     HE BEGAN TO LEAN DOWN, and kairi could feel her own face heating up, and there was no doubt in her mind that she was blushing brightly, but her want to check on sora won over her EMBARRASSMENT, and she stood her ground as her eyes focused on his lips.

     her hands rose to cup his cheeks, her fingers gently brushing against his skin. despite how bruised and calloused many parts of his skin were his face was soft and his skin was WARM to the touch. for a moment, she completely forgot what she was meant to be doing, until she watched his lips puckered to let her study them.

     she didn’t want to laugh, but his analogy brought a giggle out of her. ❛ sunburn from a world filled with snow. ❜ she muttered ABSENTLY, thumb brushing against the edge of his lips to survey the damage. she was beginning to wonder if she could find some kind of salve for him in radiant garden when he spoke again, and then kairi couldn’t help but laugh.

     ❛ how could i forget? ❜ of course, every child growing up on the island knew to wear sunscreen, but kairi had just appeared there, and no one had warned her. her first sunburn after being led around by sora and riku to learn the ins and outs of their play island had been AWFUL, and she’d been so confused. she hadn’t understood the explanations of the mayor or her husband to the point that she’d been inconsolable.

     but sora had come and explained all he could, and it was only because he had told her about everything with a bright grin and stayed by her side that she’d even allowed TREATMENT at all.

          MEMORY PAINTED A PICTURE VIVIDLY WITHIN HIS MIND -- two children, he and the Princess of Heart. As she sat there and cried from the visible pain of the burns, cheer exuded from the island boy almost constantly. In turn, while gentle fingers rubbed the aloe ointment onto her tainted flesh, her pained expression soon turned into one to mirror him. Always smiling for her---- no matter what.

Warmth filled him after the sight faded from within, that same trademark grin from childhood returning upon hearing her sweet voice. THE ONLY VOICE that could bring him BACK FROM THE BRINK.

          “OF COURSE I’m always there for you,” Sora took aim to relax her as his own voice turns SOFT AND QUIET. Only for Kairi to hear his words, each laced with care and love. “I always will be, okay?”

          Palms that cradled his features brought COMFORT to the Chosen Key, tempting him to lean toward their hold. SO PEACEFUL---- for once, he didn’t have to worry about anything. Just the company of his princess. That sanctuary of safety, SO CLOSE TO HIS LOVE, kept him content.

         A sudden sense of panic had set in –     Fay hated heights as it was, not to mention –     She didn’t even know how to drive a –     Gummy ship, – Being high up made her –     Feel sick, a frantic Fay casually –     Pressed a hand onto the other’s –     Shoulder, lightly – Doing a small shake –     With her hands – Making sure to lightly –     Wake the other up — “ M-Mm – S-Sora –       P - Please wake up –  I -  I don’t know –           H - How to drive this t - thing! “

          HM? WHAT WAS THAT SHAKY FEELING? Was it enough to rouse the sleeping islander? Just barely, soft lids fluttering up and down upon a groggy wake. What was happen----!!

A NICE dream, huh? “Come on, Sora. You shouldn’t just fall ASLEEP like that. It could really dangerous.”  

Cue her hands going on her HIPS. “What kind of dream would make you SNORE?”

          ---- OH GOSH, WHAT WAS THAT DREAM ABOUT? Did he already forget it? Jeez, kid... that was a total of 5 seconds.

She’s unaware of the fact, but hopefully the buzz of his Gummiphone will rouse him.
