Hii heya

There's something interesting about the way narcissism manifests in Francis and Gilbert. On the surface, they can appear similar, but the roots of it are entirely different. Granted, I'm definitely not the most credible person to speak on Gilbert's character, but from my perspective... With Francis (IMO) his narcissism stems from the fact that being admired and adored has always come naturally to him. Yet despite the attention he receives, he has always seen himself as someone fundamentally separate from others. He shines beneath the spotlight, but can never truly stand among the crowd. In a way, he is like a beautiful painting hanging on a cold wall. Admired from afar, appreciated for what he is, yet never experiencing genuine belonging. From his elevated pedestal, he can see everyone else, but remains unable to reach them.
