I barely noticed that it has been a month, today, since my Lola Ebeng passed away. The pain has not yet subsided. There are still times that I wish that she never left. Never a day would pass by that I would not have thoughts of her. I really, really miss her. But I know to where her journey is leading her is a place so much better than Earth.Â
Composed this on my mind a month ago when she passed away. Since none of her grandchildren spoke during the funeral nobody got a chance to hear this. So I'm posting it here.
" A woman of grace and compassion - that's how I would describe Lola Ebeng in one phrase. Having her as my lola is something I am really proud of. No questions asked. In the 22 years of life that I am living, all she gave me is love like what she has given to the people of Paombong.Â
I remember when we were kids, Jael, Jerome and I, Lola would ask us to kiss her in exchange of that she would give us money. Never a day would pass by that she wouldnt give us lots of kisses and tight hugs, especially me cos I'm her little girl. Even before I mastered how to walk, Lola Ebeng has brought be to many places already. That's why until now I'm so much of a lakwatchera. Growing up, I looked up to her because of such grace she has. I must admit that I'm her number 1 fan. The fan that celebrates the same birthday as hers. The fan that shares the same passion for the color of blood - red. She's one of the only few who I know can really pull off a red lipstick without looking like a kontrabida.Â
As you walk your way to our Creator, bring with you our love and prayers. I know to where your journey is leading is a better place. I place away from worldy sufferings but a place in the comfort of our Lord. I love you Lola Ebeng. Thank you for all the love you have given me. I know that you have served your purpose, that's why its time for you to go now. Forever in our hearts you will stay. I know we'll be together again in due time. Say Hi for me to Lolo Ace and Lolo Jake. "
No edits. Typed it straight from my brain.Â
