Since then, sweet Rigby passed away in 2017 at 5yrs old.

We fostered-to-adopt Leo aka Big Boy. He was the sweetest weirdest and most special boy! We adopted him in late 2017, a few months after Rigby passed. Avalanche... adapted. I went about the introduction all wrong (and in hindsight maybe weren't an ideal match), but they eventually got along. Leo was always sweet to him, but Avalanche had such an attitude of superiority and jealousy over him, and ended up being a bully to Leo. It eventually just turned into a nonviolent game they played (for the most part, until the Casey Jones incident).

Leo passed away in Nov. 2019. It's been heartbreak after heartbreak. I am always ok with adopting immediately, as cold as that might sound. Just my coping mechanism and my stupid love for cats. John was very hurt and a bit traumatized. He wasn't ready for a new cat anytime soon. Fast-forward to pandemic quarantine time in March. Thought it would be an ideal time to have a new kitten in the house since I was working from home. We had agreed we would try a young kitten opposit sex to Avalanche, so we can eliminate the probability of Avi feeling threatened. John just wasn't ready and we agreed around June/July we would start looking.

Enter Jojo! It was worth every second of the wait - what a goob! She's got such personality and she is very puppy-like. Plays fetch, carries her toys around even if they are as large as her, follows me everwhere and is constantly chatting to whoever will listen.
