A Clockwork Quire
I fixed up a painting from like two years ago because it was atrocious and I still wanna sell it as a print.
Might not be the absolute final product, but Iâm pretty proud of it as it is.
if anything, im good at plagiarizing jokes. except in this case i think the joke might actually be more recognizable than the characters idk. theyre from Wolverine and the X-men, and the joke is from Brooklyn nine nine, in case youâre wondering.Â

welcome to the world of bendis
Do you have any advice for a tentative kid omega rper?
Let loose all your inhibitions. I know it's hard.
You have to put him into perspective.
This kid was bullied, relentlessly throughout his childhood, and has had virtually no friends for the entirety of his life. The only person who ever hung around him was Glob Herman, who was only around because he was the only person who tolerated his presence.Â
He has been kicked around, stepped on, and ignored. He has made some very, very grave mistakes...
But now he's back. Reborn, if you will. And he's angry.
Because now, he refuses to be ignored. He refuses to be forgotten again.
It's not just for him, though, it's for all the other mutants who get tossed around in society.
He has the power to change the world, and he is going to do it. It's just figuring out how.
Be loud. You don't have to be 100% confident--Quentin sure as hell isn't.
But he tries. And successful or not, it doesn't matter, because it's a learning experience. And it got him farther than he would have if he had done nothing.
TL;DRÂ
Embrace the hurt people have caused you and turn it into anger. Embrace awkward interactions and social ineptness and channel them into Quentin.
But most importantly, try, learn, and be the sassy little shit you were born to be.
Do you know any good Quentin Quire comics?
I do!
My favorite ones areÂ
Wolverine and the X-Men: Alpha and Omega
New X-Men #134-138 (Riot at Xavier's, Quentin's debut--tw: drug abuse)
Nation X
Schism
Endsong
Age of Apocalypse #5 or 6 (I absolutely adore this AU Quentin and the way he was drawn, can't remember which issue it was exactly. But also--tw: suicide)
New X-Men Academy X #16 (tw: suicide)
Wolverine and the X-Men #1-11 (I feel like it went downhill once AvX started, personally)
A+X #4 and 9
Exiles: Days of Then and Now (tw: drug abuse)
He has also been in Deadpool, apparently? I haven't read it, though (I haven't read any comics in a really long time.)
He hasn't been in a ton of things, but I really enjoy the older ones the most (even though I was introduced to him through WatXM.)

A silent protest in Love Park, downtown Philadelphia orchestrated by performance artists protesting the murder of Michael Brown in Ferguson. The onslaught of passerbyâs  wanting to take photos with the LOVE statue exemplifies the disconnect in American society.  Simply frame out the dead body, and it doesnât exist.  In this event, artist activists staged a scene where Kieth A. Wallace, an Actor, pretended to be dead for an hour in front of the statue while others took turns holding a sign with âCall Us By Our Namesâ written on it. Â
To see more photos from this performance, check out #CallUsByOurNames on Facebook.Â
I am not a journalist, I am merely a friend of the artists involved. Â I was not at this event. Â Â Â
As the photos show, the social experiment and silent protest highlighted the peoples reaction in the foreground of the photo. In this context the people become the performance art, and the faux dead body becomes a backdrop.  As an artist, I donât want to give you my interpretation of the art of these photos. They should speak for themselves.  But I did talk to Lee Edward Colston II, an actor, who was involved in the event. Â
Here are some of his observations of the social interactions he witnessed:Â
I donât know who any of these folks are.
They were tourists I presume.
But I heard most of what everything they said. A few lines in particular stood out. Thereâs one guy not featured in the photos. His friends were trying to get him to join the picture but he couldnât take his eyes off the body.
"Something about this doesnât feel right. Iâm going to sit this one out, guys." "Comâon man⊠heâs already dead."
(Laughs.)
There were a billion little quips I heard today. Some broke my heart. Some restored my faith in humanity. There was an older white couple who wanted to take a picture under the statue.
The older gentleman: âWhy do they have to always have to shove their politics down our throats.â Older woman: âTheyâre black kids, honey. They donât have anything better to do.â
One woman even stepped over the body to get her picture. But as luck would have it the wind blew the caution tape and it got tangle around her foot. She had to stop and take the tape off. She still took her photo.
There was a guy who yelled at us⊠âWe need more dead like them. Yay for the white man!â
"One young guy just cried and then gave me a hug and said âthank you. Itâs nice to know SOMEBODY sees me.â
