At Night Shes Screaming

“Thank you….did you take them of my face?” Blushing super heavily now. “Yes, I do. Thats my routine for the next one, actually. I’m hoping to take first and maybe get scholarship to this college for dance, also I’ll get nationally ranked too.” 

Penelope looked at the boy, slowly walking towards the stage her camera in her hands. “If you want you can look. I can delete any of the ones you don’t like.” She smiled, “but you can’t really see your face much in them.” She had gotten a few of his feet and a few at a distance, and if you didn’t know who it was in the picture you wouldn’t really be able to recognise the face. 

“Well I mean if you go to the football games you have the crowed, the cheerleaders, the players, the band sometimes. So that’s a good amount of photos right there.” You can basically skip everything else, Celine joked, as she let out a little laugh. 

Penelope nodded in agreement, that’s usually what she tried to do, if she could make it to most of the bigger events she could usually manage to get some of her photos into the school paper. “Yeah, moat the time that works out. I don’t know though, this year work has been killing me already and school has only just begun.”

Celine listened and she did agree, most people are the school where nice and friendly, but there was always the odd few. “Well, your right about that.” The girl smiled,  “Hiding is never bad, at least I don’t think so.” Celine shrugged. “They’re not horrible at all.”

Penelope smiled, blushing slightly at the other girls compliment. “I don’t get to go to as many events as I’d like. Since the start of school I have been slacking on taking pictures.” She shrugged, the blonde had missed the first football game of the season, not a great first impression for this year. 

“I just had to ask, sometimes that might not be such a good thing. Some people at the school can be a little unfriendly.” Celine shrugged. “It’s very nice to meet you, now I just kind of feel bad that I never really met you before,” Celine told her told. “I have however seen our school paper so I know that your photos are good.”

“That I can agree with, but you get used to things. Doesn’t mean everyone is an ass just because a few people decided to show off.” Penelope shrugged, she wasn’t really bothered by ass holes, she tended to like everyone. “It’s nice to meet you too, and honestly don’t feel bad. I am usually hiding behind my camera.” The blonde felt her cheeks get hot as they started to blush, a smile spreading on her face. “Thank you, I really enjoy taking pictures so its nice to hear they aren’t horrible.”

theo didn’t except her saying anything like that and he looked at her. “thank you, i try.” he smiled. the jock was a humble person, confident but humble and he wasn’t a bad person he just didn’t think before doing things which got him into trouble also making him one of the teaches less favorite students but that was all on him. “i’ll be careful next time. won’t promise, i don’t like breaking promises but i’ll try keeping it at the back of my head to think first.”

“That’s actually not a bad trait to have,” she nodded her head. Most guys she knew didn’t care if they broke their promises or not. Some guys must have been good out there, the only guy she could trust to keep his promises were her boyfriend Travis. “I think your friends might never come back, they took off pretty fast”

Celine couldn’t help but laugh at the girl’s words, she didn’t mean for it to come out it just did. “I’m so sorry. I know laughing seems so rude right now, but I don’t know if me being from the school is a good thing or a bad thing.” She asked. “I’m Celine, nice to meet you or meet you again. I’m so sorry.”

Penelope stared at the girl as she laughed, “It’s not a bad thing.” She nodded letting a smile spread on her face. “Penelope, it is nice to meet you. I am a photographer for the school paper so we haven’t actually met, I have just seen you in pictures of the cheerleaders.”

Cameron forgot she was there as he moved arcoss the floor. He was showing his newest routine, one he was hoping would get him on the national ranking and possibly a full ride to a college he had been dreaming of since he was young. Once he was done, he looked to her, blushing once more. “Was it good?”

Penelope clapped as the boy ended his dance routine, “Flawless. I got some really great picture too thank you.” She smiled letting the camera fall around her neck, “that was amazing. Do you participate in competitions?”

theo stood there watching her as she spoke frankly he didn’t bother with if she believed him or not since he was serious about his apology and he would try think next time but his thinking came after his actions. it was just how was as a person. tired doing no harm but sometimes shit happened. “we’ll see next time then won’t we?” now he wasn’t sure if she was being just kind with her words or if there was a hint of threat in it.

Penelope eyed the boy, he was now the only one left of the group that once stood there. He couldn’t be all that bad if he stuck around after he had hit that teacher. She sighed slightly and tucked a piece of her hair behind her ear, “you do have a good kick. Went pretty far.”

Cameron looked down, not sure how to react. He saw the camera in her hands. He didn’t know how to respond but this was more his element than anything else. So he nodded, letting her take photos if she wanted. His music started once more, Cameron let himself get lost once more and didn’t think of the girl who might be taking his photo. 

Penelope smiled, thankful that he was allowing her to take his picture. She was sure she would get some good photos for the school paper. She brought the camera to her eye and stepped towards the stage snapping pictures. When she reached the stage she tried to focus her lens and waited for the boy to pass in front of the camera hoping to get a photo of his feet. 

Celine knew she should be home with her dad, he wasn’t home all that often due to his job and when he was home yes things where weird but Celine also loved having him home. As she heard the girl she snapped from her own dumb thoughts and turned to look at her, with a little smile on her face. “Yes of course. I would love the company.” She told her. “I’m just going to be working on some homework.”

Penelope was slightly surprised, normally people would offer to give up their table. Not that she minded having company either, she loved to talk and she loved to be with friends. Although she couldn’t quit put a name to this girls face yet, she could tell she was familiar. “Now I know you go to BH, but I can’t remember your name. I do remember seeing you around though.” Penelope was one of the photographers for the school news paper, so it was often she knew people that didn’t exactly know who she was. 

the boys stood there and no one said anything as the others slowly backed away which was their first reaction and then sneakily walk another direction. theo rolled his eyes at their behavior and smiled to himself, letting out a soft breath. “i apologize and i should and could’ve thought of others of course.” the jock did have a soft apology in his words but the dares were like those stupid the floor is lava challenges. you need to do it or you get a consequence. “i’ll think next time.”

Penelope couldn’t help but roll her eyes at the boy, she didn’t believe what he was saying. She accepted his apology, realising it was genuine. But she couldn’t help but think he would do something like this again, without thinking. The blonde let a small smile creep onto her face, “no one got hurt this time, so your lucky. You might not get so lucky if you don’t think the next time.” 

Travbis had just got his girlfriend’s be there in five minutes text. The male had just gotten out of the shower as he quickly made his way to hos room and began to put on his black jeans,t-shirt,sweatshirt and his vans high tops. He heard a knock on his door as he ran down the stairs to the front door,smiling as he opens the door seeing Penelope at the door”Why hello,gorgeous. Please come in?” He said as he held the door open for her,closing it behind him”Can I get you anything? Soda? Water?Beer? A burger?” travis asked with a laughs as he looks at her.

Stepping into the house she turned on her heels to face Travis. “You have burgers and beer?” Her eyes lit up slightly, she stepped forward and wrapped her arms around his neck, having to step on her tipy toes to lock her fingers together. “You know me so well,” she had often taken the beers from the fridge at her own place, and to her surprise her room mate never minded. Penelope placed a kiss on her boyfriends lips before she rested her feet and pulled her hands from around his neck.

He was alone, alone in the room and alone on the stage. Cameron was up on his toes, letting the music take him over as he just danced. He had a routine he should be practicing for nationals, but right now, he just wanted to dance and forget his world for a moment. On the stage, he was home, he was so shy around others but not here, not on stage, on stage he was whom he was truly. So lost, he didn’t hear someone come into the auditorium, not noticing them as he went into a fast spin. Stopping suddenly, he saw a face in the room and breathed heavy as their eyes locked. 

Penelope was sitting in the corner, looking through the pictures on the school camera she carried around. She had been hearing music, but had thought nothing of it, she had a deadline for the school paper and had been missing so much because of her work. She sighed deciding none of the photos were good enough to submit, instead she put it back around her neck and entered the auditorium to see what the music was about. “Oh you don’t need to stop for me,” she smiled when the boy looked at her from the stage. “would you mind?” She asked holding up the camera hoping he understood what she was asking.

Celine had gotten used to having her house quiet. Her dad was gone because of work and her mom was over at her ‘boyfriends’ house. But today her dad was home, which means Celine had to be fake when she got home. So she chose not to go home. After school, the girl got in her car and went to the local coffee shop, her books open on the table as she looked out the window with blank stare.

Penelope only had about an hour before her shift started at the bakery, she knew she had no time to go home and relax, so instead she decided to grab a coffee and relax at the coffee shop. It happened to only be a block away from where she needed to be so she thought it was the perfect place to unwind after a long day at school. She ordered her coffee, black, as well as a croissant before she headed for a seat. She pulled out her laptop and the school camera. As she opened up her laptop she realised it needed to be charged, looking around she decided the plug closets to her would be fine. “Would you mind if I join you here, I just need the outlet to charge this.” She said pointing over at her laptop.

perhaps kicking a soccer ball through the school hallway wasn’t the smartest idea but if theo was given a dare, he would execute. the jock stood there with his mates watching the ball fly through the hair, bouncing against a locker door before slamming straight into arms of a teacher who’s papers and everything went flying everywhere. the boys didn’t move. one second. “COKRAN!” the teachers voice echoed through the hallway. “i genuinely didn’t mean that to happen..” he said loud enough and they started backing up.

Penelope walked down the hall, her head down looking at her feet as she did. She only realised she was walking into danger when the soccer ball smacked against the locker causing her to look up from the ground. The blonde watch as it continued to fly through the air right past her, her head shot around to follow just in time to see it hit the teach full force. Her head turned back to the other end of the hall, eyes wide, her heart racing slightly. “Maybe you should think of the other people in the hallway before you go and do something ridiculously stupid like that.”
