Harvestfest Break - Night Out with Cousins

Sunday Night – Crawdad Quarter, Willow Creek

Crawdad Quarter was chaotic tonight, but in the best way. We took pictures, danced with the street performers, and bar hopped.

Tonight reminded Malaysia of the old days; like sleepovers at her Aunt Nelly’s house, staying up late, and laughing all night. She didn’t drink anything, even though she was tempted. Just having fun with her cousins was enough to keep her distracted.

Tonight was positive in a way she hadn’t expected. She realized pulling away from everyone wasn’t helping her heal. Being here, surrounded by family, was exactly what she needed.

Crawdad Parish Courthouse

Malaysia sat in the chair with her heart pounding. She had been through months of delays but, today was the day; the final hearing for custody of their child.

Malaysia's lawyer, Evelyn, leaned over and whispered, "Stay strong, Malaysia. We've got this."

Evelyn was confident, but Malaysia couldn't shake the feeling that Pharaoh's attorney would find a way to twist the truth.

When Judge Walker entered, the room fell silent.

Pharaoh leaned back in his chair in his tailored suit. He looked like Prince Charming, but Malaysia knew the darkness behind his smile.

Judge Walker: Mr. Nicholls, your repeated delays have caused undue stress. Care to explain? Pharaoh: Your Honor, I’ve done my best to balance my demanding career with my responsibilities as a father. Every decision I make is with my son’s future in mind.

Judge Walker’s raised brow spoke volumes, but she simply said, “Let’s begin.”

Last Week

San Sequoia

Their last week in San Sequoia was the best one. They visited the aquarium, where Benjamin was obsessed with the orcas, explored the zoo, and spent a day at the water park. With then leaving soon, Andrei wanted to make this week the most fun.

Summer Camp

Magnolia Creek Camp

Malaysia had no reason to be stressed out, Benjamin was having the time of his life. He made new friends, played games, fished, swam, learned about wildlife, did arts and crafts. Pretty much everything you'd expect at summer camp.

While Ben’s been off at camp, I’ve been working at my dad’s record label. He’s got me doing everything from recording demos and singing background vocals to designing album covers and handling all sorts of office tasks. It’s been a lot of fun spending so much time with him. We don’t usually get this kind of quality time together. Plus, the attorneys mentioned it’ll look good to show I’m earning my own income.

The Birthday Party

Del Sol Valley

Pharaohs backyard is crowed with friends, family, and children hollering. Decorations all over from balloons to party streamers, to confetti. Gifts piled up and the aroma of charcoals burning. Pharaoh spared no expense. There were clowns, performers, and more.
