Quick carrot and onion stir fry with somen noodles and some garden fresh lettuce and parsley for #desklunch at home today. Topped with scallion (grown on my counter) and toasted black sesame seeds. Going to miss the ability to stop and cook my lunch in the middle of the day when we head back to the office. Stir fry tip: rinse your noodles in cold water and coat with sesame oil to avoid them sticking together while they rest in your mise en place lineup.

Took in a lovely Sunday afternoon lunch with my honey today. We were only on the balcony, but I did my best to make our picnic special:

Yesterday's leftover rice noodles seasoned with sesame oil and Hawaiian black salt, leftover stir-fry with chicken marinated in soy sauce with black pepper and sichuan pepper, raw rough-chopped bok choy leaves and cilantro, raw bok choy stem spears and orange bellpepper, fresh scallion and habanero, and some habanero vinegar I made last night. Listening to kids play on the sidewalk below, we enjoyed lunch and strawberry lemon water.

For strawberry lemon water: add 2 frozen strawberries to glass, microwave for a few seconds, muddle berries and add any citrus base (I use Haio). Add ice and water (still or sparkling), stir to combine, top with lemon slices.
