Welcome to #ShigeGouWeek2026, a week dedicated to celebrating the relationship between our favourite rival researchers. Whether platonic, romantic, or otherwise, any and all works surrounding the dynamic between these two is welcome for this event, including but not limited to: fanfiction, fanart, gifs, video edits, playlists, headcanons, meta, etc.!
Each day is associated with a specific theme and is open to any interpretation you’d like. Playing fast and loose with them is completely fine. They’re there as guides, not rules!
When posting your work, make sure to use the tag #ShigeGouWeek2026 so that everyone can find and share your creations more easily!

The only restrictions regarding the type of content you create are:
No AI-generated content, please. If you choose to go that route, I can't stop you from posting, but your work won't be permitted in the collection or shared on my blog.
Gary and Goh must be the primary focus of your work. Having other relationships on the side or in the background is totally fine, but the main one should be the relationship between Gary and Goh.
Otherwise, the only rule is to have fun!!

Q: Is x kind of content allowed?
A: Create any kind of content you like (please note that AI-generated content does not count as creating, in the scope of this event). The only rule is that it must be primarily focussed on the relationship between Gary and Goh. Just make sure to tag your work appropriately so people who may not want to see certain types of content can avoid it.
Q: If I can’t post on a specific day, can I post it on a different day even if it doesn’t fit that day’s theme?
A: Of course! Posting late (i.e. after the event has ended) is also fine! Just please don’t post anything for the event before it has begun!
Q: How will my work be shared?
A: The mod (that’s me, kohakhearts) will reblog any and all appropriately tagged works to their blog, but there is not a dedicated blog for the event. However, any works posted to AO3 can be added to the collection I made for the event here. As a reminder, you can post more than just fanfiction on the Archive, so don’t be shy about using the collection to share your work! Any and all works posted to the collection will be unrevealed until May 28th (00:00UCT). After that point, the collection will be open and unmoderated. It will not close, ever. So feel free to post any late entries!
Q: Do I need to complete every day to participate?
A: Absolutely not!! Posting for just one day is more than fine.
Q: Do works need to be completed upon posting to be conisdered part of the event?
A: Nope! Post the first chapter of that fic you've been thinking about, those first few panels of a comic, whatever you like! If you finish creating the rest during the remainder of the week, that's great, but also not required. Even if you aren't sure you'll ever finish it, don't let that from stopping you!
Q: Can I post multiple creations for a single day?
A: Go for it! Whether you post one thing during the entire week or 28 different things, it well be well-loved! Do what makes your heart happy!

“Right now? Nothing. It’s dangerous to be out in this kind of weather anyway, and even more so at this time of day. But if you want to see for yourselves if it really is an Articuno, you’ll only find it in a blizzard, so…”
“I’ll make sure Lemon bundles up,” she promises him.
“Thanks.” He pauses, and then: “It’s nice to know she has someone with a good head on her shoulders travelling with her. I swear, she’s been running headfirst into trouble since the day she started walking… Gary’s been telling me all that time that I need to worry less, but I think the least worried I’ve ever been is when she started travelling with you.”
“Oh…well, I don’t really mind keeping her out of trouble, honestly. She keeps my instincts sharp, at least.”
“You balance each other out well, then.”
“Yeah. We do.”
“That’s what makes a good rivalry,” he goes on. “You push each other to improve, no matter what. So…if you both want to try to find this Articuno, I won’t try to stop you, even if it is going to be dangerous. Just be careful. I’m sure your Arcanine will be a big help to you in this kind of weather. One word of advice, though… If you see Articuno and it gets spooked, look out for its Sheer Cold. It’ll wipe your whole team before you know it if you’re not ready for it.”
“Right. Got it. Thanks for the tip.”
“Any time,” he says warmly. “Anything else you want to know?”
She considers it for a moment, and in the silence finds herself momentarily distracted by a sound from the other side of the bathroom door: Lemon is singing, though the lyrics are muffled by the closed the door. If she were in front of her, Lime might tell her off for assaulting her ears with her terrible pitch, but…admittedly, she’s not horrible. It’s kind of cute, actually. She must be doing her hair; Lime’s noticed she often hums or sings under her breath when she’s doing that.
goh has a hard time with lime initially because she's proof that his little girl is growing up but like, if she's gonna be a sopping wet gay loser for anyone he is definitely grateful it's someone who is grounded and pragmatic lol
