What do you do to improve your sleep? Go to bed early at 10:30 PM and rest for 8 hours or so.

What do you love now, that you hated when you were younger? I once thought that using a stove was scary because tampering with it can lead to fire and I hated cooking, but I learned cooking is not scary at all.

What’s a time you followed your gut and it turned out to be exactly right? The time I followed my guts is that I was thinking up something and I thought it didn’t go as I expected, but it turned out to be right.

What’s something you used to believe as a kid that seems ridiculous now? As a kid, I once believed that a hero is an agent of truth and love, but it’s absurd.

What’s a piece of media (book, movie, song) that changed how you see the world? Phantasy Star Online came out in 2000. It was the world’s first online console RPG ever made, which changed the way we play RPG games forever.

If you could change the ending of any book, which one would it be? If I changed the ending of one dark fantasy novel, the ending could be a happy one.

Which languages do you speak and how did that impact your life? Because I was born in an era where anime and manga became widespread in the United States, I learned to speak Japanese, so I can use Japanese phrases.

What’s the best advice you’d give to someone younger than you? The best advice to give to children is work together and study together.

Who are you most inspired by? The historical figures who inspired me to do my artwork are Leonardo Da Vinci, Vincent Van Gogh, and Hokusai.

What’s your top tip to be successful in life? The most important tip for success in life is to find a job fit for yourself.

What’s a common misconception people have about happiness? One misconception on happiness is that humans can gain happiness by bearing pain and suffering.
