summary: a few mini individual fics centered around different type of kisses
kiss one | boredom + paper ball + spider-man kiss
Heâd run out of things to do, which baffled Mac as this place was a goldmine of unfinished projects and ideas waiting to be completed. Yet, while Riley was busy spending the last two hours formatting another computer program, Mac had mastered enough energy for a game he called âpaper ballâ. An empty basket stood a few inches away from the coffee table, while Riley sat back against the couch too invested in her program to take notice.
The first dozen paper balls sprawled all across the floor, nine making it in the goal. So, Mac decided to up the difficult level. Hence, why he was now laying vertical on the couch, head slightly hanging over the edge. Scrunching another ball, he calculated the trajectory, making sure his arm and vision were steady. Throwing the paper, it bounced off the table landing poorly on the floor. The next ball, Mac made sure to scrunch tighter, he moved slightly to his right - closer to Riley - before attempting the shot. However, this one landed in a worse position than the first, completely nowhere near the basket. Taking a deep breath, he picked up his last remaining self made paper ball.
âYou got this. Just keep head steady, firm grip on paper and in one swift catapult move-â.
He watched as the ball flew into the air, anticipation growing as it made itâs way closer to the target. However, an arm stretched forward, blocking the ball from making the goal.
âRiles, come on, that was about to go inâ.
âAs opposed to the countless of other paper balls scattered all over our living roomâ. She replied, smiling, eyebrows raised at the chaotic paper mess.
Mac scanned the room, giving her a sheepish grin.
âIâll clean it up, promiseâ.
âYou really canât be that bored?â.
Mac swung his hands; once, then once more, before placing them on his stomach.
âWell since my girlfriend was too busy coding, I needed something to keep me busyâ.
Riley chuckled. Underneath it all, Mac really was one, big, soft child who craved attention, despite his best efforts to try and hide that fact. But Riley knew him like her favourite book. And she had to applaud him for lasting this long while she finished up her program.
âIf you can last another hour, I promise we can watch whatever movie you want for dinnerâ.
âAnother hour?. Riles, I donât think I can last that longâ.
She shuffled closer, peeling away the strands of hair falling into his eyes, before leaning down and giving him enough motivation to make it through.
âDid you just spider-man kiss me?â.
âThat I didâ. She smirked, returning back to her laptop and leaving a stunned Mac dangling from the couch.
kiss two | long day + cuddles + forehead kiss
This is what Mac enjoyed most about returning home. The house no longer cold and empty. And he was no longer alone and unhappy. And every night Riley curled up beside him, Mac counted his blessings. Knowing full well how lucky he was.
âSleeping on the jet isnât nearly as comfortable as thisâ. Riley muttered, welcoming the touch of Macâs fingers gracefully gliding up her arm.
âOr as privateâ. He added, earning a light tap against his thigh.
Staring up at the ceiling, heâd been meaning to ask her for days now. However, theyâd never been the right moment. And when one presented itself, past experiences would often jeopardize Macâs confidence. Because any future talk only ever gained one result.
âIâve been meaning to ask, and I completely understand if you donât wanna-â.
âDo you ever think about where weâd been in, I donât know, the next two or five years?â.
âYou mean Phoenix wise?â.
âI was thinking more us wiseâ.
âWeâll be right hereâ.
Riley smiled, turning to face Mac. But quickly noticed worry, mixed with severe nerves and slight disappointment etched across his handsome features.
âWhat I mean is. Weâll be right here, curled up in bed, talking about our day. Maybe weâll be married, but it doesnât matter to me if we arenât. Because I donât need a ring to say Iâm not going anywhereâ. She stroked his cheek. âIâm here, Mac. And I always will beâ.
The relief washed over him, along with happiness when he realized this is what it felt like to talk about the future with someone who wanted him in hers - no hesitation, no doubt.
âTwo, a boy and a girlâ.
âI know Iâm a genius, but not even I can control thatâ.
âFine, then two kids. Doesnât matter the genderâ. She said, resuming her previous cuddle position. âItâll be nice. Just the four of usâ.
âYeah, we gotta get a dog too. We can name him Bruceâ.
âAs in Bruce Willis?â.
âYeah, why not. Jack would love itâ.
Riley shook her hand, imagining Jackâs face when he came face to face with a dog named Bruce. And even worse, all the conversations heâd most likely have with the fluffy friend.
âLetâs keep working on the nameâ. She said, yawning mid-sentence.
âJust a bit, but keep talking. Where do you think weâll be in the next five years?â.
Mac continued to speak, listing off all things he envisioned - marriage, kids, finding a lake spot so they could fish, taking family vacations. He occasionally blushed when he realized how ahead of himself heâd gotten. And he hoped she didnât mind, or better yet, notice. And as he looked down, Riley had softly drifted off.
âSleep tight, Rilesâ.
He placed a tender kiss on her forehead, securing the blanket around the both of them before turning off the lights, and dreaming about what the next five years could be like with the women in his arms.
kiss three | riley + running late + cheek kiss
âIâm late, Mattyâs gonna kill meâ.
Mac groaned, barely getting his eyes open to witness Riley running from bedroom to bathroom trying to multitask putting clothes on and doing her hair.
âI was suppose to meet her at exactly 7 to go over new security protocols for the Phoenix. And now itâs 7:05, and Iâm screwedâ.
âI donât think Matty is going to care if youâre a few minutes lateâ.
Riley ventured back into the bedroom, giving Mac a sharp look.
âSorry, still waking up here. Yeah, youâre most likely screwedâ.
She drew in a breath, checking to see if she was all ready to go. Rushing out the room Riley grabbed her leather jacket, only making it halfway past the threshold before turning back.
âGood morning. Eat breakfast without me, thereâs a fresh load of laundry waiting to be put away, and I love you. See you soonâ. She said, planting a quick kiss on Macâs cheek.
âI love you too, drive safeâ. He called out, hearing the door shut seconds after he did.
Shaking his head, Mac couldnât help but half smile. Rarely was it ever a normal morning in the Macgyver household. But, he never wanted it any other way.
kiss four | date night + red + lipstick kiss
âWhenâs our dinner reservation?â. Mac asked, fixing up his white collar top.
âAt eight, but we need to get there at least 10 minutes beforeâ.
Riley adjusted her black slit knee-length dress, the one she brought specifically for tonight which was a milestone for a number of reasons. Between the way her feelings got revealed, Macâs break up with Desi, and then both trying to fight their feelings. Things hadnât been easy. A few rough patches learning to adjust, but they managed to find smooth common ground. And now, more than anything they wanted to enjoy celebrating their first six months together.
Wrapping his arms around her, Mac followed the slit down her legs. A shiver evoked Riley as she tried to focus on applying the last touch to her outfit - dark, red lipstick.
âHave I told you how beautiful you look?â.
âI donât believe you haveâ.
âHow forgetful of meâ. He whispered, kissing her exposed shoulder. âYou look absolutely beautiful, Rilesâ.
âWeâre going to be late and miss our reservation. So, keep it in your pants, Macgyverâ. She said, placing both hands on his chest and leaning up for a kiss.
Pulling away, Riley giggled.
âWhat?. Why are you laughing?â.
Slanting to the side, Mac glanced in the mirror, noticing Rileyâs lipstick had left a mark on the corner of his lips. Then another appeared, then another, and another.
âIâm glad this is all very amusing for youâ.
Riley continued to laugh, looking all to pleased with her handy work. For the second she was distracted, Mac reached for her waist, but only grazed the fabric of her dress as Riley dashed towards the room, Mac hot on her trail. He managed to catch her, spinning Riley around from the door and onto the bed, pressing his own kisses to her face.
âDamn, no lipstick stain. Guess Iâm just gonna have to-â.
Rileyâs eyes grew wide, catching the hidden meaning behind his mischievous smirk.
âNo, Mac. Donât you dareâ.
She wiggled under him, laughing until cheeks were sore as Mac found all her ticklish spots.
âOkay, okay. I surrenderâ. Riley said, in between breaths, glancing towards the alarm clock. âI guess we wonât be making our reservationâ.
âPJâs and takeout?â. Mac asked, helping her up.
kiss five | equation + 6:03 + jaw kiss
It wasnât the frustrating sighs or the light peeking under the door that awoke Riley, but rather, the cold sheets beside her. Heâd pulled another all nigher. She could tell, because while his side of the bed was all crumpled, Riley would place any number of bets that Mac barely slept. Jumping up at the first sign of daylight.
âMac, youâve been trying to solve that equation for the past 48 hoursâ.
âIâm missing something, Riles. I just canât seem to figure out whatâ.
Taking the marker from his hands, she blocked his vision of the white board.
âAnd you wonât be able to figure it out if youâre exhausted and hungryâ. She placed a few kisses along his jaw, hoping it would calm Mac down. âYouâre always telling me if thereâs a problem I canât solve, to take a step back and come back to it with fresh eyes. So, what do you wanna do first. Coffee or take a shower?â.
He sat on the kitchen stool, the taste of sweet, rich goodness soothing his body. And with it, he enjoyed the morning with Riley, forgetting all about the equation. Until the answer hit him while staring at the steam covered shower screen.
âRiley. Riley, I figured it outâ. Mac called, rushing to fasten his sweatpants while leaving droplets of water behind him. âAnd you were right. All I needed to do was clear my headâ.
âIâm glad I could help, Macâ.
He smiled, excitedly rubbing the white board clean and starting over.
kiss six | morning after +Â breakfast + neck kiss
Mac still couldnât believe it, not once he fully awoke, or once he found Riley in the kitchen wearing his red flannel shirt. He even blinked a few times to make sure the scene in front wasnât him still dreaming.
Riley looked up, a somewhat pink blush dancing across her cheeks.
âMorning, I was just about to make breakfast. You want some?â.
Mac slyly slid behind Riley, wrapping two arms around her waist. Wasting no time to greet her a different type of good morning. She leaned back, giving Mac more access to her neck. His lips felt like they did last night - soft and in full control. And as the bliss of that memorable event begun to repeat, both phones buzzed against the kitchen surface.
Mac sighed, âMatty and her not so impeccable timingâ.
âDonât let her hear you say that. Come on, we should get readyâ.
âBut we havenât had breakfastâ. Mac whined under his breath, following Riley into the bedroom. Where he found her standing by the shower door with a flirty smile.
âAre you serious?. Donât mess with me, Rilesâ.
She opened the door, letting the water run. Earning the widest grin from Mac.
âBest morning everâ. He whispered, guiding her into the shower.
kiss seven | GTO + road trip + hand kiss
âIs that all the luggage?â.
âWait, thereâs one moreâ. She called out, jogging to place the last bag in the back of the GTO. âOkay, now weâre all goodâ.
The road trip had been weeks in planning. They found the perfect lake spot to relax, go fishing, and be with each other away from the LA noise. And it couldnât of come at the perfect time, as both were hardly needed at Phoenix.
Throwing Mac the keys, the GTO roared to life.
âAlright, off we goâ.Â
She smiled, letting the breeze run through her hair.
Obeying the upcoming red light, Mac glanced over at Riley. Sheâd been awfully quiet for the past 20 minutes. He knew her mind had been wandering. It did every time they sat in the car.Â
âYeah, sorry. What were you saying?â.
He grabbed her hand, softly kissing the back of it.
âJackâs here too. It wouldnât be a road trip without himâ.
âIâm sure by now he wouldâve taken over the radioâ.
They both chuckled. Riley feeling a little more at ease, as she had all she needed.
She had a full weekend of no phones, no Phoenix. The GTO; a beautiful reminder of Jack.
