I loathe AI in all it's forms. This thing has no reason to excist as it will only cause more and more problems for an average person.
I do not use AI in any shape or form. Finding non generated references is like detective work now, but I've managed so far. Lately I've started buying books again just to have some non-AI references around but you have to be careful what you get as anything made after 2022 is in the AI dangerzone.
Some new books which intially looked interesting turned out to be AI made and now I have hard time trusting anything from that publisher (Suomelaisen kirjallisuude seura or SKS). If they allowed these 2 AI books how many more are prompted? How much detective work and verifying credentials I have to do before I can be sure the author/authors did't just copy text from Wikipedia and prompt the pictures?
Having to constantly be vigilant just because I don't want to support lies and stealing is exhausting.
What caused this rant? Well in last day or so some AI bro scraped all of Cara for "lolz and to help AI community". It never ends.
I'm tired boss.
Last light cast on stone ruins
This is the last painting of the stone walls and ruins series. I wanted to experiment with more subtle and muted colours and have the ruins be more at disarray. Of the four paintings this one is my personal favourite.

In 2008 I went on 3 three week vacation with my family. We drove around Europe (Germany - Austria - Italy). The longest stay we had was in Tuscany Italy. Back then I was not interested in landscape painting but I still tried to bring some of the athmosphere to this painting.

Stone wall with a ocean view
Exploration of stone walls, landscapes and vegetation continue. The mediterranean scenery was the inspiration for this one.

Sunset behind the wall.
I made a series of 4 paintings which show a view through a stone wall. Here is the first painting.

Portrait on royal blue ink.
I quite like how the painting turned out. Traditional portraits are intimidating but this non-waterproof ink is forgiving to work with.
Lessons were learned from the first one therefore paintings his hair was way easier.

Same spot, different month. The first painting is from April 2024 and the second one is from July 2024.
I walk my dog along the path that goes past this bench. I have an obsessive amount of photos of this exact spot. The changes in nature and weather intrigue me.

For 4 years I had a summer job on a local cemetary, which is propably why I now like to paint gravestones. I also just like cemeteries, there just is something to them. In Finland cemeteries are large open air areas and they resemble a garden or a woodlands more often than not even when they are taken care of.
Last spring I was walking aroud my town's oldest cemetery, which was founded in 1850s. Many of the graves there are like this, but the oldest ones tend to be more decorated with carvings and sculptures. Stone wall was inspired by the church wall. I did get a little carried away with the crocuses. Usually I don't make up a name to put on this graves, but sometimes I add a pseudotext of sorts which means absolotly nothing.

I've now posted the old patch of Moomin background art from 2024. Next I have some character postraits and illustrations made in gouache lined up. At some point there will be more landscapes and more background art. I have way too many interest to follow a singular theme and to stick to one technique.

Taiteilijanvapautta on sovellettu. Lisäksi referenssina toimi hyvin sumuinen kuvakaappaus, mutta syntys siitäki jotain.
The witch's cottage from Moomin. I quite like this one.
Jakso 36 Joulu on jo ovella. Taitaa siihen olla tasan puoli vuotta nyt, mutta oon sitoutunut julkaisemaan nämä sarjassa, ja tämä oli seuraavana. Tästä ei jousteta.
Tykkään nöistä lumikolon möröistä, koska mulla on aika samanlainen elämäntyyli.
Moomin background art from Christmas themed episode. I took liberties with the details.
Muumien taustataidetta jaksosta 78 Etelää kohti. Olen hyvin tietoinen siitä, että nyt on kesäkuu.
More Moomin background art. The darker areas were unreasonably difficult to scan without them turning completely black.
Siilit Muumien jaksosta 53 Vedenneito. Nää kaks näkyy tyyliin sekunnin ajan. Taisin jättää harmaan tyttösiilin valtavat irtoripset maalamatta, koska en tykänny niistä.
Hedgehogs from Moomin.
Muumien taustataidetta jaksosta 71 Tyrmääjäsieni. Näin tän jakson vasta aikuisena, eli joko Yle tai mummi, jonka luona Muumeja katottiin, on sen multa lapsena kätkenyt.
Moomin backgroung art. I like the red hues this one has.

Muumien taustataidetta jaksosta 75 Satumainen smaragdi
Tais olla Muumipeikon painajaisesta(?) kyseisessä jaksossa.
More Moomin background art.
Jakso 58 Taiteilijoita muumilaaksossa tutkielma
A study based on background art seen in a cartoon called Moomin (episode 58) which is wildly popular in Finland.
