🦗 Order of the Divine Swarm (after Mucha) 🦗

Happy 10th anniversary to Thunderbolt Fantasy! 🎉 Here is the interior page illustration I made for @tbfantazine, which is an homage to Alphonse Mucha's Zodiac (1896). I'm a big fan of his art, and since I wanted to showcase the entire Order of the Divine Swarm in a single piece I thought it would work well with the composition of Zodiac. I built most of the design elements in Adobe Illustrator and then brought it over to Photoshop to finish. I'm very proud of how it came out!

🌊Shang's Journey🌊

Here's the full clean version of my cover art for @tbfantazine! This was done with acrylic inks and some colored pencil for the rain and hair details. I briefly gave an explanation about the cover theme on our cover reveal post, but I wanted to share some more of my thoughts. Since our zine is double-sided I wanted to make an illustration that could work as an entire illustration as well as a standalone cover from either side. As the main character, I used Shang Bu Huan's first and last appearances in the series to be symbolic of the beginning and the end of Thunderbolt Fantasy's journey. Additionally, the side inspired by his first appearance is the Traditional Chinese/Japanese side's cover, while the side inspired by his last appearance is the Simplified Chinese/English side's cover. With all our contributors' works spanning the entirety of the series within, it really feels like a fitting tribute for the 10th anniversary and whole celebration of an international collaboration that reached fans around the world!

I made these matching Clerith themed sketchbooks as holiday gifts for two dear friends of mine 🥰 I hand carved and printed the Buster Sword and lilies design for the front covers and painted the entire end page illustration with acrylic ink and a brush pen. I decided to do coptic stitch binding so the sketchbooks could lay flat and also used yellow cardstock around each signature since I thought it would look nice with the exposed spine 💛

Day 5: Timeloop for @bsdrarepairfest!

Odaran‼ I'm always thinking about how they briefly met as teens and then again before the end of Dark Era... This was the idea that made me want to join the rarepair event when I first heard about it late July! I actually haven't thought much about the rest of the timeloop/how long it goes for, etc, but I'm sure Ranpo can undoom Oda from the narrative 🥺 It's also been a while since I've drawn a comic so I'm really proud of it, and super happy I was able to finish it in time!
