A storm of fire & ice

Sorry I haven’t been here much. I haven’t been feeling well and now KH Re:Mind is coming out and aaaaa. And then school and stuff. But it’s mostly me being in pain and being sore. But I digress. I’ll try to be here more soon.

He could almost laugh, but he barely let it show on his face as he nodded. “Yes, that’d be the one.” though he hardly looked like a dog in Todoroki’s opinion - there were actual dog quirks out there, Bakugo’s was far from that. But he knew Shinsou didn’t mean it like that.

          That wasn’t very good for Hero work, but Todoroki knew better than to judge. Sometimes it was needed; there were some things that one just couldn’t prepare for. “Do you think... You’ll be all right?”

          That made sense; people had to learn how to wlak before they could run, and it would lead people to understanding things and avoid making mistakes. That was the justification Todoroki could think of anyway -- however, he thought his class was managing okay enough. “I see... Did you feel prepared?”

          As much as part of him still would have preferred to be far away from Endeavor, as a Hero, Todoroki acknowledged his current limitations. Maybe the work study would heed the results he needed. “When had you begun your work study?”

          He would mean nothing by it, but he already knew that he was not about to let his mind wander for a whole day: he was already having issues focusing on some things, and if he let himself wander too far, it would go where he didn’t want it to. He kept that response to himself however, since he did not want Midoriya to worry more about him. When he offered the game, Todoroki canted his head ever so slightly. He knew the game, but never had anyone to play with. “... Alright, we can give it a try.”

           Todoroki would probably end up doing something - his classmates would find a way. It really was just another day to him but he was going to work on it. Of course Amajiki was right; it was the obvious answer that he did not actually think about. He blinked, as if he was told something revolutionary. For a smart kid, there were times that Todoroki could be very thick. “... I suppose that’s true.”

          That was a question, and he had thought about it before. Before starting U.A. he would have rather burn his other eye before working under him. to let his father have any more control over his life. However, spite was something else. “A Pro that uses ice more than fire,” he answered. “I thought I had more time to find one that could work.”

          That was very valid; Amajiki seemed to be the type that would avoid such things and Todoroki understood that. He didn’t want to press too much as this wasn’t his place, nor was he really a ‘friend’ he could ask about. Still, it sounded like a nice time - like something his sister would do for him. Overall it seemed like a nice day -- he was also very sure that Togata would make an appearance too. Todoroki hummed slightly, and gave a small nod. “That sounds like a very nice way to spend your birthday, senpai.”

          “Something like that, yes,” whether he wanted to get brownie points was beyond him, but Endeavor had said as much. Shouto was the only person that Endeavor cared about, and he was beginning to question if his ulterior motives were actually subsiding some.

          Go out with his friends, that was the simplist solution. Curious, he asked: “What do you usually do on your birthday senpai?”

          He knew that he was probably making Amajiki feel awkward, and he felt a little bad for that, so he was quick to try and continue conversation. “It’s been going fine... It has been interesting to see Endeavor actually teaching someone other than me.”

          “Thank you... It’s not that I’m not a fan of celebrating it -- my family’s just never celebrated it much. I wouldn’t know what to do.”

          Never one to pass up his favourite food, the boy nodded. “I’d like that, if you wouldn’t mind.” he wasn’t sure on Momo’s food preferences, but he didn’t want to ask for something she wouldn’t enjoy herself.
