Fave character is indeed Morro I’m unhealthy about him

A bit more about me: I’m muslim and i am also Pakistani, born and raised in the uk though. I’m a tad bit sarcastic or blunt sometimes so please know everything I say is in a lighthearted or silly tone.

I went down such a long rabbit hole to try understand the meanings of some flowers and which ones are accurate to possession Morro for this its made me insane. Look wise i think only the first two really fit Morro, but here are my silly rambles as to why i thought they fit the silliest guy ever

Black Henbane:

This flower is known well due to its poisonous nature. It causes hallucinations and unrestrained anger, which causes it to be symbolised by rage. Due to its more negative nature and its use in witchcraft (commonly used in relation to attracting love and bringing rain) it is also associated with the supernatural. Other meanings linked to it would be imperfection. Think this one is a bit like Morro thanks to the whole ghost thing, but also its poisonous nature can symbolise Morro’s habit to ruin things that are good for him, as if he himself is poison on everyone around him. The imperfection part is obvious because that asshole is OBSESSED with being the best there is, and so is the unrestrained anger/rage. The attracting love and bringing rain bit interested me because Morro was indirectly (or directly??) the reason Nya unlocked her element and Morro did most of the things he did to just prove himself.

Dahlias:

Dahlias, or what I saw of black dahlias (which either do not actually exist or aren’t actually ‘black’??), represent elegance, loyalty, devotion, dishonesty, and betrayal. Elegance is relevant to Morro due to his need for perfection, which i personally believe led to him becoming awfully swift and elegant (just like the wind can be) with his movements before his death, of which he then adopted a lack of elegance after decades in the Cursed Realm, where he slowly became as chaotic and uncontrollable (again, just like the wind). Loyalty and betrayal because Morro’s element has been utterly loyal to him until he no longer needed it, because as a ninja I think loyalty is kinda a must and Morro’s sense of loyalty is kinda messy since the only person he has shown any loyalty to was himself (and even that wasn’t real loyalty), and betrayal because 1) he felt betrayed by Wu, 2) he betrayed Wu’s trust and used the things he learnt for evil, and 3) he betrayed the Preeminent by the end. Devotion and dishonesty is also because of Morro’s devotion on getting what he wants and dishonesty because he thought Wu was lying to him, and the he spent years lying to himself.

Angels trumpet:

I made the last two SO long omg, but basically this one is similar to the Black Henbane, where i think it relates to Morro due to its similar poisonous nature. The Angels Trumpet, sometimes referred to as the Devil’s trumpet due to this, is capable quickly sedating people and causing hallucinations, which i personally think could be similar to Morro’s skilful possession and manipulation. I also think the name is fitting due to how Morro was supposed to be a hero/ninja (an ‘angel’) and instead ended hurting people despite it (like a ‘devil’). Also known to be a duality of danger and beauty.

Orange lilies:

Orange lilies are known to represent pride, disdain, and contempt. Which are three things Morro suffers from greatly in Possession. However, its more positive meanings would be rebirth and restoration of the soul, which can symbolise both Morro’s later redemption, a possible want to become a better person before hand, and how Morro was desperate to change himself and be something he wasn’t born to be.

Buttercups:

Buttercups are linked to childishness and ungratefulness. Think these ones fit Morro well due to his habit to throw what are essentially tantrums when he doesn’t get what he wants, how he acted awfully childish throughout possession (like a really angsty, and spoilt, teenager) and how Morro did not seem to be grateful for the things he did have in his life. It was due to those two traits that he reached the point the did in Possession, and why Wu found it difficult to work with Morro (not because he thinks Morro is ungrateful and childish, but he wasn’t sure how to handle a child lashing out in such a way)

Begonia:

These flowers symbolise warnings when misfortune comes and individuality. The warning part i think fits because Morro was the start, the ‘warning’, to what was to come later in the season (The Preeminent). Individuality due to his want to be special and also i think it fits the wind and its master quite well.

And these two flowers aren’t what i thought fit most with possession Morro, but i thought I’d add a tad bit of them too because i think they fit well DR Morro and DotD Morro:

Red spider lilies: death and mourning, separation, goodbyes, used at funerals for final goodbye

I find it so very interesting to think that the reason the ninja, minus Jay, are reacting the way they did to Lloyd’s death (by immediately accepting it happened, and that they don’t have a way to reverse it, and theres less anger at the unfairness of it all) is because the ninja are tired.

Their sensei has been practically dead for years, they have watched each other die over and over again, watched as those they claimed as family fall victim to torture and constant trauma. They had to deal with their own traumatic situations, and they had to save the world countless times from villains who kept becoming more and more personal. And they were teenagers. They were kids.

They spent years of just becoming accustomed to all the chaos and trauma and horrors they view that, now that they’re adults who had to experience even more beyond all that and are now responsible for children and an even bigger and wider world, they have become tired in a way you could not fathom. I do believe they are mad, horrified, and whatever else more about Lloyd’s death, and I do think that they’re deep in grief. But at one point, where does the line between ‘this is unfair and unjust’ become ‘this is how the world works’?

And why i think Jay isn’t like that is because, and get ready for this, his amnesia. Shocker, i know.

But i think Jay feels a certain level of disconnect to some memories and situations, and that his trauma doesn’t feel as much of his trauma as it once did. That, plus the fact that he still doesn’t have all his memories back, means I don’t think he has the experience anymore to become tired. In fact, out of all the ninja right now, I very much do believe he is the best representation of hope and perseverance at the current moment because he has practically been reset in a way.
