week 5: new life//tale as old as time
New Life
Strelitzia wasnât used to it yet.
Being alive again.
She still didnât know how her brother and Ventus had done it - from what she gathered, not even the two of them knew, really.
Lauriam was in a quest with Ventus and his friends, and had left Strelitzia in the care of the Twilight Town gang - Lea and Isa, mostly.
But the one Strelitzia had grown the closest to during her time there was Naminé.
NaminĂ© got it, how it felt to be alive again. Which wasnât to say Roxas and Xion didnât, but they always had each other. It was different.
âCan I draw you?â NaminĂ© asked. NaminĂ© didnât draw often, from what Strelitzia saw. She thought, from what she knew of NaminĂ©âs past, that she felt weird doing it. But sometimes, without NaminĂ© even realizing it, the pencil in her hand started moving.
That NaminĂ© was willing to draw her - when she had trouble drawing in generalâŠ
It meant a lot to Strelitzia.
âOf course,â Strelitzia said in answer, right away. She wanted to see the result, the way NaminĂ© saw her.
She hoped it was half of what Strelitzia saw when she looked at Naminé.
can you feel the love tonight?
Can You Feel the Love Tonight
Something Aqua really liked about being around Cinderella - and she hated to admit it, even to herself - was that Cinderella didnât know.
Didnât know how weak she had been, the way she had failed. Whenever she saw Riku, it made her wince - she had made a mistake, had let the darkness consume her, and it had almost made her kill the boy she had met when he was a child. The one she had sacrificed herself to save.
Cinderella didnât know that.
She was holding back, and she knew Cinderella probably knew that, but she didnât ask. Let Aqua tell her at her own pace.
And Aqua knew she needed to - that she couldnât hide Anti-Aqua forever, not when the darkness still had a place in her own heart, when she still had doubts and fears.
But⊠it was so much easier to hide.
âIs there something wrong?â Cinderella asked as they sat together, the night sky shining above them.
Despite not getting married to the Prince, Cinderella was still living at the castle, having struck up a friendship with him.
And Aqua usually went there when she wanted to drown out the darkness in her head. Cinderella⊠made things better.
âI did some stuff,â Aqua admitted, still a bit vague. âAnd⊠I wish I hadnât.â
âYou can tell me when youâre ready,â Cinderella said, and it warmed Aquaâs heart. âBut do know⊠what I see inside of you when I look at you is a good person. Even if one who has made mistakes.â
The love Aqua felt⊠it was almost enough to make her forget everything haunting her.

Realms
One thing that could definitely be said was⊠Aqua was very tired of the Realm of Darkness.
Going back there with Terra and Ven had been⊠less awful, but it still wasnât a very pleasant place.
Which made Aqua wonder why she had decided to go there. Again. Especially withâŠ
âGloomy place, donât you think?â Elrena said.
âItâs the Realm of Darkness. Itâs in the name,â Aqua said, already feeling annoyed by this trip.
âStill. Maybe we should⊠renovate it. Lauriam could bring some flowers, we can give it some sort of artificial sun⊠Iâm sure the Radiant Garden gang can come up with something,â Elrena said.
âDidnât we come here looking for that friend of yours?â Aqua asked.
âStrelitzia, yes,â Elrena said. Lauriam had been searching for her since he regained his memories and found out some version of his sister persisted, and had roped the Guardians of Light into helping him. When Aqua decided to search in the Realm of Darkness, Elrena went along for some reason.
âWhat does she even look like?â Aqua asked. âPink hair?â
âOrange,â Elrena said. âThatâs why sheâs named after an orange flower.â
Aqua didnât like Elrenaâs tone.
âYou know, you came here because you wanted to. So try to take this seriously,â Aqua said forcefully.
âYouâre so hot when youâre angry,â Elrena winked, and Aqua looked up at the endless dark sky.
âIs that why youâre always annoying me?â
âPart of it. I really like annoying everyone, your expressions are just a bonus,â Elrena smirked.
Aqua really, really wanted to wipe that smirk off Elrenaâs face.
She was usually a very level-headed person, but Elrena was impossibly good at pushing her buttons.
Maybe part of that was because she was hot too.

Fact of the matter was, Sabrina just didnât know what to do with herself when someone genuinely enjoyed being around her. Not that the list was very long to begin with. Kairi must have been a lonely one too- it was the only thing that made sense.
âYou know,â Kairi mused as the two of them aimlessly walked up and down Mean Street, âWasteland is a pretty beautiful place in its own right.â
Sabrina snorted. âSure, if you like having oceans of thinner ready to singe your skin at first contact. Most beautiful place on earth.â
âThatâs not what I mean.â Kairi gently smiled. âSure, there are places where you could get seriously hurt if youâre not careful, but that doesnât mean that other places arenât lovely to look at in their own way. Like the caverns, or even the castle. Such beautiful places hidden behind a world that embraces the darkness around it.â
âYou better watch yourself,â Sabrina retorted, âIt sounds like youâre flirting.â
Kairi only offered a pleasant, bubbly laughter back. It ticked away at Sabrinaâs nerve like it was made to make fun of her instead. Kairi didnât seem to notice- her eyes drifting up to the Wasteland sky.
âYou donât see a lot of stars here, do you?â Kairi then hummed. âIt would make it hard to tell if a world has lost its light, wouldnât it?â
âIt would if anyone cared about such a thing.â Sabrina agreed, also looking up at the sky. âDown here, weâre all outcasts. They donât care about us, and we donât care about them.â

A Whole New World
Xion wanted Oletteâs first visit to another world to be special.
The Guardians spent a few days talking about having a beach party at Destiny Islands when Sora and Kairi returned, and Xion wanted the Twilight Town trio to go.
The way she saw it, they already knew about other worlds. As long as they returned soon after and didnât cause anyone they knew to start wondering about other worlds, there werenât any world order issues.
And more than that, Xion wanted to share the world the two people she came from lived in. To all three of them, but mostly Olette.
They didnât know each other well, but Xion really wanted to get to know her - consider her a friend instead of just a friend Roxas made on a data world. The Twilight Town trio had been very welcoming, even of Axel, and Xion liked them. But there was just⊠something different, with Olette.
Xion wondered if it was just having a female friend, but Naminé counted, and it was different with Naminé.
When they landed in Destiny Islands, Xion moved forward to show Olette the play island. âI used to come here a lot to pick up seashells during my time in the Organization, so I would know my way around even without Soraâs memories in my head.â
âIâm still not used to how wild you guysâ stories are,â Olette admitted, and Xion grinned at her - something she still thought was weird. Being allowed to just⊠feel things.
âI donât think you know half of it,â Xion said. âBut tell me! How do you feel about visiting another world? Especially one as beautiful as this one?â
âWell, Twilight Town does have a beach, but thereâs something very magical about this island,â Olette said.
âI think so too!â Xion said. âI always felt a connection to this place, though I know part of it was all the⊠memory mess.â
âI think itâs a good world,â Olette said. âI want to see more of them.â
âIâll take you to as many new worlds as you want to,â Xion promised. And she really wanted to do it.
Show Olette the universe.

During her time in the Organization, Xion only ever wore the black coat, and a smock underneath. She never questioned it. No one ever told her that she could change what she wore underneath the coat. Not that it ever really mattered anyway. Saix just wanted them to finish missions, and that was the life -the routine- Xion came to expect for herself.
But things were different now. Xion was her own person. She could dress however she wanted. Which, thankfully enough, included not wearing a black coat in triple digit weather. Her first goal as her own person was to find her identity. One that wasnât directly influenced by Sora, or Roxas, or anyone in between. That meant, more often than not, joining Olette on shopping sprees.
Most of the time, it was Olette doing the actual shopping. Not that Xion minded too much- the idea of clothing, and aesthetic, and what was considered ânormalâ was still a bit beyond her. If she saw something that she liked, Olette would encourage her. They didnât stray too far from the female clothing though. It was a small little something that sometimes nagged away at Xion, but she didnât dare ask about it because Olette always looked so happy while trying on clothes.Â
Today wasnât meant to be that much different; another visit to a bargain outlet, trying on some clothes, and maybe buying a few of their favorite pieces. But today, the two girls spent a lot of time in the clearance areas. This part of the store had less defined ways to distinguish between the male and female clothing. And what did Xion find that a hoodie- one marketed as a âboyfriendâ hoodie with a single pocket in front, drawstrings to adjust the hood, dark blue cotton fabric, and looked just a teeny bit too big for her. It didnât stop her from trying it on right then and there of course. Olette wasnât paying that much attention, which was good. She probably wasnât allowed to do this anyway.

week 2 : magic/i see the light
i may have missed the week for this prompt but it's still worth posting about namixi!
Oath
Naminé loved Twilight Town.
A part of her had been fearful to live there - the place she had basically been kept prisoner on by DiZ - but Xion and Roxas had offered a place for her in their home, and NaminĂ©âŠ
After her role on what happened to both of them, the fact that they wanted her around, that they were willing to live with her, it meant so much that negative thoughts of that year flew from NaminĂ©âs mind.
And the thing was, even a year later Naminé had never once regretted that decision.
Roxas and the Twilight gang were great, of course, but a lot of that had to do with Xion.
Xion was Twilight Townâs protector, in many ways. Roxas had given up fighting now that he didnât have to, but Xion had kept going, being the most powerful person who lived in the world and protecting it.
Which was why NaminĂ© wasnât even scared when she was surrounded by Heartless.
Pence had created a device that alerted Xion when Heartless attacked, which meant Xion had to be on her way.
And she was.
The Heartless barely saw what hit them, the light Xion wielded - a power she had made her own despite coming from others - making short work of them.
âSorry, am I late?â Xion asked. âAre you hurt?â
NaminĂ© smiled at her. âIâm fine. Thank you.â
âJust doing my job,â Xion said with a shrug.
âYouâre my hero, you know?â NaminĂ© couldnât help but say, looking at Xion and trying to show how honest she was when she said it.
Xion looked away, her hand coming up to tangle in her hair, the way it did when she was embarrassed. âAnyone would do that if they could.â
âI donât think you realize just how much that isnât true,â NaminĂ© said. âYou truly donât see yourself the way I do.â
âHow do you see me? As a hero?â
âThat too, of course. But itâs more than that. Iâm never scared, because I know youâll be there for me when I need you,â NaminĂ© said.
âIâll always protect you, with my life,â Xion promised, though NaminĂ© didnât need to hear her say that to know it to be true.
But she did say it⊠and Naminé made an oath to herself to make sure to do the same for her.

Strelitzia shivered as Anora slipped her hand into hers. The bright, genuine smile on the naturally tanned girl caused Strelitzia to blush so hard that she had to look away. Not that this wasnât a routine for them. Every day the two girls would meet at Fountain Square and go off to do their missions together. It was Anora who took more of a leading role in them too. But for a regular mission, the raspberry pink haired girl seemed a lot more excitable than usual. She insistently tugged Strelitzia away from the fountain.
âYouâre really excitable today.â the taller of the two noted, even though she couldnât quite look Anora in the eye. âWhere are we going?â
There was a movement from Anora that Strelitzia only happened to catch. A cheeky little gesture of the smaller placing a finger to her lips, indicating that it was a surprise. That only made Strelitziaâs heart accelerate more.
âN-no hint?â she questioned with a squeak. âI mean, as long as Iâm with you then it doesnât really matter. But⊠But you have to give me something, you know? Itâs rude to keep a girl waiting.â
Anora only grinned wider- tugging Strelitzia even more. The latter had no choice but to follow. Anora was quick to take the two of them to the open air market. Many of the stalls did not have an actual operator behind them, instead using an honor system instead. But Anora didnât go to any of them. Instead, she took Strelitzia to the front of a store that held a large display window- one of the few in Daybreak Town to actually have them. Strelitzia watched as Anora quickly looked over the display window, looking for something in particular, before letting out a small sound of joy.

I See the Light
One of the last conversations Kairi had had with Sora before he disappeared, during their little world tour, had been about the Kingdom of Corona.
About how beautiful the lanterns in the sky were, how breathtaking.
Following waking up from her year-long sleep, Kairi visited the world while training with Aqua, and heard they were close to the lantern show once again.
Kairiâs first thought - and that said a lot - wasnât about Sora. It was about how she wanted NaminĂ© to get the chance to see them.
Naminé had been her rock after she decided to stay behind instead of going with Riku to find Sora. She had been the one to stay around and talk to Kairi, when Aqua was too awkward to.
Kairi had wondered a lot what getting to know Naminé would be like when Naminé still rested inside her. But the truth⊠it was better than she could have imagined.
They sat on the pier to watch the lanterns, and the light of them as well as the sky light made NaminĂ© breathtaking. Not that she wasnât usually.
It felt different, seeing her.

Magic
It didnât take long into knowing Elsa for Aqua to realize her ice magic was beyond anything Aqua had ever seen.
Ice magic was one of her specialties, but that still wasnât enough to beat someone born with that power in a world where such things are possible.
âYou are⊠amazing,â Aqua said, after Elsa showed her the ice castle she had made, not too long before.
Elsa looked a bit surprised at that before smiling. âIâm still unused to people being impressed instead of scared when they see my powers.â
âWhat happened to you?â Aqua asked.
Arendelle had been one of the worlds Sora had visited in his last quest before his disappearance, and before they left to the Realm of Darkness, Aqua had agreed alongside Terra and Ven to look into the other worlds, the ones Sora had traversed while trying to save all of their lives.
As queen, Elsa had agreed to help her search for clues to Sora.
And Aqua enjoyed Elsaâs company.
âI hurt Anna, when I was a child,â Elsa said. âMy parents⊠they tried, but they didnât know what to do with a magical child. They taught me to hide.â
It reminded Aqua of how Eraqus had treated Terra. For all that she loved the man like a father, she knew now that his teachings hadnât all been good.
âYou are amazing,â Aqua repeated. âMaybe you should have heard that more.â
Elsa still had a weird look on her face, but after a moment her face softened and she smiled at Aqua.
And that smile⊠it certainly wasnât pure ice. It could melt through anything.
Including Aquaâs own walls.
Once Upon a Dream
It took Kairi until she slept, looking for clues to Sora, for her to begin to remember.
The year where she forgot Sora, that she waited every night for some clue about the boy she couldnât remember.
She hadnât been dreaming alone then.
There was⊠that girl. Now, Kairi knew who she was. Xion.
They spoke of many things, but Kairi had always felt Xion was keeping many secrets. And still she hadnât cared, happy to be around this girl who felt so similar and so unique all at once.
Not even meeting Roxas or Naminé had awoken similar feelings.
Xion wasnât Sora. And she wasnât Kairi. But she felt like home - like Destiny Islands - anyway.
Those dreams meant a lot to Kairi, a companion while her best friends were either off somewhere or lost to her even in memory.
Xion had felt similar even when they crossed blades on the Keyblade Graveyard.
And now Kairi knew why.
She was going to do her best to be around Xion in more than in dreams.
Theyâd know each other, just like they did once upon a dream.
