Some terms fromt he Mr Eaten Twitter explained
So as you might have noticed the Mr Eaten account has been actingâŚ. a little bit weird these past few days. Instead of the daily scheduled bot mix-match of words, the updates happen at certain points during the day and with new words and sentences. At first I thought it was just a new feed of word/information to the bot, but none of the words have been repeated.Â
#iconique
Since I couldnât understand some of the words, and Iâm at home with post-EGX flu here is some research work into the terms Mr Eaten has been posting/referencing (will be updating this post with more as they are posted):Â
(just posting text with links to the tweet and not screenshots to help the post loading on mobile)
âSkyme.â
This one is hard to find. All I could find (aside from apps) is that itâs both a name and a word from Yorkshire dialect meanign to âglance sideways scornfullyâ [x]
âEnsabled.â
@kizzerific has suggested:Â â âSableâ is a term in heraldry for the color black, so I think âEnsabledâ might mean âto make something black."â
âAlbescent.â
âwhite or tending toward whiteâ [x]
âScolecite.â
This mineral:Â
Crystal websites describe its properties as âhelping with sleepâ and âunlocks the messages inherent within dreamsâ
âVolpone.â
âVolpone (Italian for "sly foxâ) is a comedy play by English playwright Ben Jonson first produced in 1605â06, drawing on elements of city comedy and beast fable.â [x]
âAurichalc.â
(latin) Aurichalcus means âbrassâ or âgold-coloredâ [x] "aurichalciteâ is also yet another mineral, associated with calming fear
âEuclio.â
The main character in the play Aulularia by Titus Maccius Plautus. Quite similar in tone to Volpone, about a greedy old man that tries to protect his pot of gold. The playâs ending has been lost. [x]
âSubrubescence.â
The specific epithet subrubescens, "tinted reddishâ, is derived from the Latin words sub (âless thanâ) and rubescens (âgrowing redâ) [x]Â
âNumen; o, numen.â
âNumen, pl. numina, is a Latin term for âdivinityâ, or a âdivine presenceâ, âdivine will."â [x] Possible coincidence, but the tweet itself is a quote from here
âCrypsis.â
âIn ecology, crypsis is the ability of an animal to avoid observation or detection by other animals. It may be a predation strategy or an antipredator adaptation. Methods include camouflage, nocturnality, subterranean lifestyle and mimicry.â [x]
âEnodia, beseeched, consumed, ascendant.â
âEnnodia (also Enodia and Einodia) (Greek: áźÎ˝Î˝ÎżÎ´ÎŻÎą, the one in the streets) was an ancient Greek goddess, identified in certain areas or by certain ancient writers with Artemis, Hecate or Persephone.â [x]
âScum-curved. Chrysm. O etiolation.â
âChrismâ is â a consecrated oil used in the administration of certain sacraments and ecclesiastical functions.â [x] (searching for chrysm with a y, rediects to basically the same thing)
âEtiolation /iËtiÉËleÉŞĘÉn/ is a process in flowering plants grown in partial or complete absence of light. It is characterized by long, weak stems; smaller leaves due to longer internodes; and a pale yellow color â [x] as a verb it means: 1: to bleach and alter the natural development of (a green plant) by excluding sunlight 2a: to make pale 2b: to deprive of natural vigor 2c: make feeble [x]
âAzothâs emblem.â
âAzoth was considered to be a universal medication or universal solvent sought in alchemy." â The Azoth or Universal Medicine is, for the soul, is supreme reason and absolute justice; for the mind, it is mathematical and practical truth; for the body it is the quintessence, which is a combination of gold and light.â [x] The emblem is either the Caduceus orrr⌠a seven-pointed star:Â
âMedraut-kin. Criminous noir.â
Medraut is another name for Mordred [x]
Criminous: â Of a person: guilty of a crime; criminal; (also) accused of a crime. Also as noun: (with the) guilty or criminal people as a class.â [x]
Noir: Black in french
âWhen Sumer. Winter. West in the World. Unroot the goddess-tongue.â
Sumer (with one m) is â the earliest known civilization in the historical region of southern Mesopotamia, modern-day southern Iraq, during the Chalcolithic and Early Bronze ages, and arguably one of the first civilizations in the world along with Ancient Egypt and the Indus Valley.â [x]Â
âLeave thee to thy rootless inquisition, concluding âStay; not yet.ââ
From Shakespeareâs The Tempest:Â
MIRANDAÂ You have often Begun to tell me what I am, but stopped And left me to a bootless inquisition, Concluding, âStay. Not yet.â [x]
âBackward abysm. O end.â
From Shakespeareâs The Tempest:
PROSPEROÂ Â Â What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time?
and INTERESTINGLY continues:Â
If thou rememberest aught ere thou camest here, How thou camest here thou mayst.
(which sounds like another version of âdo you recall how you came to that place?â)
âhere I abjureâ
AGAIN from Shakespeareâs The Tempest:
âBut this rough magic here abjure, and when I have required Some heavenly music, which even now I doâ [x]
âAssume not that I am that thing I wasâÂ
From Shakespeareâs Henry IV:
âPresume not that I am the thing I was, For God doth knowâso shall the world perceiveâ That I have turned away my former self.â [x]Â Â Â
âbut will they come when we do call to themâ
From Shakespeareâs Henry IV:
GLENDOWERÂ Â I can call spirits from the vasty deep. HOTSPURÂ Â Â Why, so can I, or so can any man, But will they come when you do call for them? [x]
âTheridamas, beneath our crusted nailsâ
Theridamas is a character in Tamburlaine The Great a play in two parts by Christopher Marlowe. Theridamas was Mycetesâ chief captain, sent to kill Tamburlaine. He is convinced to switch sides and becomes devoted to Tamburlaine. [x]
And thatâs all for now! Some of the tweets, like the one in the screenshot above seem to be original and the search brings up nothing. But if anyone else has any more suggestions feel free to flign them my way!
