Let her slip inside & rip me out like we never happened. Like I didn’t exist. Like I didn’t care for you. Like everything we had wasn’t worth that walk home.

Why didn’t you just go home?

We could have fixed what was broken & slowly grew our pieces into something magical. But now we might never know & it kills me that those three words broke us.

Why couldn’t you just go home?
