hands where they are pressed against Lucian’s shirt. 

                    Lucian kisses as he performs all other actions -- with the entirety of him. He is a tall man and it is immediately apparent as he draws Fenris in, cradling his head as though he is the precious center of a storm, meant to be unharmed by any debris or chaos on the outside. A man of might in spirit if not in muscle, he often aims to appear as large and imposing as possible on a normal day -- but not here. Here, he does not aim to overpower Fenris. He does not aim to intimidate or own him, to claim control of the kiss. He is simply dominant. Guiding. Leading. With an aim to present a seat of safety.

               It is an unused muscle of his.

               “ Tell me, ” he replies with a soft roll, trailing his fingers through Fenris’ hair. His stained fingertips massage the scalp, cradling the back of his head. Their foreheads fall together as Lucian’s lips trail along his skin, crowding toward him. Few have seen him as such.

   “ Know me? ” Fenris frowns, taken aback; confused, as ever. It was … not what he had been expecting. He didn’t know what he’d been expecting. 

   Lucian makes him feel odd. As though he is being watched; a prickling cold at the back of his neck, eyes on him. Hyper-conscious of his actions, awkward, observed. Like his actions are being recorded and stored. Yet it feels different from the kitchen slaves who stared as he walked past, from the magisters who eyed him hungrily as he poured their wine. 

  Fenris wants to know him, too. To know his complicated thoughts. His base desires. Him. 

   “ I … feel the same, ” he murmurs, and leans up as if to press his lips to Lucian’s, but manages to stop himself, and pulls back. “ I’m sorry, ” he says as if he has done something wrong, eyes darting back to his feet. “ I have not been desired in … a long time. I … am not sure how to do this. ”

               As determined and ambitious as he is with everything, Lucian will not be who Fenris might expect. He is not. He will not share a thought with the weak ones who flood Tevinter, who cut their hands and call upon others for their bidding. Who drop coins upon a table for the purchase of a quivering body, to act as a leech upon their blood and labor. Lucian is not weak.

               And Fenris will be nothing but safe in his protection.

               He watches the elf step closer, as though dancing a dance without clear knowledge of its steps. With firm hands, Lucian seeks to calm Fenris’ uncertainty, clasping his face in a strong, gentle touch. Even a smile graces his face, a small thing that swirls in his eyes more than upon his lips, as thumbs brush along unmarked cheeks, encouraging the warrior to look at him.

your archetype is the master.

traits: determined, obsessive, powerful, charismatic, confident, rash, challenging

the master is most commonly used to symbolize the antagonist, or the upper hand. while they aren't inherently the bad guys, their determination and ability to plan ahead can be twisted into something akin to evil. while that is a strong possibility in literature, their charisma and confidence can be utilized to create a strong idea and even an idea for the good side. many masters were the catalysts of revolutions, sparking hope and motivation. masters are extremely rash in their decisions, no matter how meticulous their planning may be. they tend to follow their instincts, and it's a good thing that they're so quick on their feet, otherwise, many of the challenges they face might have become uglier than expected.
