           It was my second day working with the girls that would be dancing in Yung Jaz’s music video, and everything was running smoothly.            I snapped my fingers so that the audio technician could start the music. I had the girls do the first set of routines I’d taught them and then I had them do those same routines while in the spots that the director had labeled for them on the set. Choreography was no easy job but having dedicated dancers was a big help. The girls I was working with were dedicated. I kept thinking he was a homophobe like many other rappers so I decided to keep my distance from him.

           Thanks to how good my dancers were, the director was able to shoot most of the scenes for the video in one take. Yung Jaz’s entourage were decent extras for the video but some were a little too distracted by the video girls. One of them kept getting a boner so the director had to stop a few times during filming. Eventually, he had that guy sit out the rest of the music video. All in all, it was a productive day.

           “And that’s a wrap,” Harvey called out.

           “Good job, girls,” I told the video girls. “You all did perfect. There’s some refreshments, including mimosas, over there waiting for you.” I watched as they all ran to the refreshment tables and when I turned around, I literally bumped into one of Yung Jaz’s security guards.            “Yung Jaz wants to see you in his trailer,” he told me.

           “He told me to get the choreographer. That’s you, right?”

           “Then follow me.”

           “Look, I got some other shit to take care of so you can get ya pale ass outta my trailer.” He waited for the white guy to leave, but when the white guy just stood there, he told him, “Bruh, you mistaking me for a nigga that repeats himself. Bounce!”

           “Yes, sir.” He turned to leave and gave me a look as he exited the trailer.

           Yung Jaz then stepped over to the door and told the security guard, “Don’t let nobody else get close to this door, bruh.” He closed and locked the door before turning to me and saying, “Thank you.”

           Not knowing what the hell to do or say, I just smiled and asked, “For what?”

           “For doin’ your thing. I might have to hire you to choregraph the bitches that roll with me on my tours. Shit was hot.”

           “No. I’m from Atlanta but I’ve been out here for about two years now.”

           He sat down on one of the beige leather lounge chairs before saying, “You can have a seat if you want.”

           I sat down in the chair next to his and asked, “Why exactly did you want to speak to me in private?”

           “I like to get to know everyone I work with on a personal level.”

           “Then why not meet with my dancers also?”

           “I can meet video hoes anytime. But you…you got something they don’t.”

           “And what’s that?”

           He smiled and licked his lips before deflecting and asking, “You got a boyfriend?”

           “No.”

           “No. I’m very, very single. Why?”
