Klair Seg-El, daughter of Nyssa-Vex and Seg-El, originally written as Aunt to Kara and Kal but now mainversed as Mother to Kara with Alura.

Always willing to play Klair as Kara’s aunt for people who don’t wish to have her as Kara’s mother.

the room had been filled with love and laughs. the young kryptonian loved spending time with her aunt and she knew the elder loved the time they spent together just as much as she did. the bond they shared was something quite unusual as not many kryptonian women spent time with others out with their immediate family but despite klair being bound to cru em the elder always made time for the youngest of house el. 

bare feet rhythmically slap against the cool stone floor of their home as she raced around the large boradium table that sat centre stage in the house el living area. the laughs and gleeful cooing were soon replaced by a high pitched and pain filled scream.

in her playful running around kara had tripped managed to trip over the blanket that dragged between her legs and come crashing into the large table that the family matriarch had warned her about. “ JEJU… ” was the only word that had been called in the scream as kara’s hands come to clutch her face, small hands already drenched in blood from the youngsters head. her small body shaking in fear and pain. 

✨✨✨   -     There hadn’t been much that Klair Seg-El enjoyed doing in life now that her fate had been sealed to another whom she didn’t particularly enjoy being around and found it rather difficult to express herself with. Cru on the outside had been a great addition to the house of El but on the inside between just the two he was in fact the worse kryptonian alive. It’s why she kept herself busy in the home she grew up in. It was easier to be around her ‘niece’ than any other particular family member. 

Klair sat just along the couch watching the younger giggle as she ran carelessly around the house. No matter how many times she’d say to be careful it was the laughter that filled the home that seemed to drown out the caution she was asked to take while having all the fun in the world. There’s a smile for a moment before suddenly it fell hearing the high pitch scream.

Blue hues glanced up to look up from her magazine to look at her eldest daughter. She knew why the question was coming at her and knew exactly who it was she was referring to ❝ No, I could never choose favorites. I have four children, choosing a favorite would be unmotherly of me besides we all know it’s Niky. ❞

      ☆           heartbeat raced , eyes filling with tears , a moment of breathlessness all actions that in that moment the young kryptonian had no control over. for many life cycles she lay both awake and in slumber wishing for many things but most of all just to see a single member of her family again. tell them just how much she loved them heart aching for even the most simple of interaction with someone, yet all she had was endless darkness and her own thoughts. thoughts of wonderment about if there was anything she could’ve done to save her home planet from it’s destruction or even a way to save her family? 

there were many emotions filling the blonde alien and slowly they were starting to pour over at even just the slightest glimpse of her aunt. the weight of her dead planet heavy on her shoulders yet even just for the slightest of moments when she found herself wrapped in the arms of her aunt it felt as though that weight was no longer something she had to bare alone. 

rai of sunshine      -      a soft sob escaped her. it was an endearment that kara had been so sure that she would never hear again from a woman that she had longed to spend time with even before her…their planets untimely demise.

arms wrapped around her elder, letting herself melt into the hug. fingers tightening not wanting to let her aunt go. she was familiar not someone new klair was someone that kara was closest to someone that made her completely comfortable. 

“ i missed you aiahv , i didn’t think i’d ever see you again. ”

✨✨✨   -     Her heart thumped so hard against her chest she swore she could fell it within the hold she had on Kara. It felt so unreal that in her arms, she was holding her baby girl after years of dreaming to hold her one last time. Wishing she had went back just so they could be together even if it meant their untimely death. With a heavy almost peaceful sigh, Klair turned just slightly pressing a kiss on the youngest cheek before pressing her forehead to the other’s. A soft exhale just barely leaves her lips. Needing to take another moment in silence to relish in the reality that she was suddenly facing. 

❝ I have missed you more than you could ever know my sweet. I never thought I’ve ever see you again, not at least until we where reunited in Raos light. ❞

As her words fell broken in a cry that she refused to let fall just yet. she couldn’t help but stand up taking Kara with her just so her feet came off the ground. At the moment there was no way she would let go of the younger. Not until she asked at the very least. You would have to pray her from her arms at this point even as she moved into the house. Finally putting her back down on the floor, hands moved from around the young blonde to cup her cheeks, wiping away the little tears that had fallen from her little face. Klair smiled softly, still a very saddened yet joyful smile as she tilted her head.

       ☆           the young kryptonian would be lying if she was to say that the sudden kickstart in her pods engines didn’t scare her. she had no idea how long she had been stuck in the phantom zones timeless void but as her pod crash landed on the new strange planet she wondered if this was the planet that her mother had originally intended for her to travel to. 

she didn’t wait too long before the tall male dressed in blue with her family sigil branded across his chest despite not being someone she had met before while on her own planet. he spoke some kryptonese, his pronunciation of a few words completely wrong having him speak gibberish of her native tongue. a small conversation between the two made her feel at ease.

kal, had told her that he knew of a place where she could stay and be safe that he had met someone who had also come from their home planet and who could help her adjust to life on this planet considering how much time they had spent on the planet already.

blue hues took in the building curious of who she would be put into the care of. their home was beautiful, large and from the outside very aesthetically like the modern homes that were of her home planet just not in large overseeing buildings high in planets red skyline. 

swaying her weight her natural tone drained as she caught an early glimpse of the woman swiftly approaching the door she could feel herself rooting to the spot where she stood like she had been a ghost. heart aching it wasn’t her, it couldn’t be…could it? as the door opened her gaze taking in the woman in full, it was her!! she could never forget the beauty of her aunt. Klair SegEl’s beauty was unmatched on Krypton and on this new planet she seemed as radiant as ever nor had she seemed to have changed in the slightest.

“ aiahv . . ”

✨✨✨   -     With only a few days since the recent discovery of an unexpected pregnancy, Klair had now a lot on her plate. Just few short hours ago had she been so prepared to tell Liam of their child but now she was unsure where to go and what to do. It was no longer just her life that was affected it would be Kara’s as well. 

Kara who now had to deal with more than just being on a different planet. There was a new language, culture and years to catch up on not to mention a secret that Klair wasn’t sure she could keep for much longer adding another person who she didn’t know into the mix wouldn’t help. Especially one they both had to keep their true selves a secret from, something Klair didn’t want for Kara. Not when it came to being in the comfort of a place she will be calling home.

To say Klair was nervous was an understatement, there was a mix of emotions filling her every being. Happiness, fear, hurt and nerves and that was just for having Kara back, not to mention having to race her alone and another child down the road.

There’s a breath that leaves her lips as she moves towards the door, throwing her cellphone some where on the couch to keep from distracting her in an important moment like reuniting with the one person who always had her heart over anyone else. Who for the longest time thought she had lost when everything else was.

Opening the door finally, bright blue eyes starred locking in only on the other. Kal didn’t matter. Just her. Kara. Who had only changed a little since the last she had saw her. It was unbelievable sight and feeling. It took everything in her to scoop her up in her arms and hold her tight never wanting to let her go. There’s just a breath that leaves her lips for the moment. As if everything ever weighing on her shoulder suddenly no longer laid there. She knew this moment was coming but to actually have it within hours still seemed so unreal.

❝ My Rai of sunshine. ❞

It was the only thing she could get out in the moment. Taking in all of the young Kryptonian for a few moments longer before finally giving into her feelings. Fingers let go of the knob she held so tightly onto that it clearly needed to be replaced but she didn’t care. All that matter was Kara. Shifting she pulled Kara into her arms wrapping them so tightly around her that it would be a miracle if she actually let go. 

                    “LOOKED LIKE? I probably still look like I could use some sleep.” Maya chuckled quietly as she wrapped her arm around the other blonde’s waist, smiling as she snuggled deeper down. It was moments like this, where it was just the two of them and no one else. There really wasn’t anything else she could possibly want, not right now at least. Sure, if she had her best friend as well as her girlfriend, then she could have it all. At the question thrown her way, Maya hummed as she looked up “Of course you can, you can tell me anything and EVERYTHING.”

✨✨✨   -     The best times had been whenever Klair spent her days at the home of the house Elder’s where the youngest little El would stay while those responsible for her where away for work. The only real reason Klair would ever come back home was for the little blonde who seemed to have the most fun whenever they where together. 

After a long day, Kara was put to bed and Klair managed to find some sleep in her old room. Slumber came easy when she didn’t need to share the bed with someone she feared. Seeming to sink into the comfort of her bed she hadn’t heard the movement or sniffles coming from the little El.

The shift in the bed had Klair moved just slightly allowing room for the younger to make her attempt to get on the bed for the second time. Feeling the press against her side had a single color eye open. A tired sigh leaving her lips as both eyes fluttered opened looking down at her little sunshine, sadly pressing up against her. Arms almost instantly wrapped around her pulling her into the tightest of hugs. 

             “MHMMM.”  the blonde mumbled as she leaned into her girlfriend’s side, closing her eyes slightly as she enjoyed her touch. After the long shift she’d gone through, she was grateful she had that day off to be able to unwind after the events. She shivered slightly as Klair ran her fingers up her arm before entwining their fingers together with a fond smile. The blonde opened her eyes before humming slightly “Surprisingly well. I honestly just crashed. I think I just needed the sleep YOU KNOW?”.

✨✨✨   -     ❝ Does it bother you? ❞ Klair finally asked breaking the silence that lingered between them for a few moments after ordering from the barista. Waiting on the side for their drinks, the elder crossed her arms over her chest as she leaned against the wall. Bright colored eyes scanning the people left in the small cafe. The two hadn’t really had a lot of time alone, little outings usually had Ny attached to them. While Nyah was to little to understand anything they spoke of there was never really anytime for just Kara and Klair to spend together. Though they had Layla who had been the babysitter over the last few years to watch over the girls ( now mostly Nyah as Kara got older ), Klair always felt bad for having to call the woman and not being there for her kids. 

                    NORMALLY at this time of the morning, the blonde would of found herself halfway through her morning run, but instead, she was waking up in her girlfriend’s bed. The reason for her late morning wake up was that the blonde had an overnight and a half shift, finishing later than expected and she was exhausted. Slightly bruised but exhausted. Rolling over in the bed, Maya fixed her hair before pushing herself up off the bed with a slight wince before making her way out onto the verdanh, smiling as she felt Klair taking her hand to pull her close on the bench beside her. “I guess I could sit with you, you’re awfully comfortable AFTER ALL.”

✨✨✨   -     ❝ I know. ❞

       Klair’s words where almost whispered as she sat at the outside patio of the family owned cafe just across from the small city park. She could see her youngest from where she sat. Playing in the sand with other children while discussing the small milestones Liam had missed since Nyah was born. It was a sore subject indeed but he wanted to know. Klair couldn’t help the pain she felt telling him what was missed. She knew the feeling well. Watching her eldest grow up from the side was hard but at least she got to be part of it though a very small part. She didn’t even give Liam the chance.
