World Central Kitchen believes that food can be an agent of change. That belief has fueled efforts to feed and empower vulnerable communities in the developing world from Haiti to Zambia. That belief is currently working non-stop in Puerto Rico still in the midst of recovering from the devastation of Hurricane Maria. Arriving just after the storm, World Central Kitchen activated its network of chefs, kitchens, food trucks, and partners to ensure people and communities in need receive quality meals. 

To date, they’ve served 3.6 million meals from 25 kitchens with the help of more than 19,000 volunteers—an impossible task without the right organizational structure, focus, and dedication. While their presence may not be permanent, their impact will be. While cooking, they are educating communities about proper food safety and sanitation. They’ve established school kitchens to support feeding programs. And they’ve provided training and job opportunities to elevate the hospitality workforce, increase earnings, and enhance the quality of life of low-income communities.

Nothing But Nets is a project of the United Nations Foundation dedicated fighting malaria, a deadly, yet preventable disease.

Every two minutes, a child dies from malaria, a disease caused by a single mosquito bite. Malaria is preventable and treatable with a life-saving, insecticide-treated bed net and other malaria prevention tools and treatment. Half of the world’s population is at risk of contracting malaria, and refugees, pregnant women, and children are most vulnerable to this disease.

Bed nets are a simple, cost-effective solution to keep families safe from malaria-carrying mosquitoes. Combined with household spraying, malaria testing and treatment, and vaccines in development, we are making progress in the fight to end malaria for good.

Please join the Knights of TARDISia as we help raise funds for the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund.  The state of racial affairs in the United States is in turmoil, and the violence against people of color goes beyond unjust-- it is unconscionable.  We’re using the GISH Scavenger Hunt platform to raise both awareness and funds to participate in addressing this issue-- because #BlackLivesMatter-- today, tomorrow, every day, every hour.

53. Since we can no longer give each other big, warm, cuddly hugs, it's time we invent the official hug or hug routine of social distancing. Props, noises, physical impossibiliites... they are all welcome. Let's see two people warmly "embracing" each other with "the new COVID hug" (obviously from a distance of at least 6 feet).
