Superman/Spider-Man, what’s the diff? Clueless Friend: “I just didn’t like Batman v. Spider-Man.”

I show a friend who’s never seen it the “Dance Off” video with Idris Elba. In which I tell her at the beginning: “That’s Idris Elba.” Friend: (Midway through video when she hears “I challenge you to a dance off..” yet again): “Whose voice is that?” Me: “Idris Elba.” Friend: “Is that the guy who starred in Selma?“ Me: “That’s David Oyelowo. There’s more than one Black British actor!” Friend:  Admits she can’t tell them apart.

Me: *talks about X-Men: Apocalypse* Clueless Friend: “Who’s the villain?” Me: “Oscar Isaac” Clueless Friend: “?” Me: “You saw Star Wars: The Force Awakens, right? He’s the Rebel Pilot that Finn helps escape.” Clueless Friend: “?” Me: *Shows her picture of Oscar* Clueless Friend #2: “He looks like Matt LeBlanc.”

My friend was 100% sure that the guy who starred in Shaun of the Dead also stripped in The Full Monty. Even after I showed her photos of both actors. “It’s not the same guy?” she kept asking.

A friend (who is under 50) had no idea what I was talking about when I mentioned “streaming” and “Blu-rays.”

When Christopher Lee died, a friend commented, “Isn’t he the guy from The Sound of Music?” Not... quite.

Last night’s mad doctor double feature: EYES WITHOUT A FACE (1959) and MAD LOVE (1935)

Her: “You can be a horror geek? I thought that was just for sci-fi stuff.”

Friend: “You know that movie where Matt Dillon exorcises demons?” Me: ?? She meant Constantine, starring Keanu Reeves.

I was talking about David Thewlis to a friend. She asked me who he was in the Harry Potter films (which she said she’d seen). I said he was the guy who turns into the werewolf. She still drew a blank. So she asked, "Was he related to Ralph and the twins?" (She meant RON.) LOL.
