In October I drew @doritofalls ‘s Serial Killer David AU for Goretober and while looking for old art of mine to redraw, I settled on this! Seeing as I hadn’t drawn Camp Camp fanart in a long time, I felt it’d be a breath of fresh air (and it was, I had a lot of fun drawing it)!

I don’t have much to offer at the moment, but I would greatly appreciate if you commissioned me!  (In case you cannot see the images)

Hundreds of years ago, the Crystal gems and the first ever Halfling defeated the evil Diamonds! They transformed Homeworld from an oppressive place of hierarchy and cruelty, into a beautiful city where all gems can thrive no matter the cut. The Rose Quartz halfling is gone now, but his story sparked love for humans and human children throughout rebel gem culture!

Halflings are very special children! Once orphans under care of the Rebel Empire, they’re strong enough to surviveallow joining their human bodies with gem material, almost painlessly! They inherit the original gem’s powers, and also develop powers of their own!

Gardenkeepers are post-Diamond gems who take on nurturing roles! They raise and educate Halflings old enough to begin gem training. Aaand also keep the kids protected from whatever Diamond-loyal clods might be lurking around, just in case…

They also keep their morale up! after all, when researcher gems are testing (and ocassionally tweaking) the Halflings for optimum development, you don’t want one of the children to go on a tantrum and stop cooperating, right?

(Because if that happens it’s always David’s gem on the line, of course.)

Halflings have a great destiny! If a Halfling Project succeeds, the child gets to travel to Homeworld and serve the empire the rest of their lives! Of course, a dream every single human child would have. Not to mention the valuable contributions to gem science they made in the process. What a dream!
